Dear HANC, As the former co-chair of the Advancing Clinical Therapeutics Globally for HIV/AIDS and Other Infections network (ACTG) Global Community Advisory Board (GCAB), it is with profound respect and scientific camaraderie that I express my sincere appreciation for the video interview opportunity to hear from Christopher Tunstall and Sandile Benedict Khumalo, the newly elected GCAB co-chairs. The discourse provided an invigorating glimpse into their strategic vision for steering our collective efforts towards future advancements. During my tenure as GCAB co-chair from 2019 to 2023, I have been deeply inspired by the dedication exhibited within our community. It instills in me great confidence that under the stewardship of Christopher and Sandile-fondly referred to as Benedict-the ACTG community's pursuit of groundbreaking research will persist with vigor. Their innovative approaches, coupled with an unwavering dedication to our common objectives, are pivotal in driving us closer to achieving a definitive solution for HIV. With the complexities inherent in emerging therapeutic strategies, particularly those involving analytical treatment interruptions (ATI), present formidable challenges. Nevertheless, securing community engagement remains imperative. I am optimistic that the new leadership possesses the requisite acumen and resilience to navigate these intricacies effectively. Leadership is characterized by an astute awareness of knowing when collaborative input is essential, a quality both Christopher and Benedict should know and will strive to exemplify. In solidarity with fellow seasoned community leaders within this domain, our collective resolve towards eradicating HIV remains steadfast. HIV cure is achievable. Our synergy fortifies us as we continue this critical endeavor. I extend my gratitude to HANC and Brian once more for orchestrating an introduction to our new GCAB co-chairs leaders and facilitating this interview platform for them to articulate their forward-thinking perspectives. With warm regards, Orbit Clanton Former ACTG GCAB Co-Chair
