Hey there Mr and Mrs VacLab, I've always loved your videos, I managed to find my own curbfind vacuum, eureka powerspeed turbo! It actually works as the person who owned it didn't cut the cord (thank God) apparently they threw it out because it was so badly clogged, it runs, it's a bit loud but not exactly a screamer, I am so happy however
Hi! I have a Bissell turboclean powerbrush pet, and the tank is FILTHY! I have tried almost everything, but there are so many nooks and crannies I can’t get to. Plus, the tank can’t be disassembled. Do you have any tips?
You can make a cool Halloween ghost busters costume out of all of the pieces you have there that's what lm doing with mine if l can't get the roller Too start turning
These Bissells work surprisingly well for being Walmart cheapies. The filtration isn’t as bad as I expected either but something like a Kirby with a Hepa bag does much better.
How to clean your vacuum's brush head! Step 1: Disassemble the entire vacuum down to the circuit board Step 2: Clean brush head Step 3: Say a prayer and good luck with reassembly! Step 4: Become belligerent and swear for several hours. (Repeat if necessary)
One thing I've noticed about Hoover and their "commercial" line up of vacuums is that they're nothing more than a longer cord and a different color scheme. I know you're not testing a commercial Hoover in this video but am I right or wrong? I don't think that there's any more durable parts in the commercial lineup than that of the home lineup but you spend hundreds more!
This prolux did very well. I’ve honestly went from Sanitaire to proteam back packs for commercial use for similar reasons, I’m able to clean as fast as I can with a 16 inch Sanitaire and I can get under and around stuff a lot easier and a few other reasons.
I have a G5 you can have if you like. I have an Avilir 2 and a Heritage ii Legend- just want it to go to a good home. It’ll need cleaned up, but if you’re interested, let me know. I’m in NW Ohio.
Great video My kirby neutral was broken for years. Then, the forward drive started to play up A simple tap on the pin and works like new Will try the locking glue if the issue returns any time soon. Had it serviced and was told it would cost a couple of hundred to repair gears Great job
Those plastic full hood with the metal base are a pain to push even with the paper bag. I have two of them. You cannot beat a Convertible for cleaning. Hope you get a demo on an old Dial a Matic. They are a pain to push.
the fastener variety on a Kirby probably looks good compared to a Briggs and Stratton engine where changing out the pull start could be three sizes of fasteners often equaling 7-10 fasteners total. This is one of the reasons my small engine equipment is mostly Honda and Honda clones. That and the reliability of said machines.
If the air is going one direction through a filter, I am unclear why you blow air at it both ways in an apparent effort to clean it. I have much to learn about DC25s.
I was the one who sent you the cord. I’m glad it arrived and you were able to get use out of it. I had attempted to clean it as it sat in storage for months, but I figured if you decided it needed a clean you’d do so. Glad I was able to help you!
Kudos to Gilbert for donating a color correct cord, those are getting harder and harder to find these days. All they sell is the black cord (which is color accurate to the G4 and G6) because it's cheaper to manufacture these days.
A very nice presentation..just the way someone would experience once he buys the gadget for the first time. i will have to get the gadget. how about the sound decibal is it very loud? some of the issues to note..thanks
My son (5yrs old) adores your videos. He watches them over and over again. He is a vacuum collector/repairman himself, and he loves watching you analyze, troubleshoot, take apart, and repair vacuums . He especially loves the curbfinds. ❤
Ooh are those "food scale"s that are show in this video? Curious for regarding potental for usabilty for coin weighing or tiny amounts of scrap metal use etc.
Ooh please try the material from stock years of each sake bags that you have order to see if the various vpfabrics are al equal or if one is different than te amotnvfo dustvt makes from oen thatvs a different kiry model... not counting the prpttype reuse bag of the g3 unless you want to... only once on youtube seen a g3 with reuse bag/sanemtor for g 3... to begin with but yeah.. just curous if they tightened the weave since so many existed... heck FOUR variation of official bags existed for Kirby omega models.
@@VacLab heheh yeah I figured it was a long shot but I think the strange part about this is.. why would they have bothered trying to use the shakeout bags emtor for development of the generation 3?
@bsanchez3563 The change to bags was primarily caused by increased filtration demands in the industry. By the 1980's, consumers didn't want shakeout bags and Kirby would lose sales. Frankly, I've always been amazed that they didn't switch much sooner.
@@VacLab wait is that mean in the 40s through 70s it as in kirby actually even doing anything different to make efforts of improving the soil retention and it merely was a hoax and changes to or fro wool, cotton or "cordoroy" or "tighweave or microweave" was a ploy to simply not have to change more than the feel or textures on a fabric and the dye coloring of it.. for the classic omega or even classic 3? Or did they improve in any honest way what I assume they claimed... cause it seems the materials vary but yet they mention nothing in consumer versions of the paperwork for those models. Or any pre like g4 model the effectiveness of the soil disposal methods one way or the other.. other than that a disposable filter bag inner type must be used and installled before you begin vacuuming. Also a follow up qiestion ks the reason paper at best or even if lucky static layered single or dual layer white paper vs brown regular level of filter bags are used or at worst the shakeout leaks like a sieve even is visible if clean an new.. held up to the light through the sanitaire style of shakeout bag.. for commercial buildings to simply save money by keeping people in darkness about the health risks etc.. and cleanliness kind of like when asbestos was denied to be hazardous from the 30s to mid 70s by the bussinesses? Legit am curious is why.
I've a 1989 Tristar cxl 50th anniversary edition like what you have and the power is unbelievable and last week I bought the pre filtration bags and the power so strong it can suck up a water bottle cap and it's so amazing for me to own a late 1980s Tristar cxl 50th anniversary edition vacuum anniversary edition
Does anyone know what the purpose is of the plastic hook piece on the metal pole just above the extension wand button? It is visible in the upper left corner at 5:30 on the video. It isn't the removable attachment holder; it's something else.
I just got this vacuum from my grandparents! It’s been in their attic since the 70s and I’m going to be using your videos to clean it up and give it a little refresh. It has the regular carpet head, as well as the “Rug Renovator” kit with all the attachments. It has the “Spray-O-Gun” too. Really looking forward to cleaning it all up! My grandparents said they bought it from a door to door salesman in the late 60s.
Posting this comment after I just finished rebuilding my 93’ D4C SE. Thank you so much for going step by step and helping me rebuild my childhood vacuum! 😁
Thanks so much for this informative video. How did you manage to open the bearings ? I have tried with a little screwdriver - nearly as small as the one shown to sample grease- but I cannot get this bearings to open.
