I have a 2023 Bronco Badlands on order and have some mods planned for it. Yes, I know another Bronco build and story but I think you will like this one. As a machinist, I have some custom parts builds/mods in mind. Stay tuned! I also have another channel you may also like BladesIIB.
This looks perfect but I have one problem..... my back seats of my 2 door don't fold that flat. Did you do something to yours to make them go down more ?
@nikkibrewer3945 - I did not make any modification. When you lift up the bottom seat portion and stand it up it is on a loop sort of hinge. It will stand straight up and the back will fold down and wedge at an angle. But if when you stand it up you sort of pop it forward/over it comes ahead a little more and is more vertical. Then when you fold down the back it should be as flat as mine. Make sure your front seats are pulled ahead to give the extra room you need. Should be a standard feature to go this flat. Thanks for the comment. Hope this helps you.
@anthonygallo3576 - Ha. Things have a way of disappearing even in Texas. I have them locktited in now. I have seen a few safes, good add for sure when you pull up somewhere you can’t take it inside with you. Appreciate the comment.
After trying pool noodles on mine I don't recommend using them, they allow the straps easily to slide through them and you can't keep the top balanced since most of the weight is on the back. Gonna go with some wider straps like you have instead.
@adoolferguson5429 - I did not make a diagram. The ones in the instructions were pretty good. I talk through the few Bronco specific dimensions I used in the first 3 minutes and summarize them again starting at 14:15. Hope that gives you what you need. Thanks for the comment.
@@adoolferguson5429 Gotcha. As long as the winch holds when not in use I don’t see why not. Maybe add a loop to lock it up in place as a back up. The pull force to lift it is not very much. Sounds like a cool option. Good luck.
@larrycole1911 - With the 2 door and keeping my back seats down and back area flat most of the time for the dog, losing the molle was not a big deal for me. As for comfort in the summer they are awesome. In the Texas heat that vinyl would be no fun in the summer. These are great. Appreciate the comment.
@garychampagne4652 - Awesome, congrats on the 2 Door. Appreciate the comment, all the best getting the mods you want on your ride. These lights are awesome and really worked with the matte black I have on the other parts. Wheels and suspension coming up next when all the parts come in.
@UncleFjester - Buy the mods that work for you. These were worth it to me but the stock LEDs worked fine. I just wanted flush and black tint. Thanks for the comment.
@Tristam21 - the hard rubber washers I put in really fixed it up. Feels solid and the alignment is really close on both sides. Hope you get yours right. Thanks for the comment.
@shelbyR19 - You still get the rock rail guards if selected. The hoop just bolts on to the rock rail. Remove two bolts and the hoops come off and you get the extra clearance and just the rock rails. Thanks for the question.
Nice job. Any chance of getting a measurement from the rear seat headrest to the indent on the rear door wear you cut the indent on the mat. I'm going to use carpet instead. Thanks!
@Bizness10 - I measured on the heavy rubber mat, from the bottom of the notch I cut for the headrest to the cut out for the back door it was 43 1/8”. The total length of the rubber mat is 47 3/4”. Hope that gives you what you were looking for.
@texasgrillchef8581 - Fair question. For me if Forscan had the equivalent option of just pushing the button I would have done that. But as I understand it Forscan is just tricking the system. In the case of the Bronco I believe it tells it the wheels are turned to far so don’t activate the auto stop. Seems an odd way to do it and I liked this option better. Can still have it if I want.
@@hadtocheathimtobeathim6549 - He asked me why. Given the choice I liked this option better. On the older Fords like my 2016 truck the forscan option tricks it by saying the batter is low on charge and that messes up the smart charging feature. I was buying one for the truck and 20% off if I bought 2. Seemed like a good solution. 😁
@@hadtocheathimtobeathim6549 I don’t recall all the details just a better way to maintain your battery charge and not overcharge it. When looking into over riding the start stop with forscan I found some videos on it and it did not seem ideal. Some videos even claim disabling it can cause a battery fire? Not sure about that but seemed worth avoiding. Do a quick search and should not be hard to find more info on it. I am not an expert on that by any means.
Get the one you can tow behind an RV oh wait a minute that’s none of them. Doing so you highly risk the possibility of destroying the transmission like I did $6300 and Ford was happy to let me eat it even while under warranty.
@@TopSecretVid That is for sure. I am glad I did not wait and try to order the 24. This new steering rack seems to still not be clear last time I checked and that was the only item I would have wanted. So for me still super happy with the one we got. And the wait is over! Mods have been fun and great to drive.
I got a Big Bend 2023 2 DR 2.7 V6. I wanted a base model but wasn't available from my Dealer. I'm glad I have my 2023 V6 now since that isn't an option on the Big Bend. I DO wish my seats were vinyl since that is the new default but oh well.
@MarkFuriniArt - Congrats on the new Bronco! Definitely like the V6 option on ours. We added seat covers over the vinyl, lots of options out there to get the look you want for yours. Appreciate the comment!
Can you explain the reason for the pedal commander a little bit? I’ve never heard of it before and I’m interested in it because the delay in the pedal on these Broncos is ridiculous.
