I am still looking for the Russian fairy tale in which Alexander was born. But can't find it any more. Does somebody have the link to this fairytale with beautiful music?
HOW WONDERFUL TO HEAR FROM HIM IN ENGLISH AT LAST (whether dubbed or not). At this time of terrible such poor relations between Russia and much of the rest of the world over Ukraine how very fortunate you can bring out something positive in music we can ALL ENJOY!
Thank you Alexander for this update. Enjoy your stay in the beautiful mountains near Aspen. Still looking forward to your concert in Amsterdam on 28h of september 2024. 🎹🙏
Oh my God, that was so lovely. I’m not sure but it seems to me sometimes he incorporates his own interpretation on the timing. I’ve noticed that when he plays Edvard Grieg’s piano concerto in A minor opus 16, that he plays with the timing in the adagio sections and makes them uniquely his own… he is so incredibly gifted.
Wherever he lives, his Russian soul and musical talent is in him. And when it is about Rachmaninoff's compositions, Alexander stands out by conveying the beauty and contrasting emotions of the melodies.
Alexander, I've been following you on YT for a few years, and I truly appreciate how you bring joyousness and deep respect to the music and to your musical gifts. I'm remembering Robert Shaw saying something like, "The music isn't complete until it is performed and _received_ (heard)." To which I might add, "and felt". I _feel_ the music when you share it with us. Kudos!
I love Rachmaninov, I love to play along his 5th which is actually his second symphonic. Yet beautiful transformed into piano work. But you are definitely top player and your Rachmaninov 's are stunning to listen to. I can feel how much you love his work, you ouse the beauty of his work. It always opsets me to know when he left Russia because of the war, and he lived in America, missing immense his homeland. He composed his 4th piano concerto and played it, as he had to earn his living. Yet the response was poorly, yet it is masterly beautiful. I listen to it a lot. He was a great pianist., great composer....

WOW. I’ve got goosebumps! Superb ❤. Dear Alex when you said it was like the sea - a storm - that’s exactly the feeling I get when I hear this piece, and now I always will. I can’t believe you played that for that small audience - how lucky were they - I hope they know they know they just witnessed a genius at work/ play. May you go from strength to strength 💐💐💐xxx
I have always hoped that Alexander would play Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. Now it is especially wonderful to hear him play it, since it is the 100th anniversary of its writing and performance at the Aeolian Hall in New York City in February 1924. Hopefully, we can hear and see Mr. Malofeev play it in its entirety one day soon.
