@TheHoriznLine so far I've got about 600-700 rounds through mine with it installed, it's barely a handguard but the mlok is invaluable on the aug. I'll make an update video
I also bought one of these as my first rifle when I was in my early twenties around 2011 2012. it did have all matching numbers and one thing I would learn was unique about it after I sold it was that it had an octagon receiver. I really don't know what that means to this day but I do notice most of them have round receivers.
I think this is a pretty good video with some good knowledge. but one question when you kept saying Johnson stoner did you perhaps mean to say Eugene stoner? And also I suggest some overhead lighting for future videos.
@savageinstitute9569 thanks man, yeah the late 00's early 2010's were a good time if you were aware of the surplus being brought in , sucks I only had money at the very tail end of it but at least I got to experience it
Man I know this vid was a year ago, and maybe I overlooked it in your other vids, but what did you end up going with? I absolutely love my P-10f optics ready and P-10c. I’ve got a P-09 too and I thought I’d like the trigger on it more than my P-10 but I actually prefer the P-10 striker trigger. P-10f is such a nice gun. Shoots so well and is pretty ridiculously accurate. It handles recoil like a champ. The Glock 17 really surprised me with how much I liked it, it just shot so well the trigger didn’t matter to me. I also can’t make myself like Sig, I’d love to like Sig but I just can’t.
Unethical business practices have been going on since the Fall of Man. Buyers beware. We must tell manufacturers and distributors what we want and expect from them, and hold them accountable. How? By voting with our dollars. Giant piles of inventory sitting in warehouses sends a message... eventually. One of the biggest gripes I have against some companies is letting their marketing teams TELL US what WE WANT, not the other-way around. The internet has not been the Godsend that we all expected, but there are some positives...word of mouth can quickly spread when companies like this try these kinds of stunts. The hardest part? Sticking to our "guns", so to speak. We must be prepared to not shoot as much as we once did (or temporarily stop shooting completely), and choose another firearm to practice with until we can see something positive coming from the ammo companies and distributors. Of course, political expediency and war played a big part in the 5.45 fiasco, but all things go in cycles. Don't fall for the "only rich guys have any ammo" BS. When ammo is plentiful and cheap, that is exactly the time that most people don't pay any attention to it, and let themselves get drawn into the "I'll get some later" mentality. Of course, not everybody can buy large quantities at once, but regularly adding a bit soon adds up. Lastly, never rely upon only one platform. Always have a backup plan. Nobody needs 5-10 different calibers, but at least 2 is a good idea. I know some folks who have up to 15-20 different caliber firearms, and are not proficient in a single one. Sure, they like the idea of collecting and having many different toys, but keeping up with all the different ammo types is daunting and frankly, not an easy task (unless you are starting a museum). Best to start out with one or two, and practice as often as you can to become proficient. If the ammo for one temporarily becomes too expensive or hard to come by, then switch to the other... Just my two cents. I hope everyone gets to keep their freedoms in the best "experiment" that has ever been tried in history...the United States of America.
I wasted money on six boxes of Zinc Point 9mm. Some of the rounds are over charged and the primers are crap and people have had this crap explode and damage the weapons chambers. Some people have had minor injuries as well, from what I understand. DON'T BUY ANY ZINC POINT AMMO, IT IS ALL TOTAL CRAP and dangerous to load in your weapon.
Well, i mean.... Not really an issue if you clean your gun when you get home.... Lol I mean I wouldn't shoot this shit but, wouldn't be a problem with proper weapon maintenance
My point exactly 5.45 takes less raw materials to manufacture than 7.62x39mm, with the way soviet city sized factory works / worked it costs them no more to produce 5.45 than 7.62x39mm
@@skinwalkerhiddenvalleyranch American made brass 5.56 and imported brass 5.56 sub 50 cpr haha Tela 5.45 should be the same price at least of their inflated 7.62x39 which is also overpriced
@@skinwalkerhiddenvalleyranch get it down to 50cpr and I will try it until then no thanks . I can’t imagine it’s selling well prices went down 10 cents in the last month
I agree with you on the over, priced part in the deception part. However, if you just clean your weapon, the corrosive ammo won’t be a problem or proper weapons. Maintenance will overcome corrosive primers for the longest time all that was available, was corrosive ammunition.
