Sorry Bonham, Keith Moon, Neil Peart, Ginger Baker etc. Mike Shrieve is the #1 rock drummer of all time (IMO)! Strange that on Rolling Stones website over the 100 best drummers, Michael Shrieve is at #74 right now. Drummers like Tommy Ramone and Alex Van Halen are rated higher, which I find hilarious.
nunca me canso de ver y oír esta tremenda interpretación...tenia 14 años cuando esto ocurrió...y todavía considero a santana un verdadero genio de la guitarra
I remember watching Santana live when I was a kid, and it was one of the experiences that got me into percussion. When I saw them I was in sort of the "nose bleed section- but I had a cheapo pair of binoculars, so I would watch each musician individually, and I saw Shrieve playing with all 4 limbs playing a different syncopated rhythm, and I was thinking "How the fuck does anyone manage that?!?" Of course, since then I've seen plenty of top drummers doing that, but really only maybe the top 10% of them can do this smoothly.
Back in the late 1980's my friends that grew up in the 50's told me that Connie Francis was just as big or bigger than Madonna. I believe it. Such a great voice. Listen to her sing Al Di La from Ed Sullivan Show.
This tune is called “Stroll On” not “Train Kept A-Rollin’”….and yes I KNOW it’s the same tune as “Train….”, same arrangement, almost the same everything, apart from the title and a few lyrics…still doesn’t make it “Train Kept A-Rollin’ “ though….
I remember the Family Dog. Remember the gigs at 1090 Page Street. Big Brother and Janis and other musicians just starting out in the basement ballroom of a huge Victorian .
What a treat! Connie Francis should be honored for all her recordings...she sang in several languages! Ft. Lauderdale, why didn't you invite George Hamilton and Paula Prentiss? Both were in the movie. I believe Where the Boys Are, could have been Hamilton's first movie! I have watched it many times through the years, just good nostalgia! Innocent days.
You are forever Connie Francis, the best singer of all times. I treasure you in my heart I have two albums with the best of your songs. ❤ I played over and over , and I danced my favorite songs " lipstick on the color," and everybody's is somebody's fool ❤
These teens are weird. Not excited by the performance but throw a part of a broken guitar, they got nuts! Teen then are just as stupid as the teens today.
While true in comparison the movie Blowup from 1966 , they the the Yardbirds I suppose, did not have the always changing musical or iindividual instrumental technology when it came to the quality and development of the guitars, amplifiers , mixer boards during that time in 1966. Aerosmith on the other hand's first studio recording of "Train Kept a Rollin'" was in 1973 then released in 1974 on their album " Get your Wings " . I like both versions myself . But Steven Tyler had been to the side of the stage watching Jimmy Page during the earlier years and said " That song blew his tits off while Jimmy Page was playing lead guitar as Jeff Beck had left the band.
