Worse, you want to keep your nose completely off the ground to keep as much speed as possible and keep your weight on the tire so you don't lose traction

@ORGANICTOWERS X10 have more aggressive angles and more importantly, are extended for use with a larger tire (specifically the Burris 11.5x7 TX11, which is around 12" in diameter). I wouldn't get X10's unless you plan on running the bigger tire. But the big tire is awesome for high speed and absorbing bumps and impacts, especially on trails

Thanks for your input. Really helps 🙏. Might go the x7. Another question my gut is saying go this route over a pint x or gt as I’m from Australia. I’m pretty tech savvy and a tinker so makes sense. If you were buying your 1st board again what would you get.

@ORGANICTOWERS In the states, for a first board, I'd probably go the more consumer-friendly option of an FM board. But being overseas, I'd lean more toward VESC for sure, especially if you are anywhere near some of the communities around there that may be able to assist you with your build, whether that be insight or hands-on help

@jakconnolly3412 The rails fit any XR bumpers and footpads just fine, any that fit on any other XR Rails. They're just extended length in the center, as to fit a larger tire

The gauges are custom made, being driven by Log data from the Floaty app's ride recordings. Unfortunately not too easy to explain or replicate haha, went through some effort to get them dialed for my vids.

This was in May 2023, so no GTS. There were a couple GT's that raced in both Pro and Open, but my first heat was all VESC, and the three finalists were all VESC

I've actually been running the BTG WTF Steeps since WinMan! Still dig both rails for different things though for sure, they definitely have some different areas where each shines. X10's are pretty damn nice for chunky terrain with fairly constant or slowly changing hill grade, since that steep nose gives you a lot to brace into and has a forgiving approach angle if it clips on stuff (especially nice if not running outward footholds). That said, for courses with lots of fast transitions (think pump track) and air time, I do personally prefer the symmetry of W's, just a bit more intuitive for manipulating board angle and managing both nose and tail clearance. W's were perfect at WinMan for that reason, though you could definitely go with either here, with the X10's shining in the fast chunky straightaways and the W's shining in the pumps and features. Full disclosure though that I do prefer the lowered height of the X10's (that's why I helped design them that way haha), so whenever I'm running BTG Steeps, it's with a .4" drop using Crazy Hubs. That combined with the slight clearance gains from Steeps and the bigger tire gets me back to around stock XR clearance and really nice stability.
