I'm sorry I didn't get to your reaction sooner - but you released it at about the same time as ep. 3 was airing - and on Mondays, I usually go straight from the office to the cinema for my weekly visit. The caption on the Kite read "Khun Pin smile a little", if Google translate is correct. The caption after Anin's farewell simply said "many months have passed". I found the episode to be enjoyable but at times ill-paced. This is the episode where Anin essentially goes aboard for half a decade (she is only on a study break atm, so she will return to England at some point), yet the show spends only 20 minutes on her time abroad. Most of the time that Pin pines after Anin, she's still in Thailand! Pin is clearly in love with Anin; the other way around, we only got glimpses of Anin missing Pin, because the episode spend so much time on Pin and so little on Anin. Prik steals the show whenever she on screen. 🙂It's high time that P'Nam gets her own show where she can be the lead. Freen also does really well, she's wears all of Pin's emotions on hear face. As for Becky an Anin, I reserve my judgement for the next episode where she has much more screentime. As for the setting, I'm assuming they are currently in the mid-to-late 1960s, judging from the cars shown. I'm no car expert, but the one Anin and her brother were returning in at the end of the episode looked similar to the Mercedes my father was driving around the time I was born (in 1971). Anyway, now the show can really start. I think you'll like ep 3. 🙂
Khun Kuea is so persuasive of getting Khun Pin's attention, while the lady only years for Anin.. The look she gave upon Kawin when he bid his farewell 😂 She's not into guys, she holds on to Anin's promise that they will be living together in The Pine Palace. 😌
Actually Lady Pin is the actual niece of Princess Pattmika, Lady Pin is the only daughter of her brother, Prince Piya but he and his wife (Lady Erb) died in an accident leaving Lady Pin alone, thus Princess Pattmika decided to adopt and take care of Lady Pin. Princess Pattmika and Lady Pin comes from the old King Kasidit royalty lineage. And the Old King Kasidit is a distant cousin of the Old King Sawetawarit. Old King Kasidit is the great grandfather of Lady Pin. While Old King Sawetawarit is the grandfather of Princess Anin. Lady Klai (wife of Old King Sawetawarit) adopted Princess Pattmika thus making her like a younger sister of Princess Anin's father, but in reality she's like a distant cousin of Princess Anin, thus making Lady Pin a distant niece of Princess Anin. I know it's messy but yeah that's how it is. But in the end Princess Anin and Lady Pin are distant relatives, more of not really blood related at all. But they still both come from Royal lineage just different hierarchy. This was set around 1950s-1960s. It is important to note, how Lady Pin describe Princess Patt as someone who is strict, meticulous and stick to tradition kind of person. The reason why Lady Pin always gets punishment even though it's really not her fault because she is still lower in rank than Princess Anin, so Princess Patt really can't punish the Princess plus the fact that she's the favorite child of the His Royal Highness Prince Sawetawarit. For now Lady Pin doesn't really have an idea of what she truly feels for Princess Anin, for her she's her only friend in the world and for someone who has lost her parents at such a young age, Anin was like her light during those times when she suddenly needs to stay with Princess Pattmika, when she feels so alone and lonely. So her cherishing everything that was given by Princess Anin just shows how much she cherish Anin. She's like a well trained child that was kept locked in a the palace, that doesn't want to disappoint her only remaining family and the one who had adopted her and supported her. And Anin is the one who brings out the liveliness on Lady Pin, who shows her how to smile and be happy. This is pretty long already, but for me EP1 was able to set the characters well, and we will get to know more characters on the coming episodes. This is a very long journey, 16 episodes since it was adapted from 2 Books of the novel itself. I did read the novel and how they presented it on this series was well played, specially the production value you can definitely see the budget they have. Also the reason why they particularly focus on thai food, producst and culture was due to the collaboration that IDF had with Thai Ministy of Commerce, they had chosen FreenBecky and the Loyal Pin as a show that will give 'soft power' to Thailand. To add on the first comment, the first EP shows their friendship, how Anin makes Pin's life beautiful but sometimes chaotic because of her mischievous deeds. 😅 I adore Becky being so playful as she portrays the 15 year old Anin and the contrast with Freen as Pin who was raised in a strict way and sticks into tradition. The book readers really see the characters comes to life and they were delighted. The Loyal Pin airs on Workpoint YT channel, 10:15 BKK time (one hour delay on PH) every Sunday And on Idol Factory YT channel UNCUT version at 12:00 AM Monday.
@@critiqueandtea I've read the novel only on that scene where Anin requested to Than Ar (Aunt Pad) to be with Khun Pin on Lotus palace, because the next chapter is for those who buys the EBook on MEB. But there are scenes that changed, like, Anin's first kiss..
"The Loyal Pin" will have 16 episodes. I like the first episode more than EP1 of "Gap", it was slow at times, but I had to cover a lot of background stuff. * The young princess is played by "Nina" Padovan, like Becky a Thai/British actress that has already played a few roles on Thai TV and in movies. * The formal title of Pin is Mom Rajawongse (M.R.) This is a higher status that Sam had (M.L.) but is not considered part of the royal family. * Anin is a princess ("Her serene highness"") which as far as I know, means that she is the great-granddaughter of the King, as her father is also called "His serene highness". * The episode established Pin as the earnest one (she had a stricter education c/o Princess Patthanika), always trying (and failing) to get Anin to act more her station. Anin on the other hand has a free-spirited, slightly mischievous - you know that she is the favorite child, because otherwise, her parents wouldn't let everything she does slide. However, where Pin or her relationship with the Lady is threatened she can get quite decisive and inventive. * For much of the episode, I was sure that Pin already had an (innocent) crush on Anin, because no one puts up with that Anin's behavior unless you really like her. The other way around, was was not so sure, but in the latter half there are a few moments when Anin genuinely cared for Pin, while earlier on it could have been that she consideren Pin her favorite plaything or something like that. * The "snake moment" apparently was an addition and does not come from the book (as far as I've heard). As far as I know, it is actually discouraged to try the suck the poison out; this help is a myth that is kept alive by TV and movies. The Thai text on screen during the scene said the same: "don't try this at home". 🙂 * I assume the scene was added to show Pin's devotion of Anin; from what I've heard about the novel, it is full of "inner monologue" by Pin, so that the reader know exactly what she's is thinking - but adding lots of off-commenary by Freen/Pin wouldn't make for compelling television. 😉 * The opening titles for the show actually omit all the nicknames for the actors and actresses, So no Becky, Freen, Looknam or Heng to be found. I will definitely watch the further episodes; considering that Anin (and I assume Pin) are still minors at this point, I didn't expect anything overtly romantic to happen in this episode - but the first episode made it clear that Pin and Anin care deeply for each other, whether it's already love, I couldn't say. But I assume that will come into play once Anin moves and eventually returns from England. 🙂 Three final remarks: * The production values are off the charts; this show looks beautiful - and very expensive. And we can watch in for free on YT. 😱 * I assume, by the style of clothing and the car, that the show is set at this point in the 1960s., which would mean that Lady Pin came to the Lotus Palace in the 1950s, right? * No matter how good Freen and Becky are at playing young characters, and how much effort in put into costumes and makeup, I cannot believe them as 15-year olds. I understand the decision of the show to go that way (you don't want your two stars to be absent from the first one or two episodes), but until Pin said at the end of the episode that Anin is 15 at the time, I would have guessed 17 or 18 at the very least. But that's a minor gripe. Anyway, this is already far too long; I'll shut up now. Until the next one!

