Cool but daycare isn't an issue for older kids. Too many people come to Europe and just criticize the US. You have valid points but are super biased.

I once got passout after a night out and hit my face on the sidewalk in Europe and busted my lips. An ambulance came to pick me up, took me to hospital and fixed up lips, no questions asked. I didn't even need to take my ID out. Also 25 days PTO alone is worth a lot more.

I’d rather take Europe’s side. A month of paid vacation leave, no need for a car, beautiful scenery, daycare.

That sounds all romantic and fantastic… But your logic will be under struggle once you take into consideration that the U.S. is extremely complex…. A very simple detail that will be unpleasant for you as long as you think too simple. I’ll give all of you an example, so simple but yet it challenges all your thoughts and political views for ever: The U.S. is by far the best country on Planet earth. Extreme income Extremely low violence Almost no homeless Extreme wealth Best Health Extremely Educated If all that does not apply to you or you disagree….we’ll you are not a Asian American ….

Smh to people comparing averages. US has a very diverse pool of jobs, making the standard deviation much higher than Germany. For example, in my field, you can be making $500k+ a year, whereas in Germany you'd be stuck at making $80-90k at max, and stuck there for life.
@peter_meyer

The actual real reason for this is the American financial crisis, if you compare these same things from 2016 it tells a different story. Also yes I know Germany is facing a financial crisis as-well because anything that happens in America happens everywhere, but it’s not as bad.

The paycut to live in Europe is fine because there is so many more benefits most the countries offer the counter the lower salary, the US even those making 6 figures are struggling with basic needs like healthcare! For fucks sake it costs you thousands of dollars to get driven to a hospital in an ambulance in a life or death situation😂

But there have been a few school shoutings/ killigs at german schools aswell like in Volkhoven in 1964 where Guy killed two teachers children with a flame thrower, or in Erfurt where an exstudent killed 17 people inclueding himself in 2002 or the schoolshooting in Winnenden where 16 people died inclueding the shooter in 2009.

You can't compare how much the cost of living is without salary. MOST people are complaining about not being able to afford living, yet MOST people don't work for higher paying jobs (or are lazy) and they OVERSPEND. The u.s. economy isn't doing it's best, but it's still better than the majority of the world. Wake up to your own incompetence.

I believe in Spanking. Now if that kid is not your, you have no right to spank them. I say that to say this Germany kids are some of the baddest kids I've seen. Example this German kid threw a rock and hit another kid in the shoulder and the parent didnt do anything all the parent said was in a soft voice hey you cant do that. Lol great parenting. I tell my kids this. My house my rules you mess up there are consequences in life. There is a difference between discipline and abuse. Parent should not be scared to discipline their kids without the government getting involved.

Sorry, how is it that they can avoid paying into the system? Are they able to use it when they retire despite not paying into it? Obviously, in the US you have many who pay into social security but make too much to ever get anything out, and Americans typically have their own retirement accounts anyway.

Sadly, it seems many of these things in Germany do seem to be sustainable the way they are practiced. Retirement for example, historically guaranteed by the government freeing citizens from that responsibility, is something my generation is unsure they will ever receive. Same with many social assistance programs, such as housing and Kindergeld for those who cannot work, since it has for many years been abused by those who do not want to work.
@peter_meyer
@peter_meyer 23 дня назад
There have always been people who don't want to work. The bigger problem is higher earners who set up their own pension systems, such as lawyers and doctors. They then do not pay into the general system and increase the burden on it.

Oh, yeah. I'm German and the cost of living in US is expensive. I've live their with my family on vacation and i had to do an extra job online to really meet to the cost of everything. I'd really prefer here in Germany. I save up more and I don't have to spend much and it's really helping.
