This was nothing more than an attack on the family. How about airing the Kennedy family's dirty laundry. This was nothing more than a Gerry Springer or Dr. Phil show where the aim was to make fools of the unsuspecting victims to make money. You should be ashamed of yourself and your family.
I grew up in Eastern Kentucky in a place called Lewis County. Had to live and do alot of the same things these people did to survive. At the time i hated it , looking back, i wished i could relive it. The minute my life got complicated with money it began to suck . Everyone should experience this kind of life one time .
You can’t see it when you’re in it but I assure you these people are happier than 99.9% of people these days. I grew up like this and hated it. Now I’d give anything to go back to that way of life.
Im not sure I understand the point of the director showing this movie but I will say that I did something... I learned that beautiful families flourish anywhere and this here is one of the most beautiful . Thank you Iree for your wonderful work and pray to God your resting in peace. This is white privilege? Many from the Appalachain area have lived with little more than a roof over their heads. None of the so called modern neccessities, no running water, coal or wood for heat, a two room home for 7 or 8 people, hunting and farming for food, no subsidized health care, just doing what it takes to exist. I remember children walking over 2 miles to school (because of state mandate) and how I respected them for their actions. I know some still live this way, but it is very few compared to 50 years ago. They don't want to live this way, many are really intelligent, opportunity just hasn't found them. I am thankful that my father moved to where jobs were available and was able to give his 6 children a better chance at success. None of us are wealthy, but we all have far more than we need. Good hard working people will pull themselves up if give the opportunity, I wish that for all.
He said years ago man walked on the moon and I don't have running water!! It makes me think can the greedy people of the world today survive like these folks?

I hate to take this political, but i seen this was done back 9 uears ago , my question is how did the family do under the Trump term , my bet goes on that nothing changed. No president can change the way the big corporations are messing all of us up .
