It depends on a lot of factors, such as ambient light, moon, whether or not you're in a forest. I'd recommend watching different footages in different conditions to make sure you get a good understanding.
While others complain and do nothing this company is providing a solution and I for one am here for it. Personally im saving up for a pvs 14 so I'd be interested to see their product for it.
Sionixs👏🏻is👏🏻not👏🏻combat👏🏻NVG. Stop trying to making them that. Save the coin for the price two cameras and the mount you could have bought a pvs14 gen2+ tube for 2k and had a way better unit.
Just because you mount it on a helmet doesn’t mean it is for combat. Some people may just want it for night hiking, scanning their property, or anything that doesn’t involve having to bring the optic up to your eye every time…
@@LionsGearSolutions Its mine from back in the 80s bayonet style fitting So nope wont work I ordered a Dove Tail adapter hope they didnt change the dimensions on the slide rods On the Notoros if they did Im going to fab a fitting to mate the 2
@@CORNDODGER I understand now. The information regarding the fact that the mount is designed for dovetail only was presented both in this video and on the product page... I'm sorry if you missed that. Let us know if we can help with anything.
Not sure what you mean with "too slow for legit use." Officially the lag on the SiOnyx is only 33ms while there is no lag on gen3 NODs. The latter is brighter, but then again, SiOnyx seems to compare their products rather with gen2 NODs. So as usual, it all depends on your type of application.
That's the biggest hurdle in my mind, though at the same time maybe it's something that can be trained through but not enough people have actually gotten to that point.
The Hyperion is the budget option (it is built to size and cannot be adjusted). If you're looking for an adjustable mount, check out the FAST or the MACHOS.
@@Mr_Glenn around 2 hours if I recall correctly. Although, using an external battery as a counterweight on the back of your helmet you can really extend this time to 8+ hours (depending on the capacity of the powerbank, ofc).
is this shooted with the aurora camera? Camera settings for the shooting? I ask because is real not a great quality for the price :-( .. i got better results (in a real airsoft game) with a MUCH chaper night vision device ;-) ... here is the link for the comparison: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EMHjgLiQ4ls.html PS: thanks for the clip, uefull to check the syonix quality for our game :D
gen3 is awesome!! i got one to test for a week and is incredible. Seems daytime (but in green) :D ..... but 2000 dollars (or euros) for a device i'll use 4 times in a year is really too much
I have been looking for videos about this camera actually being used for airsoft, thanks. Sometimes the image becomes quite blurred, do you know why is that? do these cameras benefit from IR lights or IR lasers? Thanks man!
Hey Pedro! I'm not 100% sure why the image gets blurred but one reason could be the way it is focused. You can focus from 0.3 to infinity. You can benefit from both IR lasers and illuminators. I'd suggest using a 940nm IR flashlight as 850nm can be too powerful. The camera is very sensitive.
@@LionsGearSolutions Thanks for the answer, man! I checked other videos about the camera and noticed that it happens when there is not enough light (or IR light), as soon as some form of illumination kicks in, the image gets much crispier. Looks like I need to start saving for one of those cams and lights, LoL!
Hey Nick! I'm trying to build most of the things based on the community feedback that I receive. Up so far, I've only heard once for the Hyperion that the owner wished the mount would have set the Aurora a little bit back. If I'll receive this kind of feedback, sure, I'll redesign the mount to set the Aurora a little bit back.
@@LionsGearSolutions understood that was one of the cons T-Rex arms talked about with the aurora was even in a helmet mount the image was too tiny and would be better if it was mounted closer to the eye.
Hey, just wanted to say thank you for coming up with this mount. As a milsim/ night shooting guy i'm crazy happy to see this come out. Looks like i'm finally fulfilling my dream of owning serviceable night vision!
Would you mind telling us what, other than Sionyx, and your mount, is required to mount to a NVG capable bump helmet? New to all of this and trying to figure out the other pieces and cost. I have the Sionyx camera and getting ready to order your mount. Need the other components and trying to determine what is required.
Sure. The videos tries to cover this as well. Your helmet must have a shroud (the slot/place where the NVG arm fits). On that shroud you need an NVG arm (do not confuse this with a J-Arm). Depending on your budget you can go with either a standard shroud and a WilcoX L4G24 either a Norotos Short TATM and a Norotos Shroud. Now, you'll only need the 🦁Hyperion and a dovetail. The WilcoX PVS-18 replacement are the best choice. Let me know if that helps you.
Hey @JamaicanTerror, thanks so much! I'm not sure I understand what you're referring to. Did you take a look at the photos on Facebook? Feel free to drop me a message on Facebook and we'll get everything sorted out 😃
@@LionsGearSolutions I was referring to the sight picture. But from the photos and this video it seems it would not be an issue... Thanks for the reply.. I'm just now wondering on the cost?
Brad Clark It will probably fit, chances are quite big but I can’t recommend that as I haven’t tested it yet. Once customers will get the Hyperion mount and test it I will update a “compatibility list”. Now, besides that you only need the WilcoX AN/PVS-18 dovetail shoe and my 🦁 Hyperion mount. Let me know if I can help with any other details.
It would work if you can find a horn style interface shoe that is compatible with the Hyperion mount in place of the WilcoX AN/PVS-18 dovetail shoe. Or if you can replace the Horn interface on your G11 with a dovetail.
@@dumaznbum Thanks so much for your reply. I just figured out I was confusing the G11 mount with some other mount. @Brad Clark, the mount is not compatible with the L4G11 as you need an NVG Arm that has a dovetail interface. As far as I can see the G11 has the Horn interface. I'm not sure there are replacements but as @wilsonchubacca was saying, your best choice would be to replace the interface on the arm.
You can order directly on PayPal. I'll update the description to include the link. I need your preferred colour (tan/black) and your pupillary distance (see link in description as well). Thanks for the interest!
