really good mini doc, that bloke Pete that keeps popping up, not so sure about him, is that the famous "Poster Pete".... Screen print is great for any pre 90s design style, anything after is to complicated and need digital. KISS, keep it simple stupid
A great watch, thanks for making this. I’d love to see a follow up where you get into what makes a great film poster. Perhaps you can get into what the artists process is when it comes to tackling a new brief. Also what the fans like and why.
If you like Norman Rockwell and styles similar to his, check out our Swedish counterpart Carl Larsson. A world famous top of the line illustrator/painter but much earlier, 1880s.
WANT TO HELP US COMPETE PART TWO? We're currently in the process of filming a longer version of this short so any help would be greatly appreciated - www.gofundme.com/f/in-search-of-poster-art-a-documentary
i think the movie poster biz will last. theres as much variety in the art styles, composition, and "feel" of an alt movie poster as there is in the entire movie industry.
Wow that poster collection is awesome, I collect star wars myself but don't have that many yet. Will hopefully find more for my collection too. Thanks for showing yours. 😁
Fantastic work! Interesting and really well made. Loved hearing what inspired and influenced the artists. P.S. check out "24x36: A Movie About Movie Posters"
