What do you mean by "Only logged in users"? In addition, can one save a report with all the photos and comments in PDF format and enroll, or save each inspection as a file?
Hello, thank you for reaching out. I appreciate you doing so. InfoPath is now a legacy software package and is no longer supported. This means any solutions that are built are likely to increasingly fail as updates to applications that connect become incompatible for example SharePoint. PowerApps powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/?ef_id=2a568ec4e406131abfc0efa671643de6:G:s&OCID=AID2200056_SEM_2a568ec4e406131abfc0efa671643de6:G:s&msclkid=2a568ec4e406131abfc0efa671643de6, and MS Forms www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/online-surveys-polls-quizzes are the way forward.
Thank you. Is it possible to have Submit options that can be programmed in so that if the DataConnection is not working, the Submit will switch to a Email mode. But if the DataConnection can be established, then the data will be Sent to a SharePoint List. So the Submit checks for DataConnection first and then decide whether to Submit it online to SP List or if no connection, Send the data an Email.
@@cloudhound2362 Thanks for the reply. Yes, I heard that it is being discontinued, but unfortunately the company that I am working for is still using it and is the only product available at the moment. So if you have any quick tips on detecting the presence of dataconnection that would be helpful.
Wonderful teaching skills.. but I have a doubt.. how can we hide a single item from a drop-down(which having 10 items in drop-down coming from a list through data connection) that is from secondary data connection, and the remaining 9 should be visible.. can you please explain me this issue..
Thank you for a positive review. I must advise you Microsoft has stated InfoPath has now reached the end of life. The problem with resolving legacy software issues is what functions today might not tomorrow. Microsoft PowerApps, Flow is the way forward. Have a fabulous day.
@@CloudhoundCoUk But presently I'm using infopath for my project.. there is no other alternative rather going with infopath.. please suggest me what can I do for the above.. in the drop-down case to hide only one item..
@@jyothi1988 You could try a filter. social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/67257d0c-4d75-4fba-9174-4c7f3e8cd317/hide-item-in-a-sharepoint-list-after-selecting-the-item-using-infopath?forum=sharepointcustomization but that's problematical. You could try a secondary list. The software version you use will determine your options. Contact Microsoft support but do remember they will say it's a legacy product and no longer supported. If you have software knowledge then a hack might be your only option. Best of luck.
This is a great video thanks. I have a question. I have created info path document that builds forms etc and I have yet to figure out how others can update or modify if. Not sure if it has to do with permissions or not any advice. Thanks
Hello, @Steve Rooke Firstly thank you for taking the time to reach out. I appreciate you doing so. Regarding InfoPath modification. You need to grant users permissions to do so. I should point out InfoPath is a legacy application (reached end of life). I suggest you look at PowerApps, Flow for future developments. Have a fabulous day.
Thank you. Microsoft has announced InfoPath end of life support.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/search/920 MS Power Apps is Microsoft replacement. I'm developing MS Power App, BI & Flow training programs. Have a fabulous week.
Hello, Can you help in restricting the section access based on the user logged in. ie we want certain user as admin and certain people as normal user. Can this be done? how to do it? Can you please guide?
Hello My Social, The functionality you seek is possible however you may be better off looking at MS Power Apps & Flow. The principle reason InfoPath has become a legacy product. Assuming you do manage to configure the capability you require there aren't any guarantees that it will work for you in the near future given Microsoft strategy to end InfoPath. I recommend you seek to develop MS Power App & Flow skills. I'm in the process of building courses for these products but my courses won't be published until the autumn. Thank you for taking the time to reach out. I appreciate you doing so. Have a fabulous day.
Excellent video - do you cover the advanced feature you spoke about at the 8:43 mark anywhere or can you point me in the direction of a clear tutorial for this?
Microsoft InfoPath is now a legacy product (i.e. no further development - end of life). Microsoft Power InfoPath has been replaced by Power App & Flow. I'm currently developing tutorials for these products. Thank you for taking the time to reach out with your question I appreciate you taking the time to do so. Have a fabulous day.
