I just purchased/pre-ordered the 10 inch VIP Eagle from the Jaimie/Gerry Anderson Store. It looks like they changed up the detailing on all of the shoulder/fuel/landing pods, the command module and looks like new panelling details on the center VIP pod/module. Can’t wait to get this one!
Jan’s video needs a smoke machine underneath it to simulate the VTOL rockets underneath, making the Eagle look like its either lifting off/launching or landing.
Hey, everyone. I just got an email from Sixteen12. No more smaller diecast models from any Gerry Anderson shows. Sixteen12 even cancelled its 12 inch Eagle launch pad model! Current costs to produce/manufacture/ship and store inventory has gotten too prohibitively expense, with the way the entire world is, right now. So, no more Gerry Anderson scaled diecast models, any longer! I am soooo bummed out about this! I am glad for the collection of these, that I currently have/own. Very sad to learn that today’s world economic climate is soooo bad that Steve Walker and Sixteen12 had to suspend all of their small diecast model business.
MPC/Round 2 needs to make an easy to assemble, “snap together” Eagle model kit! Ban Dai did this with the Star Trek ships. Why not for an Eagle? I could build one of those!
I can't believe every Eagle/Space:1999 fan has watched your channel/stream. I never, ever see anyone here, post after the fact. Sorry your laptop got stolen. Have no clue why your Mac crawp’d out, being brand new. Big bummer on that! Glad you had some form of computer to do today’s stream. A guy, by the name of Mr. Trek, that is building both an 8-9 foot Star Trek TOS Enterprise ( 1/100th scale ) and a nearly 40 foot version( 1/25th scale ) got his three wheeled battery powered bike stolen and had to purchase another electric bike. What is going on with people stealing other peoples’ stuff?
An Eagle, seems to me, NASA could have actually built, as we have seen it ( though, probably be floating in it or being held down by magnetic boots to the floors of the Eagle ). An actual Eagle spacecraft, as it was designed and visualised, is completely possible/probable with all the given technologies of both the past and present day!
Got ZERO notifications about your stream today. Watching this at 9:30 pm. Jan has been posting a couple of videos of his final, finished and painted Eagle!
It isn't lost to me that the Day Zienia passed away was a day (and 19 years) since the Moon broke away from Earth. This year will be the year when the exodus to Terra Alpha, and Sandra's message, would be recorded and sent.... to be received 25 years earlier by Moonbase Alpha.
A really wonderful tribute to Zienia from Nick. It was great hearing it in his own words and reflections of his personal experiences with her. She was truly a sweet and beautiful lady.
I was 15/16 when Space 1999 aired. I had a great teenage male crush on her, which never abated. I remember reading about her passing in 2018, but did not see this tribute until today. Wonderfully done, Nick Tate.
I understand what happened to Zienia. The English producers didn't make her work, she would have had to go and work in the USA, but she didn't want to leave her family. Martin Landau wanted to take her under his wing and introduce her to American producers he knew. However, there was an underlying reason: already, in 1974, Martin was no longer getting along with his wife Barbara, despite appearances. He was secretly in love with Zienia, which explained his kindness towards her, but the beautiful Zienia did not let it count. Finally, she remained in England, pulling the devil by the tail: she accepted everything and anything to live, she did not even have a pension, she was forced to work until the end of her life to survive, which aged her prematurely, before widespread cancer killed her. In short, a waste, a pure waste...
Not really, no. "He was really good to me," said Zienia...A little too good for my taste...He stroked her head between takes, in "Alpha's Child", the pre-credits sequence, Martin takes her almost in his arms, Sandra plays her role as a childless woman, he does a little too much in consoling her, I also learned that already at that time, he was no longer sleeping with Barbara, they were rooming together. share...All these little details combined which reveal many things...
Hi Todd, On my new laptop, still trying to get use to it, cursor is very sensitive. I am looking forward to your next show - 21st April is it? I have downloaded 'Zoom' - and if you can send me the link please, I would love to join you for a few minutes. Thank you and best regards, take care Todd. Ray (VFS).
I really wonder why no one else finds your RU-vid videos here and comment? I feel really alone here, all the time, commenting to your videos, past when it, originally, live streamed. I never see any other comments other than your replies to me. I feel like I am person stranded on a lonely island, here all the time! I thought 2025 is the actual anniversary year for Space:1999? My plan was to pay my tickets and hotel reservations, in advanced, for Wonderfest in 2025.
RU-vid, for some reason deleted my first, original comment to you. Not sure what the issue was with that comment, unless it was just too long. So, I abbreviated my latest comments to you.
