Sorry for the late reply, yes I did both driver and passenger door. Driver door first then passenger door after few months as the same thing happened with that lock. Seems like a common problem with these W204's. Fix still works on both doors
Hi.. Ive tried the driver side door.. Cut both wire and connect it but still not working.. It just open n not close.. I switch the wire it just close and can't open.. Only two wires for the driver side door? Or? Tnx
Hi Shahrol, sorry to hear you having trouble. All other people that did this and Followed the video came right. You might have other problems then. I would start by testing the individual door lock and apply 12V to it, should either lock or unlock. Then reverse polarity by swoping wires around it should then do the opposite (unlock or lock) this should confirm your door lock you baught is OK. If door lock you baught is fine make sure you connected to the exact same wires as I did on the video (gray black and gray blue) . If it still does the same then their might be an issue with the actual door controller. If you connect it and press close on your remote and it opens then just reverse wires and should work correct. Hope you come right
Just thinking now, your remote might also not be working properly. Try locking and unlocking your car from inside with the door panel connected and pressing on door lock and unlock. Just to eliminate issues on your remote if anny
Hi, no you don't have to code anything. It's just there to read and clear error codes. Basically just showed that once the fault is there you can clear the error message that's stored on cars computer. You can do the rest and should work fine. Always good practice to disconnect car bat before working on anny wiring Let me know if you came right. Couple of people did it also and works perfect. Hope you come right👍🏼
@@mercedesrepairs4833 Thanks for the answer. The actuator has already been replaced with a universal, everything was as it should be and money was saved.
Hi, sorry for only responding now. Always good practice to disconnect the battery when working with your car electronics and stripping anything. I just made sure my key was out and not in ignition and not to use key while wires disconnected and open. Besides its only the 2 wires for door lock you'll be mending. If you feel safer disconnecting bat then I would suggest you do so. Let me know if you came right. Mine still working 100%
Sorry for only responding now, not sure as I did both front doors. Perhaps take the rear door panel off and have a look I'm sure you should be able to make a plan to get it to work on rear door also. Hope you come right👍🏼
Did you do the same procedure as the guy done in his video because I have the same problem like yourself. Did you buy off the market or the original part ?
It's a cable to release the door handle. Just take care when removing this as there is a plastic part that can break that will prevent you from opening the door from inside.