She fell in love with K.neung at first sight. After observing her for a while, she learned that K.neung was a person who was indifferent to everyone. Therefore, her initial strategy was to make K.nueng angry with her childish behavior so that K.Neung would pay attention to her. This drama was produced by a CEO who has a degree in psychology, so you have to pay attention to the details, especially the actors' eyes, movements and body language, which all have other meanings. For example, when Neung is in front of someone, she is smiling, but when she turns around, she turns into a sad face.☺ After watching SS1 and SS2, SS1 is my favorite. Even though I watched it more than 100 times, I still feel that I missed their little expressions, eyes, body language and tone at certain moments. I feel a sense of accomplishment when I discover new things. Now I've started watching this show again. I hope you can give this drama a chance and never miss out on good actors and a good show.
2 things. 1 Orm the actress is known to fall asleep easily. So any time you see Earn asleep its almost always real. 2 the Amnesia storyline was Stupid Wife.
That's a funny trivia 😂 thanks for sharing! Amnesia storyline is indeed Stupid Wife but that's kinda how the trailer felt. So glad it's completely different!
@@critiqueandtea Have you seen the Xeque Mate series from the same channel as Stupid Wife. It makes SW seem tame in comparison, but I think SW story was better. Valu are what started my journey into GL series. I thought they were just a RU-vid couple cause I kept getting recommended their clips. Between them and GAP I was hooked.

Their fan club call them Warlio. They have YT channels as well. I know a couple more obscure shows and Movies I could recommend later on. Also if you want more Real GL YT couple's I know some channels to recommend.

My comment in made seven hours ago seems to have been deleted?!?! Anyway, I liked the episode a lot, but the series as a whole considerably less so. It's still a good show, but from the excellent first episode I expected (I'm judging this after episode 6 of 8) a bit more. I'll talk about that in more detail show you get to those episodes, in this first one - which mainly is a relationship flashback - there is mot much to criticize. Earn goes a little overboard with the break-up, but she is supposed to be younger, was both blackmailed and tricked by Lada's mother into breaking up, as had shown beforehand to be the more impulsive of the girls - I won't absolve her of her part in the break-up, but I can understand how she got there.

@Kasi_Mir no idea about that deleted comment. We put a bit of restriction on comments with certain words. But when we checked the On Hold comments for review we didn't see one from you there. So not sure. Maybe RU-vid just glitched a bit. We've only just currently watched Episode 2 and we're still enjoying it so far. Production wise, character wise and story wise too. This one is kinda giving TRMD as we mentioned too with the rich parents trying to enforce their money and power in their kids' love life.
@@critiqueandtea Yeah, I also suspect a glitch. Your comparison with TRMD is valid, though this time it's only one parent, and Russamee (Lada's Mom) has a, ahem, less hands-on approach to getting her will than, for example, Oscar T. 😆 I have seen up to episode 7 (8, the final, comes out tomorrow.) and you're in for quite some ride. there's a sequel, yes or no 2 and 2.5. but in 2.5 kim has a different love team and i think it's another story, I love the first and 2nd original movies
