Welcome to the channel, I'm really glad you're here. My name is Ed. I have a Kubota B2601 compact tractor with several attachments. I also enjoy using my Husqvarna 455 Rancher chainsaw and like to weld with my Hobart Handler 140 MIG welder. I generally fix everything around the house and property myself when I can. There is always a project to do or a repair to make when you live in the country! Let’s learn and grow together. Bought one from Northern Tools. Lasted three months. Could not keep it up for the wind. Tried extra tie downs rope over top, nope wind took it down every time.
After you loop the strap around what you are tied to then run the strap loop through the eye of the hook and put the loop over the hook it can’t come loose. My trailer has a round top rail so I use one of those loops at each end of the tie down strap and it won’t bounce loose.
So funny, I recently discovered these little straps as well and thought how can I be in my 50s and never come across this strap. It has completely changed how i strap things down in the bed of my truck and I imagine they will come in handy for many other situations in the future.
For moving pallets I don't have any totes but it should work with them as well) that are too heavy for my FEL fork lift I use a fork lift attachment that I acquired for the 3-pt. on the rear of the tractor. This lifts much heavier weights. I use it with my Kubota B2710. You might want to look into acquiring one of the rear fork lift attachments. I do not have a quick attach for the rear 3-pt. but I know those are available as well to make the hook up easier.
I'm a week away from having my first tractor delivered, a B2601. Been binging your content! That said, I'm 5 years into a Mule, and I think it's the same as yours - MX EPS. I see that Sawhaul on your mule, got a link to that?
Congratulations on the B2601! You can visit sawhaul.com to find mounts for UTV roll cages. Be sure to tell Kenny I sent you. And you can save 5% with code MCG. Thanks much! -Ed
Simple but great. Link followed, 12K straps purchased (and some carabiners too). Thanks for the tip Ed. Also, that's a really nice bike...would have loved to hear it run, or even better, seen you take it back to the old place and jump the driveway! 😉😎👍
A problem many of us who own and transport sub-compact and compact tractors have is that the machines are not manufactured with adequate tie-down fixtures. Aftermarket shackles and D-rings can get expensive and tedious to install, but these straps can make securing to axles, loaders, and other accessible areas a breeze to secure to. They are also light weight and easy to transport.
Great video Ed. Thanks for sharing. Those straps also come in different lengths too. Great if you need to grip around the Rim of a Trike to transport. You need the longer strap for the spoked rims. Dan 😊
Ed, nice job with your setup. Some great wood to add to you pile to be seasoned. You should look into a 3 point hitch pallet fork setup for your 2601. You would be able to lift a full IBC tote of firewood on your 3 point hitch. There are a few guys with B2601's that had the same issue until they started lifting full totes on the rear of the tractor. Dan 😊
Great job, Ed. Are your ash trees dying? The ash borer killed them here in New Hampshire. I just had four taken down and had four other trees dropped as well. I like the Log Ox. I think I'll get one for my upcoming 8 tree limbing and bucking project.
