Hello, my name is Val. :) I'm from Canada and this channel is dedicated to my love for Halloween. Here, it's Halloween all day and everyday!!!
On this channel... - I'm showing some of my Halloween collection! - I'm doing some spooky craftings! - I'm sharing some of my childhood memories related to Halloween! - Sometimes, we visit Halloween stores or cemeteries...! - I'm making horror movie reviews and suggestions.
We just keep the Halloween spirit alive, all year long!!!
Two things: I grew up as a modeler and with the Munster TV show (as with many others). Love your artistic interpretation of the Livingroom kit. Keep up the good work and keep building kits!
I love the stuffed people/monster decorations. Very creative. Halloween in the 1990s was so fun and I truly miss the spirit. 🎃 My grandmother had a big scary looking 2 story house that was at the end of the dead end street and we would decorate it every year for Halloween. Kids were terrified to knock on the door because the house itself had a scary vibe, and the decor made it even creepier! My cousins and I would go trick or treating throughout the neighborhood and come back home with piles of candy and trade. It’s so sad to see that neighborhood become so boring and lifeless now. Oh well. I’m carrying on the tradition in our new neighborhood with my son! Luckily this neighborhood had a lot of holiday spirit and keeps the holidays alive!! Happy Halloween 🎃
Yeah, me too! Stuffed characters were the best. We don't see that anymore. Thanks for sharing that beautiful memory! I can't totally picture this creepy looking house in my head. Haha! I have lots of beautiful memories with my grandmother and her house, too. She was really putting an effort, you know! Happy Halloween! Thanks for watching and have fun with your son!!!
Thanks for watching, Mike! It's kind of surreal. You don't know, but your channel helped me a lot when I was pregnant! Pregnancy can be hard... And watching you every day made me so happy! ❤️
Thank you!! I'm so glad I followed your advice (and kept going). It turned great in the end! Hopefully, this video gives you a little bit of inspiration for your craftings! Haha, yes! I'm super excited about that! Halloween is on its way.
These are so Fun to make! Any 90’s craft kit I come across at the thrift store I grab & make them at home. ❤-But I truly do love the Halloween ones the best….& I add extra stuff which makes it way longer of a project/but I consider them heirloom pieces. “One day my grandkids will inherit my trinkets 😂”
Yes!!! You're right! 90's Halloween patrons are the best! And as you say, putting your own touch is way more fun! Haha, oh my god! That's so cute. 💜 My kids (2 and 3 years old) are already into Halloween. Hopefully, one day, they will be glad to own my craftings.
I am really impressed by how this witch turned out. 💜🤩🌟 While I was watching the video I had such a nostalgia, because when I was young... still a child, my mother used to make this kind of stuff, not for Halloween, but for Christmas... for some reason I could smell how the materials smell (the scent)... I think I had some emotional memory lol. Thanks for that 💜
Oh wow, Mughy! 💕 What beautiful memories! Thank you so much, for sharing that magic moment with me. I'm glad this video made you nostalgic. I understand. Sewing reminds me a lot of my grandmother (and all those moments I spent watching her make costumes). All those smells, the warm color of her light, the sound of the sewing machine. We have a lot in common... it's crazy!
Great work, I'm sure you would do well at some of the vendor craft shows we attend. Your vintage style is very much in demand and would be well received, BTW thought the vintage ad break was brilliant!
Oh thank you! I never thought about that. Maybe one day! I wish I had more free time. Haha! Yes! Thanks. Those magazines are full of funny/stupid ads. I love it!
I love how your witch turned out!!! I never tried making one with a pattern, but I recall making a doll ages ago with nylon stockings (i.e. pantyhose).😁 Thanks for another great video, Val!💖
She's very cute and that was a lot a lot a lot. A lot of work. Oh my God. I guess back in the day Daddy was at work and Mama was at home doing stuff like this. Do they actually still have magazines with ideas like this? I have no idea but I'm curious. Great job! This must have taken weeks to complete.
Thank you! Yes! It was long. Since I can only work on this channel at night (when the kids are asleep), I don't have a lot of time. So it took about a month. It was more than I first expected. But with the editing, the voiceover, and all... it's a lot! Ahah your comment is so funny (about daddy and mama). I don't know about today's magazines, I think they do. But I bought a bunch of 90s magazines, and let me tell you, some of those crafting are horrible. I'm always wondering if people were really making these! Lol! Thanks for watching!
You’re most welcome. It’s Okay to be different. I do things differently and some things are on purpose but others are by experimenting and/or accident. I just move on to the next thing because we all have different ways of looking at things. It’s all a part of the learning experience. Have a great day. 🙂
Thank you Virgil! 😘 I know, it was a big project. But that's the types of projects that keep my interest. If it's too easy, it's not fun! Thanks for watching (as usual)! 👻
Hello! This is Hayden Geary from Frightman Frights. I saw your completion video for the Polar-lights Munster model kit, and I’m very impressed by your painting skills. I’ve always wanted to build this model kit for a long time. I like how you painted the model just like the box artwork. You should consider building and painting the Aurora monster models if you can get your hands on them. I’ve seen reproductions kits you can buy for pretty cheap. Also, just for the future, you may consider using grey primer spray paint before painting your model kits. I’ve found using grey primer paint and sanding the edges of model kit parts before gluing to be very helpful prior to painting. I can’t wait to see more of your creations! Your channel is very unique and nostalgic to me.
