I have one question regarding the Equity% displayed in portfolio for DAA category like balanced adv funds. 1) Am i right in assuming almost all maintain 65% equity like (plain equity+hedging) to get equity like taxation post 1yr ? 2) How to get the % of equity in these DAA/bal adv category that's not hedged open to shocks? I believe balanced hyb(40-60), multi asset, FoF depending on equity held if atleast >35% they will get >24 months ltcg 12.5% thx in adv
1) How will this FoF scheme icici asset allocator FoF direct growth be taxed ? 2) i had invested only in active mfs so far and if i need one index fund can i use Nifty50 value 20 index fund of Nippon or icici AMC which is using roce+pe+pb+div yield factors a mix of value+growth(ROCE is 0.4 wght growth). i ask bcos instead of nifty/sensex it has shown promise in consistency/rolling returns and more tighter benchmark for active blueschip schemes?'thx in adv

Is it ok to go with multicap index fund and 1 or 2 flexi cap and a nifty 50 index fund? Rather than investing in next 50 index, midcap 150 index & small cap active fund separately.
Hello sir, Is it better and tax efficient if i use aggressive hybrid fund for rebalancing than using debt and equity mf seperately for long term goal . Thanks
Pattu sir , planning to start my SIP by August 2024 . Should I start now or should I wait for some time as many suggest market is overvalued ? Kindly reply sir
Why do you say gold is not for diversification? Equity (Stocks, Index MF) + Physical Gold is my current investment strategy. Let me know if I can improve for better.
I don't see any problem with SGB when we don't need the money for atleast 5 years.. its better than buying physical gold or digital gold for investment purpose.
Hi Sir ! I have a question regarding nps tier 2 account since there’s no charge on withdrawal and money can be withdrawn anytime and there’s no limit on investment amount we want can we also use it like ppf (fixed income corpus) for asset allocation/rebalancing portfolio? I don’t know how it will be taxed after this year’s budget it used to have indexation benefits now no one knows
If a retiree (no other income) invested in international funds, is it better to book profit within 2 years and repurchase the units to avoid 12.5% LTCG after 2 years? Please advise
Is it wise to continue with PPF account? My ppf account matures in 2025. Is it wise to extend it for another 5 years? I am not sure of tax benefits in new tax regime. I use it as debt part of my portfolio.
Hi sir, Nifty at all time high, from this point can we expect will it correct, I'm 23 just now started thinking of investing in index funds, should I wait until it's correcting ? MF like navi nifty fifty having low principle so in apps it's showing as high risk, should we take this warning seriously or we can go ahead and invest in navi as it's having low expense ratio?
Hello Pattu sir. It was one of your Ofspin podcast episode which taught me portfolio balance (I think it was the one on rebalancing). You said something like, "current generation hasn't seen the market fall (like 2008) so they put everything in equity or high risk asset. Rather you should have a distribution based on your risk profile". It was eye opening for me and that was when I created a 30\70 fixedIncome\equity split. Now, FD and SGBs were my 2 fixed income instruments and you've cut SGB off too 😄 Do you suggest any other instruments for fixed income then? Thankyou.
@@pattufreefincal should've also mentioned PPF, my bad. Thanks for the help. Have not dived into debt funds because I am not really able to understand them well. Will read\listen more.
Sir tell me something, No gold, no gold bonds,no real estate, no active funds, no active stocks...a simple passive index fund is good enuf, is what i kind of sense from ur approach ! I might be wrong. And also equity strong exposure is crucial is what i sense from urs, ofcourse derisk it based on age and play around asset allocation etc...!! All that is fine, but all of these fin influencers or one who promotes these and one who confidently said they achieved financial freedom or goals to an extent, have started their journey long back ! And they have been lucky to have 2008 crisis, 2020 COVID crisis that they exploited that opportunity and their investment grew well !! In addition, from 2004 till 2018, capital gains tax were exempted and even after 2018, grandfathering clause was given for those gains achieved before 2018 !!so naturally in this period, tax was also very low, so all these ppl wud have ofcourse saved much !! Now all these experience based on past data, history not guaranteed to work for future as well rite, so may be diversification can still work, may be gold can still work, may be more equity exposure in next 5 years might bring more taxation that we feel other assets might be better... May be I'm thinking that when gov is pushing so much tax on us, instead of me putting all these efforts to learn equity investing , why don't I learn nit and grits of realestate, a traditional investment and tap on it ? Why cant I live with gold as well as traditional investment ?.... Why this much stress on equity investing when that too is prone to so much risk and variations and all that u all teach is naturally based on history only ? Sorry for sounding like a critic , but just reli wanted to understand!!..... In short, data and experience u all share here is based on last decade or last two decades which had two major correction points and very very less tax , so that may not be still the best way for future ! Let Ppl explore all options !!
