This is the exact same recipe I've been using for years. It's always a huge hit with my family when they're in town and we have family breakfasts. So quick, so easy and sooooo delicious! I love mine with some tabasco on top. YUMMMMY! You cannot go wrong with this breakfast casserole.
I make this cake so often. The recipe that I have says to melt the butter and cream cheese in a sauce pan then stir in the powdered sugar. Pour mixture over batter. I get the same effect. 👍🏽
I made them vegan by using flax, eggs, instead of chicken eggs, vegan earth balance buttery sticks instead of oil, (it is what I had on hand). They turned out great!
I would probably just add them to the top, since the marshmallow mixture would be pretty hot, it might melt the chocolate chips if you mix them in with everything. I think the mini chocolate chips would be great. Once the bars are pushed into the pan, I'd just sprinkle some choc chips on top and then sort of push them into the bars. Maybe about 2/3 cup of the mini ones.
Oh definitely, if you love walnuts and raisins, I say go for it! I am personally allergic to nuts, so I almost never add them to anything, but they would go really well in this bread though.
Thanks for watching! I hope you love this chocolate pudding cake. If you make it, try it warm with whipped cream or ice cream - so good!. I've added the recipe and the link to the printable recipe in the description. If you need metric measurements, you can go to the recipe link and there will be a metric button under the ingredients list on that recipe card. Happy baking!
I made this today and it is so delicious but SO RICH! I cut a piece and could only eat about 4 bites.. I changed the recipe up a little, I toasted my pecans and also sliced almonds in butter, I used more than a cup and then also added about 1/2 cup to the top of the cake as well. This is a great recipe!

Sorry. I really don’t know what else would work. The marshmallows are what holds everything together and makes it chewy and sweet. Maybe someone else will pop on here with another idea though.
Just waiting for the oven to preheat I tasted the batter. They taste yummy. I'll let you know if they fail but I don't see a problem. ❤🎉. Thank you. I'm making half the batter and freezing the rest after scooping into balls. Am freezing them before I put them into a container for the freezer to make 2 or 3 at a time. I don't need that many baked cookies laying around. Thanks again for sharing.
Hope you love them! Just a quick note about freezing the batter. These cookies contain baking soda as the leavener and so if you don't bake the batter soon after making it, they may not puff up as much when baked later on. That's because baking soda reacts with liquid, but not heat. Just thought I'd put that out there. They might be better baked, then frozen. ☺

Made this today ! Absolutely delicious… I did add a bit of coconut and dark chocolate chips not a lot just enough . I used applesauce instead of the oil. Absolutely the best recipe for a starter recipe. I love easy recipes. I had bananas on my counter ready to be used and found this was perfect. Thank you !!!