Oh!! Hi Hayden! I LOVE what you did on Mark's channel!! Thank you so much. It's such a compliment, coming from you. You're truly an incredible artist. It was my first time building a model, and it was very interesting. I learned a lot. Thanks for the tips (for the grey primer/sanding)! I would like to build more models in the future, for sure. And if I do, I'll certainly use those tips. Thanks again. I can't wait to see more of your work on Frightman Frights' channel.
Hi, Val. I have come by to visit from one of Fraidy’s recent videos. Your story and memories are very touching and amazing. 💖 I love how you have been influenced by your talented grandmother’s love for costumes and Halloween. It is very heartwarming and so very cool. By the way, great video background. 👍 Thanks for sharing these special costumes from your youth. 😍 Rozani
Hi! Thank you so much for this beautiful comment! You're so nice! Yes, those costumes are so precious to me. They represent, in a way, the beginning of my love for Halloween! :) It was special to put this video together (as well as searching pictures of myself in these costumes when I was younger). I'm so happy to know some people enjoy that video. Thanks for watching. 😘
Hii Val. My favorite item was the ghost either. I loved the idea of using blue ornaments mixed with orange. You are right, the blue color in those Spooky Russian Dolls really made the difference. Love the video. Can't wait to watch the craft video 💜🔮🌟
Yes the ghost is so cool! I hope I'll be able to fix the rope. Thank you, I'm very excited about making this Halloween tree (using those two colors). The doll is coming slowly :). Haha. Thanks for watching Mughy!
Oh yes! This is so cool! I can totally see that type of decoration, in class, back in the days. Thank you so much. I have learned a lot, since I started my channel. The first video I did has basically no ambiance... Haha! With practice, I'm starting to get it!
Thanks for sharing Val. Pretty cool things that you found. Now I do have to say like your mother whenever I see face painting at an event on kids and they are using the same brush over and over I kind of get grossed out. 😁 I also agree yellow and blue is a great combination. That's my high school colors and it really stood out well. I had lots of those wooden puzzles growing up so they bring back fond memories. Side note, your picture and your audio quality are always so great. What are you using equipment wise? That makes your videos so fantastic. Thanks for sharing your lovely finds.
Haha yeah! I know, for the makeup. When I decided to start my own RU-vid channel, my husband really helped me out choose the equipment. For the camera, we took this model: www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B011PKJI2Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 For the mic, we went with a cheap one. But I also bought a stand, so I can put it close to me: www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00HE9G3UQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I use a tone of lights. I have two big spots (with a lot of different settings), two small ones (with color filters) and a black light. Thanks you so much! I'm happy to know you think my videos are good quality. Haha!
@@treatortreat Thank you. I should have checked with you before I bought all of my equipment. That camera is in the same price range as the one that I did. Thanks for replying back.
Wow! I was born in 1996, in Brazil. We usually don't celebrate Halloween there, which is sad :( (only a few people do). But I am pretty much amazed by the effort and creativity from the people of this town. When you are child, experiencing this type of things gives you amazing memories for the future. So sad that they don't do this anymore 😢
Thanks for watching Mughy! It's really sad they don't celebrate it in Brazil, and it's pretty incredible you like Halloween as you do! You're right, people were very creative. One year, somebody simulated an airplane crash in front of their house. It was something! I don't have it on tape, sadly... But you can see people put the effort.
Thank you! It was a very touristic place. I think they were starting one month earlier. We used to go there like two weeks before Halloween. People were very involved!
Decorations used to be so cute and creative, I'm so incredibly tired of seeing people just throwing some blow up things in their yard and calling it a day.
Yes, I know! This year, I went trick-or-treating with my kids and we went to a beautiful house! Lots of 80's and 90's decorations with handmade stuff. It was an old lady. I told her how wonderful her house was (that it was bringing me back memories).
I hate that this died out, the community flourishes with events like this because it brings people together, thats a big part of why we decorate and when we cant do it anymore, hopefully someone else will take the torch. Thanks for sharing this gem
That is one precious video or I should say videos. You were so adorable and into it and so inquisitive you had Halloween in you way back then. It's a shame the festival ended. It would have been neat to see it and how it improved year after year. One thing I really love seeing. Was Jack skellington? Because it made me think about your video and Jack skeleton and maybe wonder if that was an inspiration way back then. Very cool that you have these type of videos to reflect on. You should get it transferred to DVD so it doesn't rot out on tape. Thanks so much for sharing. It's beautiful and heartwarming.
Oh, thanks! That's so nice of you. 🖤 Halloween has always made me so happy. Yes, it was Jack! When I made my video, I didn't think about it. But maybe, unconsciously, it was somewhere in the back on my head. Haha! I can see the similarity. I love it. Thanks, I will.
