Love to death the color scheme. To many things I'm not seeing though. Where is the transom door, where are the side doors for dock boarding? Not a fan of the pop up speakers that I've seen on this boat and some other fountains. This isn't a disco, If I want to listen to music that badly, I'll stay home and listen to a REAL Hi Fi system. Put the steering wheel in the center of the console or move the compass to the left and put it where it belongs. No head? Hope it's under the cushions. Pretty nice otherwise.
The most important this is to make sure that you flush the engines thoroughly anytime that they are in salt water. I also recommend pumping an antifreeze through them when you are putting the boat up. That will help to prevent corrosion inside the water jackets of the pipes, then, make sure that your remove the plugs at the water collector for the headers, and drain them completely. Letting them sit with water in them accelerates deterioration. On the outside, make sure that they are washed down to get any salt accumulation off, dry them, and spray them down with CRC or WD-40.
@@paulcalisi5515 No it's not the money. Permits have time limits to them. Say between 9am and 5pm on a Saturday per state you are in. So if anything happens out on the water and you break down, you would have to get a hotel for the night, leave your million dollar boat in a parking lot for the weekend and then re apply for a new permit to get the boat home Monday morning. Screw that. Here in PA you can only apply for a 1 day permit each time within the approved time schedule.
Thanks Capt Steve..GLAD YOU ARE BACK AT IT!!!! This is the perfect boat vs our Offshore perf cats and V-bottoms. I can still do the Florida Poker runs and take family, friends and teach the grandkids some fishing..All in one boat at the perfect under 40' size. I like the new direction and quality I have seen from Fountain in the last 6 months. This will be my next boat...of course w trip 500's. Great review as always.
hey Jeff, thanks for the feedback. I'll forward to the factory so they can let Capt Steve know. Please let me know when you're ready, and I can get you additional information. I do have the factory's new brochure on the boat. If you will reach out to me via email, I'll send it to you. Regards, Martin Sanborn - Sunset Boat Sales (martin@sunsetboatsales.com)
$59,500 is about $24,500 more than I'd be willing to pay and that offer would be after I had the hull inspected for rot as unfortunately fountain hulls are known so well for. Just a recommendation, maybe consider leaving out the music and tell us about the boat instead.
Is the trim on these types of boats locked together? This may be a dumb question but I know one of my relatives had a boat with twins and it had separate trim for each out drive but the steering link on this boat looks like it wouldn’t allow that Thanks
The drives are trimmed individually, but the tie bar does limit the rage of motion of the drives when operated independently. Also, on a staggered configuration like this boat, if you bring one up and the other down to their limits, you will actually bring the drives closer together at the propellers and it can cause significant damage.
I can really recommend Montereys - feel free to take a look at my 214 Super Sport Bowrider ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YXF6aEkFvIE.html
Absolutely one of the better boating videos posted, love the sound of those sci engines when they are full throttle, great looking boat, thanks for sharing, stay safe and enjoy
Sorry for the delay Ramon. This particular boat is no longer available. It was sold. There were not many of that model built, and there are none listed on the market presently through the MLS. Might I suggest a 35? There were significantly more of those built and they are much easier to find. Please feel free to reach out to us at martin@sunsetboatsales.com and I'll work on helping you find the right boat.
Hours: Port - 294.9 Stbd - 294.6 I don't have the generator hours but can get them. There are more details on the boat on the boat's page: www.sunsetboats.life/monterey-378se
