I remember being at Misano 20 years ago watching the World Superbike round there, and Troy Bayliss dominating the weekend. My dad and I had flown into Bologna so he could cover the launch of the 999. We toured the Ducati factory and had lunch with their executives, then they loaned us an ST-4 and the Carabinieri gave us a motorcycle escort all around the city. We took off to the Adriatic coast to see the Superbike races, and got to do a lap of the track afterwards before heading off on the Motogiro for the next week or so all around central Italy. What a trip.
