The Twin Rocks of Bluff become the Triplet Rocks! Very impressive...except, you forgot to put a little stone walled granary against the cliff. I hope guys are doing well. Heading toward your ice climbing weather again pretty soon. Chris
What an interesting way to add an active element to a diorama! Do you watch Boylei Hobby Time? Hes got this "Wild Imaginary West" series, where it's dioramas of the wild west, but with monsters. My favorite is the Slide Rock Bolter ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_vFE2gT8kSQ.htmlsi=0vNhGiOErgupIUFX ,
Hey Dana, really love your videos; I used to watch them all the time. I came back and see most of the old ones hidden - if this is permanent I understand, just curious if I should keep checking back or not. Hope you've been well, love the lessons your videos have taught.
Love your videos and 'GoPro shut down', or close to that. So for a number of reasons, including a diabetic cat, who has recently past (best ever) (for all time) (in the universe), we have not been able to get to Blanding, Cedar Mesa for a number of years. We were hoping to get to the Lizard Lodge sooner than later. Great video of that and we enjoyed their website. So, we can hike some, but I'd like to take my fat tire bike as well. We've seen videos of Arch canyon and that could work, but do you have any other suggestions? Blessings to you and yours. Jim
As an artist who is OK with a brush and a pen I'm not adept with mechanical things. This almost equals your hikes in Canyon country! But then no artist can equal mother nature.
WOW! I'm even more impressed now that I see it in action. I really like how you put in the track changers. I used to make these kinds of things with blocks when I was a kid. I couldn't even have dreamed of something like this.
Just did this section at ~800cfs and its very fun but serious water for small craft, by the simple fact if you make a mistake and swim you are going for a long fast rocky swim with few eddy's. At 800cfs the flow along shore is moving at speed so self arresting is very tough and tiring. Don't take this section lightly, it is none stop rapids.
@@danahollister4084 The lower section (5mile put in to almont) is excellent to get a feel for the faster flow and prepare you if you want to try the upper section. The upper section surprised four of us how fast the water is at 800. It's awesome until you swim (3 out of 4 of us swam.. and we raft often) Thanks for your great video and information!
Thank you for sharing your adventures! Did you bring your own rope for the exit of Peekaboo? Did you think the climb was easier going up or going down?
sweet! going out there today, ill be doing helmet peak whoch is around 11,200 but im also going with a ar-15, bunch of ammo, a Ruck that will last 3 days of sustainment, and doing some training up there. super excited, gonna get a pic ofe and the group holding a american flag up🤙🏽
Dana, quick question regarding the Taylor River. I am playing in Colorado right now and am confused about the river gauge. American Whitewater has the gauge listed as the one coming from the reservoir currently at 202 CFS for about a week now. However, there is a gauge farther downstream in Almont, reading in the mid to high 300s. You mentioned CFSs for your decent. Which gauge should I truly be looking at? Thanks and looking forward to your reply!
gauge at Almont also includes several drainage's (like Spring creek which add quite a bit of water). I usually average gauges at Almont and Taylor damn to get a good estimate for this section.
This is a fantastic video with great insights and instruction. Thank you so much for doing this and make it available for beginners and enthusiasts alike!
Awesome video footage. I live in Gunnison and im shooting to run the taylor on my paddle board this spring. This video is a vary valuable resource and i appreciate it!
@@danahollister4084 if you really want to know something you go to the end. I mean a carbon dating could have placed the ladder in a time frame. Then, what happened after discovering the cross? Are you only the creator of the video or are you a part of the team that went up there?
