Battling With Bourbon is simple. It's everything bourbon and everything wrestling.
Your co-hosts are: Rockstar Jonny Nigh & Michael D. Verduzco, or M.D.V. for short.
Every week we'll be hosting Taste Test Tuesday, bi-weekly Fresh Crack Fridays, along with an end of season climax of Battle of the Bourbons. Tune in for more.
Any chance this was the Federal Hill label? I was just allocated the Federal Hill 11yr from my local shop and it's 137.4 proof. Paid retail at $399. Hoping this was worth the squeeze. Seems like you guys enjoyed!
The one I’m seeing for federal hill is 11yrs but the proof is slightly off at 137.4 so I don’t believe they are the same. But if it’s anything like this one it will be well worth the money.
First to RU-vid with a review of the Rebel 100 6 Year! Been lookin' for this review! Perhaps an even more interesting comparison would be how the Rebel does against the Holladay Soft Red Wheat 6 Year seeing as it would be wheater against wheater.
New to bourbon. Didn’t know about the Russel’s 10 recipe change. Have a bottle of the new stuff. Would be interesting to try new vs old. I’ll keep an eye out for the OG juice.
Well though I don't hunt for any BT bottles the eagle rare is far superior to the Russell 10. Russell 10 is good but somewhat lack luster. The single barrel is way better and I believe that bottle even though not always a ten year is just better because of the abv. Just my opinion but it's a good take on this situation. Enjoy.
Hell yea! The Russell’s SIB is one of my favorites and is still a good go to for me! It’s was close for me. On a different day I very well may have chosen the Eagle rare. Stagg (Jr), and Russell’s 13 are my two favorites but we haven’t cracked those for the show yet
This is a good example of a bad way to approach tasting. There is no winner ever, just preference. sometimes everyone agrees, sometimes they don't. As for myself you can put almost anything against Dickel, and the Dickel loses every time even though it's honestly incredible bourbon/whiskey ... just not for my palate.
Most of bourbon is subjective so you are correct in the fact that there are no real losers or winners just losers and winners for this particular tasting at this particular time. I do appreciate you took the time to watch and comment on our video, thanks again!
