I have a great, great, etc, grandfather who was a hunter and settler here well before the Revolutionary War. One of his sons, my namesake, gave a fascinating history of frontier life here when he dictated his thoughts to a chap during his last years in Kentucky. I can't stop being fascinated with the idea of visiting Parsons to see the type of terrain he described. It looks stunning!
You should have included the beautiful castle nevermind who owns it. I moved here a little over a year ago. I love it never mind. I don't have trash pickup or recycling LOL. And I live off of a dirt road. After living here I would not want to move back to the suburbs of DC!

I have found that so many small towns around the world have far less "diversity" than cities. I, personally, have found Berkeley Springs to be more open to new ideas than many other small towns that I have visited in the United States and overseas during my 58 years on this planet. That being said, I would love for more folks from varying backgrounds and persuasions to settle here as I LOVE being among folks from different cultures and outlooks. 🥰

you cant "make" diversity happen. Its a natural course of events. Have you considered "diverse" people dont want to live there? Just like homeless people, sometimes "want" to be homeless. They like the life style. Yet do gooders try and force them to live conventionally. And yeah, I know people like that. Homeless = freedom for them. Its how they choose to live. Dont get me wrong, it isnt a bad thing to want more diversity, or the homeless to have homes, etc. Sometimes, being well intentioned does the opposite of what you want to happen.
This raw video shows the history of Fort Frederick State Park. This place shows how life was like back then, especially during the French and Indian War, and the American Revolutionary War. Of course, Maryland was involved in both wars during those days when these battles were around back in the 1750’s. And back then, do we even have technology, like TV’s, computers, tablets, smartphones, etc.? Do we even have fans and AC’s (air conditioners) back then? Do we also have electricity as well? The answer is no. Some people at Fort Frederick dress as British guards once people visit this historic place. I do enjoy visiting Fort Frederick State Park and exploring how life was like back then.

Home of the famous off road race the Blackwater 100. Part of the grand national cross country (GNCC) motorcycle race series. The last race was in 1994 and used to draw hundreds of riders and thousands of spectators. 100 mile race through the trails.

The first time we attended the festival, our first son was just a few months old. In this video, you can see our second son as a teen at about 0:46. It's a family tradition! ❤️ And, yep, that's Jennifer (Jensuya) belly dancing at 2:04. We will forever miss the creator of the Apple Butter Festival, Jeanne Mozier 0:58, who passed away in 2019.