Nobody wanted my p.o.s wasr until covid and I jumped on the oppertunity to sell it to the first person interested for 500$. He was thrilled. My friend told me I could have gotten 800$+ for it (may 2020). I than looked online and couldn't believe I paid 280$ new for it in 2007. I just bought a jack over another wasr when I realized I still have half a pallet of 7.62 in storage from that wasr and the Obama vote scare of 2008. The wasr was such a p.o.s I never shot it and it turned me off aks for years.
2005.....WASRs were $129. Thats when real Romanian military rifles were still available, the SAR. I remember someone on a forum who gave it the correct acronym to the WASR: What A Sh*tty Rifle.
Right? There's so many trigger snobs out there. I've always thought of milspec triggers as more deliberate and safer from negligent discharges in general.
I was suspicious of the name, a little close to TulAmmo if someone didn't read the name carefully. Classic Firearms has a lot of ammo brands that I've never heard of .
Yep, I'm gonna do a corrosive ammo cleaning video soon since I got a bunch of 2020 vintage corrosive kilmosk 7.62x39mm I plan on getting rid of next range trip
@@skinwalkerhiddenvalleyranch Wow... I guess the former comblock still lives in the friggin blackpowder era! The only way I'd ever get that stuff is if I had a barrel of solution to dunk it in afterwards.
it's because of the primers lasting about 70 years more than non corrosive ones, i don't mind corrosive ammo but not at a buck a round with false advertising
@skinwalkerhiddenvalleyranch Corrosive primers really don't last any longer. They use corrosive primers primarily because they are less sensitive to hot & cold extremes. But also, the corrosive mixture is cheaper to make.
I bought a brand new 2015 WASR10 (not a GP) for $450 in 2015. It came with two mags, sling and cleaning kit. It came in the black box with the blue and white century logo on it. I replaced the crappy century blonde wood furniture and stock with romainian surplus furniture, also replaced the cheap black plastic century pistol grip with a romainian bakelite pistol grip. I also replaced the "paper clip" FCG pin retainer with a red star arms FCG pin retainer plate. I did all of that before I even fired it for the first time. In 2015 century was putting their own RAK-1 trigger in them which is pretty good IMO. No problems at all in the 8yrs that I've owned it. I also own several high end AKs that can no longer be purchased which are safe queens that I shoot occasionally. My WASR10 may not be as pretty as my other AK's but it functions just as well and I trust it with my life. As of 2023 new WASR10's are being sold between $900-$1K.
@skinwalkerhiddenvalleyranch Even the mag well on it it cut good, mags don't wobble. It also came with a cleaning rod. It was a pretty good deal. Can't remember the year but Century started cheaping out either in 2016 or 2017 going forward they started putting them in plain cardboard boxes and they only came with one mag, no cleaning rod and no cleaning kit. Of course like you said in 2019 they came out with that V2 with the garbage black plastic furniture. I was telling people for years that if they wanted an AK they'd better buy it because they will wind up being banned from importation. I also said the same about ammo, I stacked it to the rafters along with surplus mags and spare parts. Now look how much AK ammo is oer round and there isn't a lot of it around. I bought the majority of my 7.62x39 when it was 10 cents per round.
If you want a $499 ak-47, I wish you the same salary of these workers. Then we will see if you can live with that kind of money each month. All you americans want as cheap as possible ak-47 but you think workers living just with water?
I carry underwood xtreme defenders in 45 Super. In my USP 45. I really do think the magical flutes help wider diameter bullets like 45 help give the necessary penetration to stop the threat. Versus traditional hollow points that expand and when pushed to 45 super velocity under penetrate.
Non-dimpled 10/63 with the dark parkerized finish and tougher laminate furniture is the WASR of choice (in the latter period of cutting out the magazine wells for doubles and tack-welding in spacers to prevent mag wobble but just before new manufacture of stamped/dimpled receivers). The authentic cold-forged assemblies, Mil-spec furniture, and finish were because they came from brand new service rifles pulled from military stock. These later versions of the receivers prior to manufacture of the dimpled ones were new military receivers with much better mag well cuts and tighter tolerances than the prev years versions many complained about.
I've owned 6 wasrs over the years, and honestly, I've never had a bad one. All ran 100% with all magazines I had available. All were under 3in- 5 shot groups , just would always swap out the American hardwood for Romanian laminate to get the Pm-63 look down
added an original Romy grip and leather sling and compensator to mine and it performs great. Mine came with original laminate furniture and has a 1975 trunion.
For the foward sling Mount I recommend one of three solutions. A picatinny rail mount, he corvus rail has a sling mount on each side or the gear head works FLEX.
