I feel like 1:11 doesn't get talked about as much as it should. It's so harrowing and ominous, it begs you to wonder what happened to all of the Sentinel places. Gets me super hyped for Dark Ages, when we see them restored.
For widescreen I've gotten this trick semi-consistent by facing the left ridge on that same mountain (the second bump from the bottom). It also makes it so the ammo box isn't necessary for the setup, meaning you can cram yourself into the corner and shoot a rocket to damage yourself before the end
To be honest out of all the bosses, doom hunter base had the most evil sounding Ambience sound and the most anticipation and built up before the fight. When I played for the first time this was the part where I was like scared to face off him For other bosses I didn’t feel scared I knew they were too powerful and I’ll die a million times But this one I genuinely felt that chill due to the ambient music, the atmosphere and feel of the whole level of doom hunter base and the amazing build up to the fight
I've recently finished DOOM Eternal. I hate this song, but at the same time it's stuck in my head. A beautiful landscape, but this music is a creepy reminder of what's going on. It might be my favorite place due to how well-designed it is. Urdak is the only location that actually made me feel uneasy. I fought demons, yes, but the silence and loneliness that came after it was genuinely unsettling. Nekravol was disturbing, yes, but this is somehow worse.
