I miss how sieges used to be, before the update. Now you basically successfully repel one wave and capture an entire army that still outnumbers yours 3 to 1.
That was great! Saving your men's lives by holding a whole wall on your own. Could have pulled all of your archers back and moved up some infantry on the walls when the Vlandians start breaching the walls, so you can use most of those archers for a final stand on better Highground.
I had an epic siege of vlandians roll through against one of my Battanian castles with level 1 walls and only about 300 defenders against something like 1500-2000. We ambushed them early on to take out their battering ram and siege tower, and I managed to take out some of their commanders before ending the skirmish. Going right into the assault on the castle afterwards, I happened to have two fire catapults stationed just above the gates. As they came up with their heavily armored troops bunched up under the ladders, just within tossing distance of my catapult ammunition dump, I went from like level 5 to level 72 throwing ability in one battle with hundreds of kills to my name. When the pots ran out I just posted up with my bow and headshot them climbing the ladder like a really easy game of duck hunt. They retreated after losing their first 500 troops, proceeded to TRY AGAIN and I got to repeat my fun little game of burning men alive
@@myonionsmatter7843 a dozen good men can fend off hundreds, that happened a lot in the history. Castle garrisons were extremely few, 30-40 men at most. Thats why sieges were mostly about starvation not direct assaults.
@@orbit1894 please, his source was "I remember reading this thing...." and a dozen absolutely cannot hold off 500. . a very real example is battle of Saragarhi. and the defenders were valiant albeit unsuccessful
High endurance and high athletics skill + perks (e.g. in athletic you can get +5% movement speed, + 5% movement speed if you are not holding a shield or ranged weapon and stuff like -35% armour weight (your load out weight slows you down). To increase athletics you need to fight on foot, to reach max level in any skill you need at least 8 attribute points in the corresponding attribute (so endurance in this case) and 5 focus points. Easiest way to train this is just to attack looters and tell your entire army to retreat and mow them down on your own (2handed axes can hit multiple units per swing, which is quite useful for this), or put them at the back of the map and tell them to hold arrows if you are unsure whether you can beat them all on your own
Every single shot you fired at that battering ram was wasted because you stopped firing at it and it got to your gate. Either focus on the siege equipment exclusively or on the enemy troops exclusively.
This man plays on the difficulty he enjoys the most, that makes the game enjoyable for him, and haters here are bitching about the fact it's not "Bannerlord" difficulty. Boys, if you like cock and ball torture, that's fine, but not everyone enjoys that lmao. When you're besieged by a huge army that's epic no matter what smh.
I did something similar on Bannerlord difficulty, but it was 2100 vs 450. We won easily, but their army was not as elite as this one was. Still impressive.
