Woodworking, blacksmithing, watch repair and a little bit of this and that. Tällä kanavalla näet puutöitä, metallitöitä, takomista, sorvausta, kellojen korjaamista ym. askartelua.
The best video I’ve seen on indicator repair so far. I would have liked a narration to go along with your video explaining the various steps and order of operations. I would also have liked to know what solutions you used to clean the parts as well as lubricants used. Thanks for posting your work.
I've been trying to make these for years.Have had no success.Would like more of a detailed explanation of what you're doing and the shape and depth and whatever it is because i've tried it and cannot get it to work
All i know that best time to make these is srpring. The bark is easier to remowe. If it does not work blow harder. If still no luck adjust the air path or the depth of the hole in the wood or bark. Make sure that the hole in the bark has a clean cut. Good luck.
Have you a full video showing cutting methods? I make jewellery and have a SR pendulum flex shaft, and need to cut stones smaller before tumbling, I’ve got plenty water lol supplied by a iv bag and line, and have adapted a really useful box and lid to turn the flex shaft into a mini table saw with a adapted sponge at the back to help keep the blade wet and catch over spray as said box is full of water as well as the iv line, don’t think hubby would appreciate a soggy shed! It’s good to see other ways! 😊
No such thing as stupid questions 😳 Wait for it waaait 🤔 what grade metal on the band & what flux And solder I KNOW I'M IGNORANT. BUT I YOU CAN BE ASSURED I WILL NOT BE INGNORANT FOR EVER & ILL NEVER USE MY STUPIDITY AGAINST YOU 😂 Thanks again for KEEPING IT SIMPLE 🎉
You seem smarter than me. I do not know anythin you just asked. I used to be watchmaker the thing i did on my channel are heavily based on you tube. The band was some silver i bought about 20 years ago the flux idk. I think you can use borax dilutet in distilled water. Im not sure. The solder is the only one I have, but im glad I only needed to make those two so it is not that important. I think. 🤔
@@Lazywatchsmith When I was bed ridden I started on automatic watches couldn't tell you now how I fixed them But the money was good the old pocket watches especially That video helped a lot .And the others brought something to the table . Keep on making videos, You have some good tools why not use them. Thanks for replying. I was just looking at a way to keep my start up cost down lol
Ahhamazing OH-K R E A L L Y. I've never Seen or been shown Anything made so easy Wonderful job. I was blessed learning from industrial metal artisans Never was it made this easy 😳 Dam good video , 🤔 How i missed the type of grinding stone AND THE DIAMOND {THING} Are beyond me 😣 So I'll have to blame it on the 5oo other videos I've watched on similar subjects . But i really appreciate this. After a catastrophic life changing injury Bed ridden for 7 years out of ? Boredom ? Started using metal tools again although on a much smaller scale. And my first attempts were surprisingly Good selling my first {Rings} & jewelry Projects for a few hundred dollars Back then unfortunately i coded a few time with some brain trama ect ect ECT l forgot how to do the simple tricks that helped me craft these 1 of a kind items. THE BAD MY VERY OLD TOOLS AND STOCK SOME NOT REPLACEABLE from family and other journeyman ENY way like everything else I'm wekin on it 😂 glad l stumbled on your video [ way to many bad ones out there frfr] I'll definitely check ✔️ Any i may have missed or you may do in the future .I encourage all of your endeavor's. Teachers are Born not made THANKS AGAIN
P.s It took me a minute but the grinding wheel 😳 Got it 🤔 The DIAMOND THING I'm really not sure about. Idk I might figger it out later Really hope you keep on with your tutorials
@@troysatterfield8817 I find it hard to make spesific size stones. Sometimes harder stones can remove it self from the superglue if Im too agressive on the grinding stone. Slow is the key.
Look, hi man, how the hell does one mount it on one of their supports? I got the closed one, but I cannot figure out how to mount it, besides the two holes in the front or the two in the back. I cannot mount all four screws, lest I open up the table top to scre them from the inside.
What an amazing piece of work. Beautiful finish. You have given me all the information I needed to turn a small glassy blue rock into a polished round stone for a ring.👍I do not have the proper tools either. Thanks again.
Btw, saw a few of your videos and subscribed. You should invest a little more time on these videos as there’s money to be made nowadays. RU-vid today IS the go to place for anything. It replaced Google years ago for being visual and allowing the creators to express their personality on it. I can see you’re very funny and creative, you should try it. You have years here and s couple dollars extra wouldn’t hurt! Good luck and thank you for reading your comments! That’s also very important.
Excellent tutorial, you do fine work without fancy cabbing machines. It was just what I needed to see with my limited resources, now I feel I can make stones to set myself.
Considering the state of my dial indicator, this is a bit too much of a time investment. It's a Starrett no.196, and it only has the _mildest_ stickiness to it; it's as though you have to first gently break it loose to get it to move and then it's fine, but by then you've already jumped from 0 to 10 or 20. To me, it seems as though it's just thirsty for some routine maintenance, but I'd appreciate a more adept opinion before I do anything. Do you advise using a certain type of oil as a quick fix? Thanks.
