🌟 Video tutorials on creative & easy jewelry making and crafts 🌟
Hi everyone! I'm Helena and I absolutely love to create! Anything and everything! I sometimes feel like my head is going to explode from thinking about all those new DIY projects! I'm really into straight forward and quick DIYs (as patience is not something I possess) and therefore I try to come up with new ideas for cool yet simplified DIY projects. I also love to explore different materials and techniques to challenge my creativity and to get out of my comfort zone. It's so exciting trying new things! Being a woman I adore jewelry and I really enjoy making my own pieces as I just love wearing unique accessories 💖 Come and craft with me 😊
I believe It's the oxidisation process that causes the dark colour, if you wanted the more standard engraving, consider a desktop CNC machine, which doesn't use laser but a very sharp tip to engrave/cut.
I am glad you found the information helpful, here is the link to the work bench I have. It is the 6 ft option. arborgardensolutions.co.uk/products/acorn-kiln-dry-wooden-workbench.html
it does go slightly into the surface so it is slightly engraved, you can feel the difference with the your fingernail. It's just not very deep. I am planning to make a video on this topic very soon.
Thank you ☺️ I get the stainless steel from Temu or AliExpress, but the plated brass from an Etsy shop. I believe xTool sells nice stainless steel jewelry blanks too.
i prefer no stone and no music, the music cutting in and out is not aesthetic and is distracting to your beautiful stage setting and fine teaching. Less is better.
Hi! Love your channel - new subscriber. I'm going to have fun binge watching your videos! Quick question --- Why did you cut the business cards with scissors? Can it not cut that metal, or does it just take too long? Thanks 😊
Aww thank you and welcome to the channel ❤️ the xTool F1 can’t cut metal as the infrared laser is not that powerful. It’s a really cool and useful machine, but there are some limitations with it. xTool has just released an updated version of this called F1 Ultra and I have seen others to cut thin metal with it as well as it’s more powerful. It’s linked in the description in you want to see what it looks like 😊
I love that you are taking us with you and letting us se your journey! Noone starts off being perfect in anything, so don´t even allow that thought to take any place :) and I´m sure you know by now that me, personally, I LOVE pieces WITH some flaws/imperfections, for me that is whats makes them perfect in my eye, it makes every piece really unique 💜💜💜 I think that´s why I prefer handmade over what a machine makes! Soldering jewelry seems like a lot of fun (what was it in the pot for the last dip for the jewelry? ever since I was a kid I´ve always wanted to try silversmith branch, my mom interned for 2 years when she was young before she got married...anyways, it seems like you just need a few special tools to be able to set up "shop" at home, or am I mistaken?) One day I will try something like this too!!! Thank you for sharing this with us luv :)💜 Sorry for the looong comment! lol
Thank you so much for your comment and encouragement ❤️ I always seem to move to something new and I guess that stops me from getting really good at something.. but the new experiences, trying new techniques, learning new skills is just too exciting for me and I can’t help it 😁 How wonderful your mum was a silversmith/ goldsmith, there u go it runs in your blood, maybe this is your sign to try it for yourself 😉 there is really not a whole lot you would need to start and you can always just practice on bare brass and copper rather than silver. But I’d like to warn you, it can get quite addictive and if you get into it more you might end up like me-buying too many tools, stones etc. I use our kitchen table as a jewelers bench but would love to have a proper one one day. I hope you will give it a shot lovely, it’s kind of empowering ❤️ Oh and there’s a pickle solution in the crockpot to clean the jewelry after soldering. I use Picklean, which is non toxic xx
@@HelenaDaydreamer Pickle solution...sounds tasty lol I love trying new things too, there is just so much to try out! My ADHD side craves all things new, my Autism side just want to stay in them and learn as much as I can, how it works, why it works, to what end can I create with it :) and just like you, I tend to get in a phase and buy too much, but on the other hand, enjoy it while you find it interesting and fun!!! Arts and crafts of that type, you can always take a break and try something new and circle back to it later on when you are feeling that craving for some new experience :)💜💜💜
@@CrixJoki It seems like you would be awesome at silversmithing(or anything that really catches your interest) ❤ that’s brilliant 🙌🏻 and you’re right, I do tend to go back and forth between the things that interest me, I started to learn silversmithing 3 years ago and now I just came back to it to carry on. Can’t wait to go back to oil painting again too and airbrush 😁 there’s just so much to do and so many things to try 😄 love it ❤
@@HelenaDaydreamer At the moment tho, my brain is all about growing my own garden and baking, but I am starting to miss both painting, sewing and and bead work, and after the move I have my own room to set up shop, so I think it´s time to get things ready in there so I just can sit down and start whenever the mood sets in! :D Oh, and I have to say that YOU are awesome in a lot of things, I have learned a lot from you and you really inspire me in ways that few can 💜💜💜
@@CrixJoki Sounds great ❤And I love seeing your cooking and baking on Insta, those pictures make me hungry :) Enjoy your life and whatever makes you happy ❤❤❤
Hey I am trying to start my engraving business on gold filled, how can I get this black color engraving? Did you select any option in setting or its already built in
Hi, there are different settings for different materials. The engraving will come out this dark automatically(if you select the correct settings in the software) if you are thinking about starting an engraving business, especially for jewelry, I’d suggest you checking out other machines xTool offers. Especially the new F1 Ultra, which is a fibre laser/ diode laser combo. Perfect for metal engraving. Or the original F1. I have videos of the xTool F1 if you want to check them out and will be reviewing the F1 Ultra soon, so I’d encourage you to do some more research to see what is the best option for your needs 🙂
Depends on what material you’re using and the settings. It’s like patina(oxidation) so if the jewelry constantly rubs against your skin, or if you keep wearing it when washing dishes etc it will eventually get lighter in colour. It’s not deep engraving, but you can feel the texture difference for sure.
