Welcome to Marty's channel, I'm a down to earth mechanic that fixes everything from disk cutters to heavy goods vehicles and everything inbetween, i spend most my spare time in my garage so thought it was only right that i share what i get up to with youtube, hopefully you will like it and follow me for future videos.
Just wanted to say a big thank you for the video! It was super helpful and easy to follow and enabled me to change the rear discs and pads on my Transit Custom today. Thanks again! 👍
@@igorchuchro4991 It took most of the day around 6 hours but we were also doing the pads on a mate's van at the same time. I reckon you could do it in an afternoon if you have done it before and have everything set out. Worth the time to me as a local garage quoted £350 and I picked up the parts locally for £85
As easy as that nice one thanks.. FYI The Cable stretches over time and needs adjusting even after fitting new pads.By adjusting as shown it will have even pull on the 2 wheels.. always check wheels move freely with handbrake off..This tells you calipers are OK and no seizure to worry about..
Fords are rust buckets. Terrible lack of protection against corrosion. Don't lift the car using a trolly jack under the rear beam. You risk bending it.
You made that look easy.I cant understand people who just change 1 spring to have to then change the other side shortly after it breaks.I have a leaking damper drivers side rear and the broken spring is on the same side.
Excellent video mate.. I just got my son an lt50 it’s in great shape however it hasn’t started in so long so I changed the petrol and a new spark plug it started but it’s spitting a lot of oil from the exhaust and it’s smoking a lot.. could anyone help me with this one thx
Great video, the best I could find. Fluence 1.5dci I've a fluence, there's loads of them in Ireland. Theres a plate with 2 bolts covering the fuel input to the engine which I'd recommended removing as its hard to click off the input otherwise
Very helpful vid thanks. How exactly did you measure the 21mm inside the gearbox? Also I spent ages reading the Ford manuals & couldn’t find anything that stated gearbox oil levels, can I ask where you found that info for future reference? Cheers
This video was very helpful but doing the nearside/left side it was not that easy. Visibility and hand access seemed much harder. I found the damper was in the way.
With any type of motor that has the same symptoms as yours (needs a little knock or push) then it often just new brushes that are needed. They are just a few £.
Hello Marty! I recorder that video to ask you if you can advice me: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mp8e981YHtk.html Renault Master 2013 2.3 125, 250 000km of mileage. The pipe is not collapsing when I rev the engine up. But it has a big turbo lag , and from my observation and based on my measurements via bluetooth interface - it seems it has a problem with transitioning from "no turbo" conditions (like going downhill or with a wind from the back) to the acceleration mode -> it waits for 2-3 seconds and then it accelerate/jerks "rapidly" (if renault master can accelerate rapidly ;-)) I put some informatino and screens on my video. My mechanic (two of them already...) replaces bunch of parts/ or swapped others: parts replaced: - air flow meter - exhaust temperature sensor parts swapped for the test (didn't help): - vacuum pump - egr valve - TURBO BOOST PRESSURE SOLENOID - boost pressure sensor but nothing has helped so far. Could you give me some hints where to look? Thank you :-)
hi Mate A BIG THANKS to u for this vid we are travelling n the light just appeared Still hv 1000klms to home n it's a Saturday afternoon in regional Australia Cheers it great to hv access to YOUR vid
After watching literally 30/40 videos looking for torque settings and procedures etc I came across your video and wish I found it first, It is the best on RU-vid, Thank you.
Replaced my RL ABS sensor this evening, but sadly the ABS and traction control lights are still on along with the warnings about hill start and city stop. I fear the problem might be else where i.e. broken wire or dodgy connection somewhere on mine. Accessing that torx screw was bit of a pain, trying to see what you are doing and finding a angle to get the screw driver in.
thank you so much, you're doing a great job! Just one question: why do you remove the steel bumper too? Is this actually necessary? I want to install rear parking sensors on my 2015 transit custom. Thanks for reply!
Mine was a bit trickier ! It’s a very earlier mk1 and the mechanism was completely seized at the top. I found the plastic tang at the top was a bit different with a plastic round locating stud which wouldn’t break ! Ended up hacksawing thru the plastic and then it detached.looking at it on the bench, I could see that you just need to get a flat bladed screwdriver to one side of the tang, the plastic is designed to lever off. Took about an hour and a half.
Great video, thanks mate, Question. What if im using nolathane 46444 bushes instead of the oem ones. The ones i got each side comes with 2 pieces. Any tips do i have to still mark it?