@ TheChuck1960 - The main reason is pretty much just what you said, eliminate or control that delay. Since cars no longer have a throttle cable, the manufacturer can map any control they want between the pedal and the actual throttle response. This can be great for things like sand mode on the Bronco where they change it to reduce tire spin in sand. For everyday driving it usually means a sluggish throttle response. The pedal commander lets you dial in a throttle response that you want. No change to the power of your vehicle. It just unlocks how you access and tap into that power through your gas pedal. Hope that helps. It is a pretty nice mod for daily driving. Thanks for the question.
I don't understand the amber/white module swap. Functionally what is different when operating the vehicle, compared to not including the amber/white module? (Note: my Bronco currently has the stock base halogen taillights.) Maybe without the added module, the turn signal would simply be pulsing of the red taillight section?
@bigworldparty1619 - you pretty much nailed it. If you buy the regular Oracle flush lights with just the white module then your turn signals pulse the red brake light instead of Amber like the factory lights. Upgrading to their Amber/White module gives you the brighter white reverse lights and makes your turn signal a factory like Amber. So just makes the flush lights more like the factory ones. Thanks for the question.
@@BadToTheStone - thanks for the info. Those taillights look sharp, and I like the flush approach keeping the assembly more out of the way from damage. Will look into swapping to them down the road.
@Mwild00 - Glad the video was helpful. As for legal in my state - seems room for interpretation. You can’t do anything to reduce the functionality of your tail lights. Since these are made this way I interpret as legal. I interpret not legal as adding tint, adding a tinted cover etc. others may interpret different?
@eddiemunster74galindo46 - Same can be said for most mods. Just personal preference and going for the unique look. I prefer the flush mount. If you like the stock keep em. They do work just fine. Thanks for the comment.
I bought the tinted flush mount lights, because I’m going for a blackout look and didn’t want to cover my OEM taillights with tinted covers, which make it a safety issue to me…
Just installed these yesterday. Great video. Glad I watched. My driver side light wasn't solid either. Going to go back and add washers like you did. Great tip.
@@BadToTheStone Hi and thanks for the reply. I’ve never used car seat covers before. After viewing the options of different designs and protecting new seats it peaked my interest. When performing research I noted some manufacturers make a note of mentioning not to use with heated seats. BTW, you mention Western Seat Covers is based in and ships from Canada. This was also of interest as I wouldn’t have to pay any duty. However their site states they’re Texas based. Did they relocate? Anyway thanks for your time. Looking forward to the next video.
@@Dean_O. - Maybe different materials can be an issue with reheated seats? Westerner is good about answering questions so you may want to ask them directly. In the US they sell through seatcovers.com and I don’t know where they are out of. In Canada they sell through local auto parts stores or direct I think? They are located in Alberta and have not moved as far as I know. Be sure you are looking up Weterner and not Western.
@BarbWaltersMusic - Yes, I will add it to the description as well. Thanks for the question. These came from Amazon - www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BS41KP5T/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
@ronontheroam1359 - I found one website that says no - they fit every new Bronco except the Raptor. But I could not find anything on the Oracle site. I would recommend you send Oracle an email to check. They were pretty quick replying to my questions.
Ford doesn't support it yet, but have been promising to support it with the Ford Performance Programmer in the future. It's easy enough to do it yourself.
@mpeugeot - We did get the Sasquatch on the Badlands and after doing the Bronco Off Roadeo this last weekend I and glad we did the sas. The extra few inches was noticeable on the trail. Drove a non sas at the off Roadeo and definitely hit t more often than the others with sas. Still fully capable but we like the little extra lift. Appreciate the comment.
@@BadToTheStone yes, but it has less articulation than the non-sasquatch Badlands, plus most people are going to replace the wheels and tires, when you factor in the fact that you are essentially paying $5000 for wheels, tires, and a 1/2" lift - it lacks value UNLESS you love the factory wheels and tires. Also, no, I am not forgetting the 4.7 gears, but that's only a 5% difference in gearing, it's less than 100 rpm pretty much under any circumstances. It's not a criticism of your purchase, because Ford makes it hard to understand what the real difference is... Nothing wrong with the Badlands and Sasquatch package, I'm sure that you are loving it.
@@mpeugeot Gotcha! Guess I did miss the fine print on that one. I did not realize the non sas Badlands was so similar with the suspension already upgraded on the BL that makes sense. Oh well, still very happy with the build and yes loving it. Thanks for the comment to help others. That is the goal here is provide value.
I wouldn't get a 2024 over a 2023, no chance in hell. I don't believe that the steering rack will be upgraded for the sasquatch package for starters. 2 door OBX 2.7 advanced 4x4 with the High package was the best option for 90% of people and more than 90% of off-roading. I removed the back seats in my 2 door. The lack of cloth interior in 2024 really sucks.
@mpeugot - Thanks for the comment. I agree and definitely went with my 23. Will be curious if they deliver in the new steering rack. I did not remove the rear seats but did a small platform and heavy mat level job that I will post soon. Made a nice area for the dog and gear in the back. Still easy to use the seats when needed.
