There are a few actual marked ones in there and tons of Renegade Trails that are real good you just can't get caught on them. Heres one good one: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eYEAjhf2Tww.html
Use to camp on that rock in high school. We called it the rock house. Its the best place to to see the brown mountain lights ever! Hundreds of lights from that rock every single night. Its amazing.
I am no expert on them, but have been happy with this GoPro 7 and a clamp on chin mount so you can switch helmets easily. You can turn it vertical and do shorts like this as well I am learning
It is a good one. Just keeps going.... I have never made the other side. I need to park closer or stash some gas cans next time. They have made some big changes to it since I had been in 2020 which skips one the fun areas but it is a nice trail they added
Was not expecting that big of drifts left. It was fun though. Just glad you could go on top of that one. I had just busted through a big on at the top of the Star Connector to get there.
@@KnoxOffRoad Nice. Star Trail is pretty gnarly too, especially going north to south. Last year after American Flag, I took a new single track (found on Google Earth) that leads up the south face of Italian Mountain. Incredibly steep. But its achievable to summit. The only difficulty is the boulder slide section, which is like Carl's Dinner from Erzberg.
@@brendtoconnell6119 I wish I had seen that trail to Italian Mountain. It probably would have been snowed in but I love trails like that to a summit. Saw some of the Double Track that went through some Carl's Dinner Rocks that looked good.
@@KnoxOffRoad Right on. In the coming months I'd like to do a video that illustrates all the Taylor Park trails for everyone. I had the fortune of living in Colorado Springs for 10 years and riding a few times a week. But I only documented about 1% on my Gopro. Don't hesitate to ask if you have questions for any type of trails you'd like to do.
@@brendtoconnell6119 Nice! Will be on the lookout for it. Glad you got to ride here so much. Such a cool place. One thing you could document is the areas to camp or park in for which trails and where you can leave fuel jugs on the way in to extend a ride on a trail like Timberline.
Looks like my 2018 KTM300XC! Curious what carb and jetting you like at that altitude? I ride CO once a year and have been working at the jetting. It's getting better but I could use a suggestion.
It's an 18 300XC as well and love it. They had it all figured out in 18 and should have stopped. Well except the Jetting and Air Forks.... I could never get the factory Needle to work well and did the Graham Jarvis mod which helped but not perfect. I had to get the JD Jetting Needle which is way better. I put the Needle on the 2nd Clip and used the JD Chart for 8,000ft+ which worked perfect this trip to CO. Never felt the Power loss much up to 13,000ft and ran great at 9,000ft. I would get the JD kit and make sure you have the smaller Main and Pilot Jets ready to go. Go with the second clip on the needle at home then it is easy to tune it in with the Main and Pilot by just turning the carb at the Campsite and swapping those. I have a High Compression Head and Gnarly Pipe so my jetting will be a little different but is right at what the JD Charts says.
Tons of free Camping all near the Trailhead for this and the connectors to it. Look up Taylor Park Reservoir and there should be good info. You will want this Map from Lattitude40 Maps- (Crested Butte-Taylor Park Trails Map 6th Ed.) Lots of trails and to avoid waiting all your gas riding gravel roads you will want to plan your camping spot well.
Started riding there in the 80's when it was free. We had a paper map of all of the trails that had names instead of numbers back then. Haven't been in quite a few years but the rocks must have shifted because the Bear Cave looks smaller. We also rode off the backside where it was not on the map or allowed on Wounded Knee, Footpeg Gouge, Horsepower hill, The Ledge trail, Boot hill, and a few more. Put a lot of miles on 3 different Honda XR600's on that mountain. My best memory of Brown Mountain was early one Saturday morning our group went through the parking lot and when I went around the right curve before getting on the trail I hit a patch of ice then did a doughnut and a half and crashed in front quite a few members of the Unifour Trail Bike Club including the best XR mechanic I have ever met from Dudley Shoals. Next time I was at his shop I told him I sure did look dumb crashing in front of them and he said nope they were impressed how fast I got up and cleared it out fired up and got the Hell out of there..🤣
Good memories for sure. Ice and bikes always ends with you on the ground. Now just about every singletrack there is illegal and only the handful of Four Wheeler trails. Such a waist of the space
@@KnoxOffRoad I have not, It does kinda make sense to go straight up the shelf rock, but Im sure its slick as all get out. You are correct, the GO-PROS and such do not do declines, inclines justice. However, I can see by measuring with the eye, IT is crazy tall. Im an ole dude with a 12" inseam LOL. That little trick move you made at the top was pretty bad ass. Maybe I'll see ya at Brushy or Brown some day. Be safe!!!!
