I want a small camera to film in lower light and mixed light like malls, shops, and evening walks. I want the action 5. How is the 4 for mall walks? Looks good! Is jitter any problem?
hi, yeah 5 could be better, i haven't tried tho. i'm good with 4 already, i'm satisfied using it - day/night walks. my prob if ever is in post, not in the device hehe. but i may say, not so much editing required with dji sooc footages. i also have pocket3, shots are very stabilized but it's bigger than action4. i still enjoy the experience with 4, i appreciate the little shakes actually. the size is perfect for me, i avoid catching attention, and just let me enjoy recording my walks :)
hi, it's because i have tried it and i'm not satisfied with the results. it's flaky, too much noise and artifacts. disclaimer: that's only my personal experience and limited to the environment where i was at, at that time 🙂 ..thanks for the comment, feel free to ask. enjoy shooting!
I have the DJI Osmo Action 3 and will def look into upgrading to the Action 4 in a couple of weeks, because we want better video quality in low light with the slightly larger sensor. Mainly use my Action 3 for 4k walk videos on holidays. Low light on Action 3 is very grainy, so may be worth the investment.
hi, yes sorry about that. at the time i did this video test, i'm still experimenting with the settings. i tried to use 0.0ev/+0.3ev in my recent videos for low light, i notice MORE noises. but yeah, it's a different location, i can't exactly compare the results.
What's the mount you're using? Can you also share settings here? It's painful to watch the occasional "shake" in the OA4. I think we'll explore on the low side for good lighting indoors like something within 1-800 ISO.

Nakakahilo ang bidiyo mo bro!!!! Hindi no na set ang dji mo sa auto stabilisation. Gusto ko ang mall na ito, pero masakit sa ulo ang kuha mo... Improve next time ya!
hi, yes sorry about that. it was shot a month ago, still testing out then which settings to use. i was actually hesitant to upload this one, but i still did as per request by my nephew. we also love this mall, thank you sir for the feedback! :)
hi may we know your settings in here? and did you use NdFilters and 10 Dlog-m? then color correct/ color grade it? and what gears did you use here? externalmic??
thank you! 😍 i used DJI Osmo Action 4, settings: 4K, 16:9, 24fps, HB, FOV standard(dewarp), color NORMAL, AWB, 100-3200, 1/100-1/8000, EV -0.3 no ND filters, in-body mic only, hand held only i used capcut in editing, color grading: i only play with the brightness/contrast, and little adjustments in the HSL
yes, i'm using HB 🙂 in my experience, HB will work depending on the resolution you set. when in 4K: 4:3 + any frame rate = you can NOT use HB, but you CAN use in WIDE fov 16:9 + 60fps & below = you CAN use HB, but NOT in WIDE fov 16:9 + 100fps/120fps = you can NOT use HB, and can NOT in WIDE fov explanation, when in 4K + 4:3.. osmo action 4 uses the full sensor. HB requires cropping to do the horizon-balancing-stabilization. hope that helps :)
yes i agree, i'm still testing out which settings will give a better footage in low light. i'm not expecting too much but a little better than "usable" ..i'm good with that :)
