Who ever built that fuel station needs a education on how to build in a major cyclone area. Goldsworthy mining town ship had more cyclones than Pardoo road house they only lasted one good blow Goldsworthy had 2 in a week and its still standing. Shouldn’t of made it out of paper
Takes me back to 94 & 95 , used to stay at the hotel opposite that very shell truck stop in Alice Springs , they served the best ice cream mixed fruit . I loved it when the Shell or BP tankers came in with the Mack's up front . Young free & single back packing around the world those were the days . If you like to see a RT or two you could walk into any yard in town and they was happy for you to have a look see . See ya .
I was on the firt road from Port Augustas to Cooper Peedy 50 years ago when i saw a plumb of dust well into the distance. I knew to stop and prepare for what was a real experience being passed by one of these behemoths on the dirt.I got all wet rags around any openening waited for it to pass. I thought I was a goner for sure.
spent 3 das around maint yard in ALICE great time. 1 road train had 500 steers loaded being up close and personal bucket list filler. then ? watching the train light up looks like a carnival