Thank you for the Tutorial, it is really helpful. I have a question here, you mentioned regarding add groups in infopath. I was trying to do the same, however unlike you I am unable to find an option "Type" post right clicking and ADD in the Insert a filed section. Are you aware of what must be causing the issue ? Thanks
Hello Raahesh Microsoft is no longer investing in maintaining InfoPath i.e. it's now a legacy application. Microsoft Power App, Flow are replacing InfoPath. What this means is interface with other interdependent applications will begin to fail as updates are implemented. Hope this helps. Thank you for reaching out.
Thank you for this great video, very clear and to the point. One question, I tried to drag and drop a field into the box (Form) but it didn't work! I've tried different examples with no success! I appreciet if you can share your thoughts on this. I am using Infopath 2013. Wondering if I need to set up something to get this working!
InfoPath is a legacy product now. While it is possible to continue to use InfoPath it will become increasingly more challenging to do so. Microsoft strategy has been to integrate products with Office 365 for some time. Microsoft has replaced InfoPath with Microsoft Power App powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/ and Microsoft Flow flow.microsoft.com/en-us/ it really depends upon what you wish to achieve. I hope this helps and thank you for reaching out. I appreciate you doing so.
Dear, Thanks for the video. I´m working with big lists, and because of this, the form is too much slow at opening. I tryed to unselect the "automatically retrieve data when form is opened" 's check box and the form open fast, but the form lost the value in some fields that are using the data from the list, when I open it after send the data to sharepoint. Could You help me? Thansk again. Regards. Dan
Excelente ejemplo de la funcionalidad de un formulario creado con Infopath, la música no es ningún problema. La velocidad en la que se explica la temática es perfecta.
Hello, I'm pleased you found the video of help. Templates I don't have. The principal reason is I generally find template modification to fit the project requirement takes longer to configure than building from scratch. I suggest you take a look at S Y M Wong-A-Ton, InfoPath 2013 Cookbook 2. The series of books may offer what you require. Although not templates as such. All the very best with your project.
Are you using Azure SQL or an on-premise SQL server? Either way you can. Take a look at the following: www.bizsupportonline.net/infopath2010/connect-infopath-2010-sql-server-2008-table.htm support.office.com/en-gb/article/Add-a-data-connection-to-a-Microsoft-SQL-Server-database-c26193cc-8520-4941-adec-1df637bbf03a support.office.com/en-gb/article/Add-a-data-connection-to-a-Microsoft-SQL-Server-database-c26193cc-8520-4941-adec-1df637bbf03a blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/infopath/2007/01/29/submitting-to-a-database-via-web-services-in-infopath-forms-services/
This is awesome! I tried multiple other methods before finding this video. Wish I would have found this first! This was very clear and helpful in explaining the steps. Thank you so much!
Hello sir, I am developing a Leave Approval infopath form for my Office. It would take input from employee and then proceed to take approval from incharge, manager and chief serial wise. Now, the employee name, his incharge and manager should be looked up from Active Directory. I thought you may help me in this project. First, I need to link my infopath fields to Active Directory and then move further. Sir, I would be grateful for help. naveed.akram52@yahoo.com naveedakram52@gmail.com
I'm assuming you use on-premise servers. Active Directory links to InfoPath form shouldn't really be a necessity nevertheless I can understand your desire to create such a lookup link. Try Safari online books and look for 'InfoPath 2013 cookbook 2' by S Y M Wong A Ton www.safaribooksonline.com/library/view/sharepoint-2013-wcm/9781849686587/ admittedly this book is SharePoint focus. Try www.bizsupportonline.net/about-sym-wong-a-ton-infopath.htm and try to reach out to S.Y.M. Wong-A-Ton directly. Good luck.
Hello! Thank you for the tutorial. One suggestion - the music at the beginning is really loud. I had to turn down my system volume. Which meant I didn't hear you at all when you started talking. Took me a minute (was pulling up my own spreadsheets) to realize you had already begun. Modulating the sound level would be lovely. Thanks!
