Kolkata have 3 kind of parts 1- Devoloped ares (south kolkata and newtown area) very clean green and posh. 2- old residential kolkata. Full of history. museum . Foods old buildings, nostalgia. 3- market areas. Looks very old and dirty. Mainly this areas are for raw materials Bussniess. I see many foreigner goes to those areas for travel. But those ares are not for traveling. Those are raw materials bussniess area. If you really wants to what is kolkata what's it's culture is then roaming around old residential kolkata or south kolkata to Newtown.
Kolkata is the former Capital of India 🇮🇳. Anyone first coming to India should come to Kolkata, it's safe for foreigners and you get all sorts of different foods here! Best time for coming here From September- February, bcz you get less heat 😅. Come to Kolkata, relax few days, then plan trips to different cities.From Kolkata you get transportation for every part of India! In our state Bengal you get Himalayan mountains in Darjeeling and Beaches in Digha-Mandarmani! If you like art visit Vishnupur . If you like small hills visit Ayodhya Hills. Bengalis have problem with Hindi speakers, but being a prabasi Bengali what amuses me is that these folks would never question Yusuf Pathan, Sarutghan Sinha, kirti azad, all these idiots getting election tickets, Bengalis would travel to other states for work, they will abuse the local people, and once they are back in Bengal, they will spew venom and badmouth others... Change your attitude... Get out of your fake pride and fake cultural heritage...
😢Being a prabasi Bengali let me confirm that Bengalis generally have lot resentment and hatred towards non Bengalis, and have some kind of strange superiority complex. Strangely millions of Bengalis today working in other states and making their lives, but people from Bengal and Kolkata would not stop hating those states and their culture.. After living many years in other states, let me confirm that we actually have lots of arrogance, resentment towards others, we consider everyone outsiders, but we go out everywhere for work, narrow minded. This hate towards others, and anti hindu communists mentality has taken Kolkata and the state to dogs... Congratulations to you people and pls stop coming to other states, you can continue with your false pride... Up will go past you in next 10 years, Kerala is already ahead in literacy, tamilnadu produces most of the scientists, mathematicians, top chess players, Kerala in terms tourism, Karnataka in terms of IT, even Asam is much more conducive for business, no one wants to come to Bengal... Ask yourself why?
Kolkata is a symbol of colonized past, which was later preserved by communists, and Bengalis are proud about it, being a prabasi Bengali, I feel sad about it, no one is perfect, but Bengal is a special case, sad state of affairs....

Extremely chaotic city. Most footpaths are occupied by vendors. People throw garbage anywhere and everywhere. Traffic sense is close to zero. Very infamous for food adulteration in street foods, probably this is the worst city in terms of food adulteration in whole India also horrible hygiene sense. And horrible, horrible weather. Although there are few good roadside small restaurants but if you do not know them beforehand then you can land up in big problem. Sweet shops are relatively safer, some are very very good and famous.
You went to chandni chowk and sadar bazar... those are whole sale markets. Naturally they are over crowded. The more slick modern delhi is central south, west delhi
Viewers are only Indian. Everywhere Indians. This is the reason unemployment rate is increasing. We Indians expert in increasing population which is not good for Earth.
This is common for every developing country just search a white foreigner exploring rich or modern area of a developing country 90% of viewers will be from that country
I'm so glad that you loved it here. You could actually feel the vibe here, yes our Kolkata is different. It's a metro city yet a bit slow, greener and thriving through it's old buildings;yellow taxis; trams and amazing foods. Try some of the delicacies here too. ❤️

Random fact: The massive building at 6:00 is Dayabumi Complex and used to be the main office of PETRONAS before they build the PETRONAS Twin Towers. Nowadays, their main office is at Twin Towers but some of their subsidiaries are still operating from Dayabumi Complex such as PETRONAS Tankers and many others. The building is maintained and supervised by KLCC Properties, another PETRONAS subsidiaries focusing on project development and maintenance.

Though I have lived in various parts of India I feel most at home in Kolkata. It embraces all the great things about other cultures without losing its own identity. Its a progressive city with very little gender bias and agressive behaviour. Everyone slots in here ..rich poor men women different communities different religions. I am from Delhi.. But I have been living in Kolkata since 2014 and I must say it's the best Indian city after Mumbai... It's safe and it has a great culture and urbanization too.... Magnificent educational system, mind blowing architecture, kind people.... As an outsider I have never felt racism in Kolkata... Bengalis don't hate others... Everyone lives here in peace jai hind 🇮🇳❤
you see less traffic, because there is less business in kolkata. less industries. less number of corporate big companies in kolkata. here people earn 100-200 usd a month. salaries are very low. so people cannot afford motorcyle. price of real estate is low. people cannot afford big houses compared to other metros. transportation is good enough. in winter the pollution is high and it comes daily in the top 10 most polluted cities in the world. its a quite boring place. there is not much night life. its an old city with old architecture. other indian cities are progressing, but kolkata still in the 1980s.
