I think I would work backwards adding the pleat value onto the centre back of the pattern and then making sure the top and the hem of the pattern are at right angles so when the piece is cut out on the fold the top and hem are straight lines.
I would suggest keeping one of the back darts for tweaking the fit. If you would like an A-line look, but with good fit, you could try a gored pattern.
Thank you for the great example of forming and stitching the placket and tucks! I'm learning just like so many people. If there is any discrepancy between the length of the two seams after being sewn, it might also be because too much pressure was applied by the hand while the feed dogs grab the lower level during the feed. ie differential feed idea. Holding the tail end of the fabric up, and over the hand slightly is great technique. Awesome!

Highly appreciated generously sharing your expertise! Two extra questions if I may: How do I match the curved shoulder seams in a kimono pattern to make a "seamless" yoke? And how do I create horizontal folds/gathers in front so that they are not on the bust line but above it? (To disquise the hollow chest problem.)🤔🤔🤔
