Here in central Arizona Salvation Army only has 1/2 off color days and they restructured their pricing; each item has a individual price now. Jeans used to be $10. 49 now 10.49 and up. Goodwill has $2.00 day on Thursday here.

Well....I now sell plush ,make enough to supplement my social security and actually fell in love with those Stuffed animals! Thank you for keeping it real and being such an inspiration. I don't remove the cards the jewelry is on, but sometimes I remove the original price. I can't really do a fair comparison on speed or sell through rate because for every one piece I get on a card I have hundreds of loose pieces. As far as price, I think that's more reliant on brand (which my costume jewelry rarely has) and looks. I can charge a lot more for a big, chunky necklace than a simple one.
I suggest free shipping on ALL items on Mercari, regardless of the category. We used to charge shipping, however when Mercari implemented its changes earlier this year that charges the fees to the buyer rather than the seller, the total amount/list of fees looks SO BIG to the buyer. Eliminating that shipping fee can really help push sales. But remember, free shipping is not really free. If it's jeans you would charge $20 plus $8 shipping for, they should be $28 with free shipping.
I got a Vero a few years ago for listing a Baby Shark t-shirt. Wouldn’t recommend listing any of their items. Plus think the whole Baby Shark era is over.
I started to do the cross posting to Mercari because it was so easy but I found myself in a pickle because every time I sent an offer out on eBay on one of the items that was cross posted to Mercari I would then have to go to Mercari and delist it because I didn't want it to sell on Mercari while I was waiting to see if the offer I sent out on eBay sold or not. I don't want to send out offers on eBay on items I have cross listed to somewhere else because the buyer on eBay has like 24 to 48 hours I'm not sure but they have a period of time to accept the offer. how do you handle that?
Personally, I use List Perfectly which auto delists items for me when they sell. If you don't use LP, you know you can end an item on eBay with an open offer on it? You have to be vigilant and pay attention, but you can send out offers without ending the items on other platforms. First come, first serve; whoever buys it first gets the item and everything else gets ended. So even with the 48 hours they 're given to "consider" the offer, you can still end the item if it sold somewhere else.
We do ship them ground as it's cheaper than priority and you can't ship them media mail because they have advertisements in them. When we buy our comics in bulk, the majority of them come with bags and boards, which we replace with brand new bags and boards. We save those boards and use about 4-5 of those to "sandwich" the comic (which is in a new bag with a board) and then put into a padded envelope (we get them on eBay with our free shipping supplies coupon every quarter, but there's affordable option on Amazon) and ship them that way. REALLY expensive ones may get a box.

I had the same problem with Poshmark recently and told them I would never list certain items there ever again. I put them on Mercari and mark everything as-is salvage condition and have no problems with returns there. But Mercari is dumb too because they remove listings for no reason and other dumb stuff.
I appreciate your information. I had no idea there was sites showing how to scam us. It’s hard to make a buck these days. I will continue to be honest and Pray for honest customers.
Read the comments and didn't know Poshmark was sold to another company..which is usually bad for business as it becomes focused on dividend payouts to investors & drains company resources (less employees, lack of loyalty to original company's mission.) Of course, thats assuming the new company is that kind of structure.. They r probably using AI program to do "careful reviews" to cut costs by not having actual people do it. Sad as I was just thinking of selling on Posh because of no return policy. Its another reason thinking of giving up on reselling since I'm new. With prices so high to buy inventory, storage & packaging costs, fees, there's almost no profit left. I know those of you w RU-vid channels have that additional income, but for us newbies, its looking bleak to continue.
I had a very similar experience. The buyer provided one photo. The lighting was bad and it was only of the sleeve area and not the entire item. I’m not convinced that the photo was even of the same item. They also approved the return less than 24 hrs later before I even had a chance to see it and respond. I asked Poshmark why the buyer wasn’t required to provide more photos. I received the same cookie cutter response saying that after “careful review” they had concluded that the dress was a different color than described. Of course it was a different color. The lighting was horrible in the photo the buyer provided.
In that case, this is what I do. I will get the occasion "not as described" do to the lighting and the color is off. #1 - I try to find a stock photo. 99% of the time I can find the exact stock, or one that's similar. In that case, I type "similar style and color" on the stock photo. #2 I write in the description that the color may not look the same because of lighting. #3 - I always state the color and pattern. For example if it's "charcoal" and not black, I will emphasize CHARCOAL NOT BLACK. I always always put the inseam & waist in the measurement. ALWAYS. Or I find the sizing chart to insert. But I don't quibble with the customer. Return it, I'll relist it and take better photos.
I noticed since posh sold to another company that they give returns so easy. Whats weird is I never see them take the money back off the seller (me) or say anything about it? Please let me know if you feel it’s ok if they take the money off you or just let you keep the money and her keep the jeans? If you feel it’s ok please let me know? Thanks so much! Would love to know how poshmark handles these?
So you don't actually get paid for the item until the buyer receives it and accepts it or or three days pass after delivery. If a case is opened, approved, and the item returned, then there was never a payout to "take back." I'm never alright with a buyer keeping an item and getting a refund, not on any platform. "No return, no refund."
I had a lady try and say I sold her a pair of pair of shoes when I have three pairs, and I had already sold one pair never have I ever sold anything counterfeit reached out to Poshmark. She returned the shoes. The shoes have been worn and scuffled up, and I reached out to Poshmark, but they refuse to do anything for it so they did give me a $20 credit, that was better than nothing but I also filed a claim with the post office that the shoes were damaged coming back to me Poshmark sometimes they take your side sometimes they don’t. It’s usually a customer that has done this before and the way to get away with it, so I understand where you’re coming from, but I never act unprofessional to them.
Wait!! Do people actually think reselling is glamorous??? Love it but glamorous for sure is not the word I think when I am photographing or stain treating lol

I'm a lung cancer survivor and I'm in remission now for ovarian cancer..I do me and my business in a slower pace and that's okay because I'm a top rated seller and have weekly bread and butter sells.. It totally works for me 😉