Stepping out of my comfort zone and soldering jewelry 😊 I know these pieces are not perfect and there are other ways to make them and other tools to use, I'm just sharing my journey. I hope you enjoy watching this one and that it perhaps inspire you to try something new as well. You are amazing and you can achieve anything you wish 💖
hi i want to make customized name initials necklace of gold plated stainless steel for my customer, I have a question when I cut the metal do I need to polish it and if yes how can I polish it as I know the cut edges don't have the gold plating
This machine can’t cut metal, you’d need a really powerful fiber laser, probably industrial type. Some less powerful fiber lasers can cut thin sheets of metal, but those would probably not be strong enough for necklaces. This machine can mark the metal and engrave and cut various types of other materials.
Thanks so much for this video, I just ordered an F1 yesterday with the bundle kit. It came with the air filter and the rotary, etc.. I cannot wait to receive it, I just subscribe to your channel. Your videos are great, I love the way you explain things. I feel like you take the time and show everything. I can't wait to engrave some rings! Thanks again your videos are great!
That’s amazing, I’m so happy for you! ❤️ I’m sure you will have an amazing time playing with this machine I just love using it, it’s so fast and easy to operate. Be sure to use a good quality protective glasses when using with the rotary 🙂 thank you for watching 🌷☀️
what do you mean by my line per cent? if I want deeper engarve I need more line per cent? if I want to engarve my mom's handwriting in my jewellery how can I do that I have it in pdf
Line per centimetre is a setting in xcs: ‘The amount of line the machine is burning back and forth in actual one centimetre of an area’ this machine can mark the metal and depending on your settings you can have just a light surface mark or deeper mark, but it doesn’t engrave very deeply. If you want deep engrave consider F1 Ultra, which is an upgrade to the F1. You can use different files in xTool creative space, not sure about pdfs, but there would be ways to go about that too. Like screen shot pdf to create jpg and then trace the image in xcs for example..
PIIIGGGGIES :D My brother has an older filament printer, he made me a watercup with pegs on the bottom for my painting setup :) easy clean for the acrylic paintbrushes ;) His machine can´t print this small and detailed tho... I really liked the little jars you made 💜💜💜
That sounds awesome! ❤ There are so many things you can make with a 3D printer, but it does take time and patience 😊 Glad I finally had a go at this and stepped out of my comfort zone... Take care and thank you for watching ☀
Wow...that is so cool...love it....btw helena, would you consider doing more resin jewelry tutes?....that would be awesome....great job and ty for sharing it with us ❤
I'm happy you liked these projects ❤ You know I am really tempted to get some two part epoxy and start experimenting with it again, I used to work with epoxy about 10 years ago, before having kids and it was fun. So it's a possibility ❤
Have you ever tried 3D printing or are you planning to do so? What do you think? I hope you enjoy watching this video, it was a learning curve for me, but it also helped me explore more ways to be creative 💖
Hi! I just saw two of your videos about this and xtool D1 pro. I want to engrave photos on stainless steel. Which one do you think have better finishing results? 😊
Thank you for your video. I have a 4" Visosun w filter. But I quickly found out I needed to vent outside. So I also adding a 2nd inline suction fan to pull the smoke as I have about 12 to 15 feet of hose from my P2 to the outside vent, so when my inline pulls the smoke from the acrylics towards the outside vent I added this from amazon. Very afforable to get and simple to add. Just this unit plus 2 4" clamps. Hon&Guan 4 Inch Inline Booster Duct Fan with Speed Controller - 130 CFM Airflow with 6W Ultra-Low Power and Low Noise. It was like $24.00 delivered by Amazon I just figured the faster I can get the arcylic smoke out of my garage the better. When I go to the 1/4 " or 6 mm acrylic I have to slow my speed which make for way to much smoke. I found out due to my many years in the chemical and oil business I am very sensative to the fumes. Again thank you for your video.
Thank you so much for sharing ❤️ so do you also use any filtration system when you vent outside? Or just the booster fan and ducting? I’m still trying to come up with something that will quickly get the smoke out of the machine, but also filter it before venting it outside..
