I've had one for a few years, last use, I blew foam tires off the rear rims , not cheap to replace , impossible to repair, unless its a static model . Just dusted it off this afternoon and with recharged LiPo batterie its now its flying, I'm very impressed with my brushed model . I have a small farm and huge flat fields to race in.🤗
I made mine based off of the one from DDM, but I didn't like how the center was bent. This is the second one I made. First one the material was brittle and cracked. I found a softer flexible material and I used a heat gun to soften up the material and bent it to my liking. Sorry I just make my own parts for my toys. Thanks for the compliment on my custom part :)
DGI makes wheel extensions for this exact application? Or is the same as the Losi DBXL application? Can you please provide a link where I can purchase a set of wheel extensions for the HPI Super 5SC!
Losi DBXL are not the same. TYPE "HPI baja wheel extenders" without the quotes in Ebay. or click the link I have posted Do not try to use Losi Extenders. King Motor/ROVAN/HPI BAJA Extenders are interchangeable. Choose the lenths you want to extend. www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&_nkw=HPI+baja+wheel+extenders&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_odkw=HPI+baja+wheel+extensions&_osacat=0
thats why i run pig rich fuel mix {some say} may be i loose power/rpm but even in my old weed eaters saws i tune n mode them 24:1 or so mix with a rich wide open setting it better self govern and gargle at wide open throttle or its lean chain saw tuning video on YT will show this tuning.but it can happen at any time various resins..that for videos sir be blessed
I was determined to get the pretty aluminum ones to work. If your not comfortable with it use the plastic ones. I don't think you will notice any difference in performance with plastic or aluminum. It was just a visual thing for me at the time. :)
@@JamesBrown-sv3km nothin wrong wit small bore it’s all about having fun sometimes more power more headache 🤕 can’t wait for my new small bore I have on the way lol
Brandon This was a one time custom item that I made. It was all done by hand welded together and sanded / Polished so you didn't see the welds. It took me more than 4 weeks to make. I'm glad you like it, but I cannot make any more. Thanks for watching. :)
Hello friend I have been on looking forward to a vid you have some the best mods that you come up with on your own hope all is well and that put some new content up soon
Hello back to you. I have been very busy this year. I have been working on my toys, but I haven't been thinking of making video's for some reason. I will have to remember to do that. Thanks for watching. :)
The steering dynamics are not off. That is called ackerman steering. Its what is used in kart racing and other open wheel racing. The inside wheel depending on which way your turning will turn more then the other.
Justin you are correct, but I had the rod end on the wrong side of the servo saver and it made the steering arms at an extreme angle. That made the Ackerman Steering twice as bad. Once I put the rod ends on the correct side of the servo saver the Ackerman steering wasn't so extreme.
@@JamesBrown-sv3km are you using the symetrical steering? I currently have my rod ends on the bottom side of spindle and servo saver. Not sure if this is correct or not though
@@judd913 Yes I am using the Symmetrical steering. Mine are now on the bottom side of spindle and servo saver also. I had it incorrect with the Rod end on the upper side of the servo saver, but the spindles were on the correct bottom side. Had some extreme ackerman steering angles.
Great video! I purchased the Rovan/Team Chase roll cage for Baja Max 5T and I couldn’t make the cage fit correctly. Now, I know it can be done. Yours turned out really well. Thanks for sharing!
Dynamite Fuze™ 800Kv brushless motor and a 1/5 8S Fuze Brushless ESC. Together, they will allow you to slingshot across the terrain at speeds of 50+ mph* on 8S power. *With optional gearing.
Great vid! I got the Rovan roll cage to but the sides dont line up on mine either pretty much had to force the side mounts in! Did u have the same problems with the side mounts?
I ruined my body after the race even with team cage roll cage and plenty of shoegoo. I waiting for the TMT unbreakable body from turkey . I’ll make a video when it will arrives....
I'm still around. we raced all summer and I opened a new You tube page. ru-vid.com/show-UCoNrJWigyt2uv9sJtcvY67w I still have all my toys. Just been busy with life and other stuff this winter.
No it was not brushless when the video was made. It was the stock brushed motor with NiMh battery, but I bought the brushless kit and now it is brushless.
It doesn't sound like you are a beginner if you are asking about arduino or raspberry. I had to look this up to answer your question. This is what I found for an answer. They would highly recommend using an Arduino for servo control. Arduino is better suited for external hardware control, especially if timing is crucial. This is because the Arduino doesn’t have to manage many processes at once, like a Raspberry Pi does. An Arduino can focus on one thing at a time. A Raspberry Pi is much more suited to graphics and heavy computing. These functions of a Pi can be utilized with Arduino if you establish a serial connection between the two boards.
@@JamesBrown-sv3km Hi James, thank you very much 😄. Can you please remind me the value of the torque in N.m or kg.cm of the first servomotor (HP845 HITEC)?
Hey man, I got this car recently and it keeps stopping if I go full throttle for 2-3 seconds and takes 10-15 seconds to stop, the seller thinks it’s the battery but another person said it was probably the ESC, what do you think?
James Brown no but I did order one but it’s with an unstrustworthy shipment company so I don’t think it will come but I’ll be able to order another, I hope it’s the battery, that will be much easier
No RC is reliable when they go 40mph and hit something or launch off ramps. LOL. This is more a bashing vehicle. I have a lot of fun with it and I'm glad I got it. :) There are a lot of upgrades out there to make the important parts stronger. If you look at some more of my video's I have some custom and bought upgrades on this buggy
DDM Racing has the quick connect linkage that bolts to the carb arm and rod. RED www.davesmotors.com/Replacement-Ball-Connector-w-Sleeve-2-56-for-DDM-Losi-Throttle-Linkage-LXYCH3.html or BLUE www.davesmotors.com/Replacement-SULQ1591-Ball-Connector-w-Sleeve-4-40-for-Full-Kill-RC-HPI-Baja-Linkage.html . You then need the longer linkage arm By Du-Bro 4-40 thread X 12" Long linkage rod. You will have to cut theses to size. Don't worry about cutting it wrong you get 6 pcs in the package. www.ebay.com/itm/Du-Bro-802-Threaded-Rods-4-40-x-12-6/392739347090?hash=item5b7116da92:g:Ir4AAOSwc1JefA1d (Ebay Or where ever you can find it)
If you are on facebook look up the Kraken Vekta.5 KV5 & KV5TT group. They have a lot of info and ideas for you when your building these monsters. I am also in this group. :)