Hi Todd, Did you ever get my email to you? You never replied back. It was just an email updated you on my recent move. You need to get Jeffrey, at some point, during the production, to make contact with Mattel toys, to “put a bug in their ear” to do a new, special edition 32/33 inch plastic Eagle playset. If the pricepoint is right, I'll be “ALL IN” to making an advanced purchase of one of these! The original 1975 ones are just too expensive, on eBay, for my wallet! Would purchase a special Mattel Eagle if the price point was around the $300.00 U.S., or even a little lower. My wife had a fit, when I purchased two of the three MPC/Round 2, 22 inch, pre-assembled/pre-painted Eagles, off of eBay for around $400.00 each, about 2-3 years, ago! Once she saw them, though, she understood why these are as expensive as they were on the secondary market. Can't wait to, finally, properly display these and all of my other Space:1999 props, ships and helmet! If the pricepoint is right, I’d, also, be very interested in purchasing one of Jeffrey’s custom FutureDude Command Eagle models from MPC/Round 2. I'd seen his original images of this and that Eagle design looks really good. Still looking forward to a purchase of the documentary coffee table-sized book, when this becomes available. Purchase of that book will be a “no-brainer”! 😊
Ohhh, Ohhh, I just got one of those Space:1999 Comic Anthology books! The Anderson Store was running a sale/discount on this book, so I purchased this! Beautiful book in a very large size! Most of the comic art is really great! I think some of the better comic artwork does look better in the black and white comics, though! I wish this comic anthology contained all of the Carlton Comics versions, as well, though. These are the Space:1999 comics, I grew up with, here in the United States. The Carlton Comics Space:1999 versions are done very well, also. I suspect a second Space:1999 comics anthology might be forthcoming, soon!
Continued from my previous comment Of note, I just recently purchased one of the very old and very rare, SanDiego ComicCon, limited edition chrome/Silver plated, 12 inch, Product Enterprise Eagles, from early 2003, from someone selling theirs new, never opened, on eBay. It wasn’t cheap, though. I never liked the gold plated versions of these 12 inch Eagles as I never thought the gold plate/color never looked right on an Eagle. The chrome/silver plating looked more natural, to my eye, looking like a new, shiny, bare aluminium or stainless steel or titanium alloy built Eagle! I plan on opening this and displaying it in a clear display box with a landing pad/lift graphic at the base portion of the display box, to more properly showcase this Eagle!
Hi, Todd. Somehow, RU-vid hadn't sent me a notification about your stream, today. So, once, again, missed the live stream, today! I do not know if you ever got my email to you, as I never got a reply back from you, my wife and I, finally, moved into our new apartment, by the March 1st weekend ( the move went really fast and very orderly/methodical ) and it happened all within a six hour period! We, now, are taking a needed physical and mental health rest before starting to bring back some of our stuff, from our, very expensive, rental storage area, into our new apartment rental. Can't wait to, now, have a nice, clean and proper room to showcase all of my Space:1999 Eagles, props and helmet! I'll have just a small amount of my Star Trek higher quality props and 3D printed props and just a few starship models on display, as well! AND a location/library area to bring back and store some of my better Sci-Fi books, too! You need to let Jeffrey know that he needs to make contact, with Mattel Toys, to give them a chance to think about re-making, a limited, special edition 33 inch Eagle playset, once more. I can't really afford any of the nearly finished , cleanand complete Eagles, that are on sale, on eBay, as these have been too darn expensive, for my wallet, to ever purchase. If Mattel can re-make and re-manufacture their Eagle for something like $300 U.S., or less, I would be “ALL IN” on one of these. My wife was pretty P.O.ed at me when I decided to just go and purchase two out of the three Eagle MPC/Round 2 pre-assembled/painted 22 inch Eagles, on eBay, for over $400.00 U.S. each, around 3 years, ago! So, if Mattel decided to think about re-making/manufacturing/re-selling an more accurate and more up to date, limited/special edition 33 inch Eagle, at a reasonable price point, where Mattel can still make money, I would be able to, finally, acquire one of these to add to my Space:1999/Eagle collection! Back in the day, my Mom and Dad got me the Space:1999 metal, diecast green ( why on Earth paint an onscreen white Eagle green! I always hated that! ) Dinky Eagle, the Mattel Space:1999 character figures and vinyl playset ( which I still own, without boxes ),,but I never got the large Eagle playset. I always wanted one of these, but supplies of these must have been severely limited, as I never saw these, in any stores, after the holiday season. I was still only 12-13 years old, at the time, but I had always checked the toy areas for the Mattel Eagle any time I went with my parents to a department store, and i never came across the large Mattel Eagle, in any of these stores! So, I gave up the hunt after the following holiday season. I was very sad and upset about not finding one of these 33 inch Mattel Eagles for awhile. I never encountered one of these 32/33 inch Mattel Eagles, in all of my travels, over the years, until I started getting involved with purchasing/buying items from eBay and all the various sellers/resellers
Thanks for your question @panoramaproducts2789. That was a 44" eagle built by Mike Reader of Canada. The nose does extend to view the radar compartment. His take on where it should be on the eagle.
