Hiiii... Do u know... A film is also made on this novel.... But the director gave it modern look, modern situation and little bit of story change.... Movie name.... Omkara (2006)....
I'm in the middle of reading Meat at the moment and I thought they were a kind of zombie but not. and very much enjoying it so far. some great characters in the book but still in the middle of book I think every horror fan will love this book and if you not into horror give it a go I'm sure you will get a thrill to be honest I think this would make a great film and Dane you should look into this I like the new cover and still like the old cover
I just finished reading the book and came to see what people think about it! Even though I liked it, I got a bit disappointed that the alien thing ended up not being true haha
I heard this wasnt his favorite project and he even attented to change it. Even if that were true its still well written. Good movie GREAT novelization.
Actually, the B, A and F# on hide and seek are not played like you do it here. In the song B is barre 7 fret with the 2 first strings open. Same with A, but barre 5 and F# like you played it here, but again, the first 2 strings open. But yea, E is played normal. Regardless, what a nice performance, good job!
I could swear my high school had that book, but it also contained Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile. Am I remembering that correctly? It had me so twisted, I thought they were both penned by Bachman when it was actually Stephen King.
First book by Arthur C. Clarke that I bought and read, even though I don't really like rescue stories, I took the risk of reading this one before his more famous stories. I recognize the quality of his writing and hope to read more of him from now on. The Fountains of Paradise will be next.
Is this the one where they go to the sun to bring back a little bit of it, and they keep the inside of the ship freezing cold? I need to read that again.
Enjoyed the book in 2024 but had to laugh at how vastly different was the economic picture that emerged just a few years after publication in comparison to the one painted by Crichton. In fairness to him many of the facts he cites were indeed correct at that time (about 36 of the top 50 corporations by market cap were Japanese and today only 1! and their real estate values were 7x times that of the US - total value, not relative to size and so on - but the real estate and stock market values turned out to be bubbles in Japan and popped in early 90's and literally have never recovered, meanwhile the US economic power went through the roof and eventually China (and some other Asian powers like S. Korea) emerged as the rival economic powers and Japan dropped to number 4 or 5, even behind Germany. The Japanese take over of the economic world just went poof and now this book seems laughably out of step. Part of the reason for the Japanese collapse was the fact that Westen powers forced Japan to "voluntarily" change the value of the Yen - so perhaps one could say we eventually heeded the alarms from Crichton and many others. Economics is murky and complex - even a meticulous genius like MC only got it partially correct. If I had read this book in 90 I would have been hopping mad at Japan and ready for war, LOL. Amazing how quickly this all evaporated.
@@danecobainyes you are telling the truth I’m currently on “The Royal Book of Oz” the Scarecrow’s backstory of the silver Island is definitely amazing they should have The animated cartoon series of the entire Book Selection ❤
i bought this book at an old 2nd handbook shop because I've never heard of it before, but i recognised the author, and i figured it would be a good read. i was genuinely horrified by the stores he tells in this book. i feel like he describes the emotions and thought processes so well that even someone like me, a 20 year old who has barely any concept of a war, could understand. this book is easily in my top 10 favourite books.
Rev martin thought elisa was actually his baby momma that he wanted to kill because she was 16 and preggo with his baby. I think eddie kept her head because we was kinda obsessed with her ever since the waltzer incident, he was also a kind of weirdo anyway as we se in his later life. And hoppo killed mickey! Eddie explains it all right at the end
Loyd Sleep herbal infusion, soak tea bag in a cup of boiled water for 8 to 10 minutes, guaranteed a good night's sleep. They are selling at LIDL at the moment. I've been avoiding INSOMNIA for years, I'm gonna start reading it soon, I hope I get through it, Great Reading n' Review!😀👍
The reader, if it is a Fan, will Read the 1st Book, i Robot first, the Caves of Steel, then The Naked Sun, then this Book. Real Fans may really find that The Hero in the book is really Part the Author's real life when he had 1st marriage issues, and a 2nd Love came about. It only came to me, when i Read the part near the end when he said to her, we "write" to each other. He was ACTUALLY talking about "Janet". Oh, who she is? You have to read deeper into his real life. But in his real life, he married Janet finally. Thank god. In the book, he had to leave her. Peace :-)
