23 years old from Scotland. My grandad used to play Bob Dylan when I was younger. Love this song and it will get passed down to generations 🎵 timeless classic
This song has always reminded me of one of my other favorite Dylan tunes: Black Diamond Bay. The narrative is just so intertwined and interesting. Only Dylan can make something so convoluted so much fun to listen to.
I saw Roy at a concert in 1980…. Iconic would be a understatement. He controlled everything. It was a short concert but powerful, he gave everything he had. People were overwhelmed with emotion.
Roy Orbison was the main support for The Rolling Stones' first tour of Australia in 1965. They played the Palais Theatre, a 3000 seat venue, in Melbourne and The Big O got a huge reception. The Stones had to follow him but got a big reception also. In those days there were 5 acts on the bill and The Stones played for about 25 minutes. By 1967 this changed to just one support and so the headliner had to play much longer, at least an hour or more. By the 1970s, two hours was obligatory.
He was the most wonderful singer i have ever known, his voice made you listen and appreciate his singing, sent shivers down your spine when he reached high notes. He was wonderful and is sadly missed, he died too young.