I hate the auto start/stop. I always think something went wrong with the vehicle. I disabled my wife's F150 through the tuner. I definitely don't miss it
@Highvolt71 - Could not agree more. Was happy to find a solution I like to override this and make it like it is not even there unless I decide one day I want it again. Glad you found a solution for your F-150 that worked for you. Thanks for the comment.
@TheCobraKommander - For me it was worth it. The number of times I forget to turn it off until the first stop etc. I think it will save my starter and battery over time. And it took 25 minutes. Thanks for the comment.
Enjoy your 23'. People are crazy and these aren't any value for $, but neither is a new Jeep Rubicon! How many of you have gotten off-road enough to ACTUALLY use your winches? 10% is my high end guess! Steering rack's are like arguing over wheel center cap's! You'll be better off spending that $ on tires and real locker control.
@TtheK - we are enjoying it for sure. Agree about the winches and we don’t have one of those in our build plans. We have already had some off road fun at Barnwell Mountain Rec Area and more off road trips planned. Had a chance to try out the front and rear lockers and the stabilizer disconnect. Super capable so far. No plans to change out tires and wheels yet but who knows. As for the steering rack - no issues so far so not anything I will look into anytime soon. Thanks for the comment.
Ya'll have fun and remember. This will be the majority of comment's "you can do 120% of a bronco with XYZ.....bc I said so!" Looks like a more reliable FJ40 to me. Damn they really messed up making that thing locked awd. Have fun and remember, "everything you take off the oem body is money OFF the resale!". So keep that oem stuff, especially the wheel's!
@TtheK - We are hanging on to the old parts for sure. Some trims have different 4x4 capabilities? Ours is definitely not locked AWD? Full ability to do 2H only. We are having fun with it so far. Thanks for the comment.
Thanks for the video, I haven’t installed my tinted ones on the Wildtrak yet, glad I didn’t. I’m going to ordered the amber/white modules tonight. Keep up the great work and videos.
@seanwatkins6365 - Awesome! Glad this was helpful and you don’t have to undo any Forscan to get these in. Appreciate the comment. More content coming. 😁
I’m going with a 24 heritage edition, I think it’s the best value, Sasquatch standard, mid package standard, 360 standard, and with 24’ you get the 12” infotainment standard
@tonymmalone - That sounds like a great build congrats. The Heritage can be hard to get from what I hear, I hope you can get that built and delivered in a reasonable time. Good luck.
@cathyderbonne - These are custom made for each vehicle. It looks like they have the Ranger listed on their site so you should be able to order for your son’s ranger. Just go to seatcovers.com and enter vehicle info.
Keep the 2023! I ordered the four door carbonized gray Badlands (22) with the Sasquatch and towing package, 2.7 leather and hard top, 12” display with 360 camera. It’s absolutely my favorite vehicle of all the vehicles I have ever owned. It’s a lot of fun! It took a while for my order because I ordered it when the Broncos began production…but it was worth the wait. On NOV 15th it will be a year old. I have 8k miles on it. You will love yours.
@cathyderbonne - Could not agree more. Kept the 23 and love it. At our first off-road event in Barnwell Mountain Recreation Area and she is so much fun. Thanks for the comment.
I heard the ford will no longer be selling the base model next yr I done a pre build on one 2 months ago 2 door cactus green minor mods it. Came to about $41k nice video maybe I can find one on a lot for under 37k and later I can always add mods
@antwanowens4013 - Yes they did make a few changes. Some trims limited on motor options, I think one trim 4 door only (including the Raptor which was always 4dr only). Hope you can still build what you are looking for. Glad this video was helpful. 3 weeks in on ours now and absolutely loving it. We are having a lot of fun customizing it as well. Heading for our first off roading to Barnwell Mountain so looking forward to getting a little mud on the tires. Thanks for the comment.
I’m with you. The two door is perfect for my wife and I. Just picked up our 23 Badlands, with 2.7 engine, towing and high package. It’s a keeper. Nice video. Thanks.
@gilbertferguson1685 - Congrats! Just picked ours up Wednesday and loving it so far. Appreciate the comment. Stay tuned for the mods we have planned for ours. Any plans for modifying yours yet?
@@BadToTheStone not a lot right now. Just added door sill protectors and have ordered some steps from IAG. Didn’t get the Sasquatch pkg, but might put a lift kit with 35s on it down the road.
@user-ky3nt4bm5x - If you have the time to wait to get what you want that is probably not a bad call. I picked mine up last night and did not get the price protection I was hoping for and my private offer was not valid on this order so paid the full MSRP and did not get the upgraded steering rack if I had waited on a 2024. Could be several months again for delivery and who knows could be another price change. I decided to just go for it and I am happy to be driving a new Bronco. I hope they get your 24 built quickly for you. Thanks for the comment.
@@user-ky3nt4bm5x Thank! Pretty stoked to finally have her and ready to get all these mods I have waiting installed. Stay tuned and you will meet Pebbles soon!
