What I don’t understand is why the Fallout games doesn’t take place sooner? Like Fallout 3 takes place in 2277. Fallout New Vegas takes place in 2281. Fallout 4 takes place in 2287.
Originally Fallout 1 was the closest to the Great War of 2077. That game was set in the year 2161. Then Fallout 76 came out in 2018 and that game is set 25 years after the Great War. So the earliest to the Great War is the year 2102.
so are the gen 3 synths even technically robots? like they pretty much have soft tissue, nerves, and biological matter that makes them a living thing. They could even likely reproduce if given the ability during creation, why are they treated like an assaultron. I get the gen 2 and gen 1s they are literally robots but what the hell is with gen 3.
After doing extensive research. They are completely biological, like flesh grown drones. The Institute treats them beneath Human because ultimately they're artificially created, although their long term plans suggest they would eventually be treated better.
@@Cyberbro665 so they are effectively creating true biological organisms rather than life like robots... They choose to make people with this technology instead of just terraforming the surface with pre war life forms and making the world inhabitable for the survivors. Hell they could even work on the super mutant problems.
@@grendel8342 So a couple problems with that, the Institute is led by a director (Think like CEO or President) and that Director chooses to path the Institute will follow. Unfortunately there hasn't been a Director yet to follow that path of fixing the environment for the rest of the populace, they also were the ones who created the Commonwealth Supermutants so needless to say they don't care much about the population outside of the Institute. You have to see it from the perspective of the Institute only the worst of humanity remains outside (Murderers, Thieves, Power Hungry Bastards). They instead think they can create a new slate of better humans. This can in theory change with the Sole Survivor as Director tho.
@@Cyberbro665 fair but tbh that doesn't sound to much unlike the rest of humanity. I'd just focus on establishing better living conditions for the populace rather than going through the whole synth situation. Maybe preserve and domesticate some mutant flora and fauna from the surface. You could easily reindustrialize while putting the institute members in power over the common wealth without all this extra crap. Still run the show but help rebuild on top of that.
@@grendel8342 Honestly from an ethical and moral standpoint yours is the best plan of action but from the Institute perspective their plan is a cheaper alternative. Synths will be immune to radiation with no need to eat or drink apparently so mass producing them would be quicker and easier than trying to fix the environment. They'd have a couple thousand in the time frame it'd take them to rebuild the Commonwealth for the natives lol
I never knew Oct. 23 is an important date in Fallout 4 but I realized I started playing Fallout 4 last month on Oct. 23! I thought the game tracks the current date on your PC. What a weird coincidence.

I loved F3’s DLC as a youngin’ when it came out on Xbox 360. I never really got super into NV for some reason but I’m thinking of getting again. Would you folks say all the dlc is worth it? I’m sure there’s a version that comes with everything nowadays! 😄
sir I sure as hell hope I can build a settlement around Green top just like you did because I find it to be one of the most difficult areas to build around because of how small it is but you of course found a way as I shall to.
I used to not like dead money. Then I really actually played it with an interest in the story and thinking about how it connects to main game (a lot), it's really good. tied with lr in 1st for me
