One more thing - run a final grind cycle after using the brush to clean the grinder clean stuff. You're bound to have a little bit of grinder clean grounds left after using your brush last time. Possibly even some bits of brush hair- yuk! Thanks for the tips.
Have you tried the Talkin' Blues, it's top notch and bob would definitely be starting his day with 1. And a massive zoot to go with it. Blue mountain 100% all the way 😊
Last time we drunk satanic coffee 3 of us. It was called satanic worship we got possessed by a real demon. And some come from Haiti. Our animals died we become aggressive. It’s not a joke. It’s like opening the door to the devil to destroy you.
I cleaned mine like a million times but today the parts just don’t want to go back in. Especially the hopper seems like it doesn’t want to go all the way down. Any advice?
That's an interesting one, I've only had it once where I've just had to fiddle about with it for a while but you're definitely not the only person to have had this problem. I can't find any definitive solutions but it may be you need to realign your burr grinders and there should be a screw to do that. I'll let you know if I find something else on it.
With delonghis it usually means that either a step has been missed or there’s still descaler in the system. Trying rinsing it through again with a full tank or open up the steam tank with a full tank until it’s empty.
KG89 appears to be the same model but with thin aluminium sheets on the sides. I just opened mine after about 8 years and it's strange how much the mechanism leaks. I found about two shots worth of ground coffee inside the machine, covering the PCB, motor, and other parts 😂
I've enjoyed Ueshima House Blend for a while now. It does say on their website "sourced from South America, predominantly Brazil and Colombia". "We even have our own coffee museum in Kobe, Japan, and coffee estates in Hawaii and Jamaica." Thanks for the video. 👍
you didn't need to replace with almost same machine, you should have learnt how to adjust the settings according to your requirements as mentioned above in comments.
After watching this video, Singh Beans did reach out to me saying: “Hi Vincent! Thank you so much for you review. We’ve watched your video and would just like to add to some of your comments. 1. The origin - its an classic Italian blend that was given to us by a very famous coffee roaster. So we thought it only fair to honour his contribution. We will update our website accordingly so thank you. 2. The grassy and dark notes you experienced may be down to how you extracted - we would typically recommend lowering the temperature of water for extraction to get the sweeter notes. If that’s not possible with your set up - maybe try a coarser grind.” They have also offered to send more of their espresso blends to try, so do keep an eye out for those in the near future.
Tasting notes are totally made up I think. Gives the reviewer something to say other than it's coffee! Did you not get a hint of turnips? I did. Maybe swedes too.
Well Chris, there is an element of truth in this. At the end of the day, coffee tastes like coffee but if you are drinking specialty coffee from across the globe every day, you are going to notice the difference. Some are sweeter, some more acidic etc. but you’re right in that you aren’t going to get one that literally tastes like fudge or chocolate. However, it’s a way of differentiating these slight differences and the more you drink of high end coffee, the more you’ll notice it. It’s what those notes evoke more than what they directly taste like. I understand your scepticism but the fact is, you can try 100 different coffees from all over the world and the growing conditions, roast etc. will make them all taste different. The same in that they will all, undeniably, be coffee but definitely different, just like whisky or wine.
No roast date on packet and unreliable roast date info They couldn't provide any information about their roasting dates but said all packets have a roast date. So i placed an order which arrived in good time yet without any indicated roast date. I contacted them again and suddenly they could provide information about roast dates insisting the beans had just been roasted 2 days ago and apologising for forgetting to stick the roast date sticker on the packet. I felt fobbed off by a bunch of unproffessionals off-loading dodgy stock which may or may not have been the case. To scew up on such an key element of being a small time roaster is quite frankly pathetic and unworkable. I wouldn't recommend this bunch of no-hopers unless you insist on them ensuring the level of labelling they sell their service on providing.
Well, I can't possibly speak for the organisation, having never worked for them, but I do know that slip-ups happen in hospitality and, if this was a one-off, perhaps it was a genuine mistake. I've only interacted with them a few times so can't say I regularly buy their coffee enough to know either way.
There are only the 4 clips - 2 on each side of the KG79. There are no clips in the rear or down the front. If the body of the grinder doesnt pull off, you probably havent popped off the 2 knobs (fine/course grind & time/#cups) - get those knobs off and it opens right up.
Thank you for the feedback. I've done similar things with other cold brew reviews where the drink has already been poured but that's good to hear and interesting to know that people would like to see the actual pour. I shall bear it in mind for future videos. Thank you for watching :)
Hey thanks for the review. I got this grinder recently and its been good but when i select a specific grind and start grinding the hopper moves slightly from the selected size like if i had it in t in filter it would move to the l every time and grind at that size. Is that nirmal or do i need to replace it?
Hey man, if you’re ever in the area then go visit Mouse Tail cafe in Whitechapel. That’s one of Mission’s flagships and they serve a wonderful coffee and the full range of roasts and blends. I feel as though you’ve not got the best out of this blend based on your review - give it another go at their cafe and see what you think!
Cheers for the heads up Mark. I have visited their Deptford location some time ago (and did a write-up for it for Get Bean'd - www.getbeand.com/london/mouse-tail-coffee-stories) and must agree I enjoyed the coffee then. Perhaps it was my set-up or how my tastes have developed over time but I will bear this in mind and re-approach it with an open mind the next time I'm in Whitechapel. Thank you 😊
@@getbeand Ah, cool! I didn’t know you had a website, I’ll have a look now. By the way I really enjoyed your review of Sustain, they’re the supplier for my coffee truck and do a wonderful job.
@@MarkHyams yeah, www.GetBeand.com. Oh, nice one, I like them a lot and they're local to me too. Let me know where your coffee truck bases itself and maybe I can come down and do a write up for you 😉
Great review -- I have some Red Brick that's three weeks out from roast so I'm ready to get stuck in. Could you let me know the temp/dose/yield/time you used here? Thanks!
Hi Thomas, thanks for the kind comment. I must admit, this was before I was recording what I was doing so I couldn't honestly give you a 100% accurate measurement from back then. I suspect, however, I was looking at about 20g for 26 seconds on a standard DeLonghi Dedica EC685 at the time but I couldn't say for certain I'm afraid. Sorry.
Nice, I pretty much only use aeropress too. The 'default' method is very good but definitely try some of the alternative methods - most of which involve filling up with more water and letting it steep for a bit so it's more a cross between a cafetiere and pourover . Very versatile thing!
Yeah, you’re right. I’m under the impression it’s more to get the taste of coffee in a very milky drink rather than it being a coffee drink with milk, if you see what I mean.
@@getbeand yes you are totally right. They shouldn’t sell it under the name of Coffee though :/ . When I get the same type of beverage from the brand Nescafé and Starbucks from the supermarket fridge, I can feel that there is a good amount of coffee and caffeine. Great video keep them coming :)