#3 is my favorite trail at Brown. I wish they all could be like that one. There's some outlaw stuff off of #3 also, that's the best stuff at Brown but hard to find.
It is a good one. One time the place was empty and I hit the Outlaw stuff and up a big rock face then connected to #3 and rode it out backwards and it had some good flow that way as well
@@KnoxOffRoad No, I hail from the northern lands of the dirty Jerz... I look forward to the day when I have my own slowrolla to ride into oblivion and then recycle into jumps practice. Stay legendary!
@@rachel.ingrid I had to ask as all our land around us and ours was all Collins Family Land. I thought that might be how you found this sweet video. I have been through some nice spot in Jersey. Not sure they were in the North or not but have seen some spots there that I could see where the Dirty Jerz comes from. Good luck in finding a goo Slowrolla. People are on to them and understanding their value with all the junk cars out there now
@@KnoxOffRoad Moving into 7 acres of land, so not yet quite at your level yet. However, I definitely will be working my way up. Your slowrolla skills are an inspiration!
They are pretty cool. The trials style lack of seat lets a small kid ride a big bike with good size tire which is nice. It is an OSET 20.0 R and can be found used for around $1600
Thanks! I think you have it more figured out than I do. I have just noticed the Shorts thing and that seems to be where the Algorithm takes things. I just like to post ride videos on here to make them easy to share and people can see what some trails look like
It is really not that bad of a trail. It's not too steep and has great traction. The lesson to work on this one is keeping momentum so you can keep popping up the roots and rocks. You can even keep your feet down and paddle through it. Perfect for the 3002T
Yeah I think the next time I go to HP I'm gonna have to do 36 . I live about 40 min away and it's the only place I go to ride. I bought my 300 xc from KTM world about 4 months ago and ride 2 or 3 times a month. Maybe I'll run into you there sometime
@@georgedragojlovic4832 Nice. I use to live outside Atlanta and go quite a bit, but now live 3.5 Hours away so don't get to go much. End up going to Brushy Mountain in NC which is a great place
Just swapped to an rk tek HC head...with the gnarly it was insane when the power valve came on...trying the fatty now with the head...i think this maybe a good all around setup!
I am liking the Gnarly so far. I just don't wind out my bike much so might as well have as much on the bottom as possible. I have found many spots I use to have to drop to 1st in I can lug up in 2nd now with no clutch
@@KnoxOffRoad it definitely does make a big difference down low! Being in florida here is mostly sand tracks so I figured id try the fatty too! Going to brushy mountain in September so gnarly is probably coming with me haha have you tried the rk or slavens heads?
@@1juicedfox Nice. Brushy Mountain is such a great place. I have had the S3 Head with Low Altitude insert in for about 200Hours on the 300. It really made a difference on the Low End and overall helps my always too rich jetting on the bottom end
@@KnoxOffRoad damn sounds like we have some good setups! I bought the s3 and put it on with the gnarly and it felt good! But then i did the rk tek head...WOW insane man the difference between the 2 are huge! Im going to test this fatty pipe out see what i think ! Ill get some footage from brushy ! Hell, were going late September maybe you could meet up!
@@1juicedfox I have heard the RK is a bigger difference. I wonder if it has more compression like running the High Altitude insert in the S3? I will be going the Brushy for the Race on Oct. 1st so probably won't be able to make it but that would be cool
It was! Had to clean it up a little when we sold it, but the remnants are still there. The new backyard: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pYkKggUIYHU.html
