The acrylic standees are only printed on one side? It doesn't look particularly good...how are you supposed to recognize the characters when all you see is a "white wall".
Yeah, it was not my favorite design choice at all. We ended up having our own characters face us so we knew which ones to move around, but it was just odd.

I'm so happy to see someone talk about this game. I am looking forward to your review. I got some playtime with the game and got to say it's easy to pick up (gameplay-wise). The components are fantastic. The only downsize are the Standee themselves, not by design, but functionality. Some of them are very wide where they take up two additional spaces, which makes it difficult to move them without knocking over other pieces of the game.
I've been playing a whole lot, and I have the same complaint. I LOVE the acrylics, but some some are just way too big for the board. My other biggest issue is just the character elimination. I have played other tactical games where your characters revive so that you don't lose the flexibility of cards in hand, which I personally prefer. But I like the objectives in this, and the range of characters - I definitely just need to try a few more and find a really solid team!

How did you feel about playtime? BGG list it was 60/120 minutes, and you talk about it being slow action-wise on your website. Does it feel that slow? It looks fantastic and something my group might like, but it's hard to get a 2-hour game to the table sometimes. Love the review btw!
It definitely fell in that range. I played at every count, my plays averaged at about 100 minutes. With 2 players we got it down to an hour after we both knew how to play. 2 certainly doesn't have as much downtime, so it doesn't feel as slow. At 4 if can just feel long between turns sometimes but even at a 4 player count where everyone was new to it, it was right at 2 hours (give or take a few minutes) so the timing is fairly accurate. I think it really comes down to who you play with. I think if someone is prone to AP, this might not be the best game for them. But most games I didn't feel like the timing was too bad. And personally I think 3 players is the sweet spot for it.
I gave this one a 3. It took HOURS longer than it needed to, and everything was more fiddly than fun. I also lost by a mile and still don't understand WHY. Overall it was a terrible experience. I played it at 5, what was your player count?
My partner felt the exact same way you did. He also loves Castles so I think it made him hate it more. I wanted to like it more than I did, but I do agree that it is more fiddly than it should be. I tried it at 1,2,3, and 4. And by then I kind of decided that it wouldn't be enjoyable at 5 at all. I liked it best solo, but it was still really long.
I am looking for a good tutorial video on this as all the ones I can find don't follow the rulebook that I have. Do you know of a video like that, or do you have a demo video you made? Thanks.
I don't have anything like that. It looks like there might be a how to play video on the boardgamegeek page for it, but I am not sure what rulebook it uses, I wasn't aware there was more than one, actually. Hope you find what you need!

What a spectacular accomplishment I am in awe at your dedication to getting this done. These Marvel United minis are a delight to paint. Beast was the first mini I ever painted, honestly I would recommend anyone scared about trying mini painting to start with one of the core boxes since you get so many minis and they are pretty forgiving to work with
Thank you so much! Beast was the first one I painted from these, funnily enough haha but I totally agree! There's definitely tough ones among them all, but the core boxes are an excellent place to start!
If only the publisher hadn’t screwed Collectors Edition backers(*). They’ll never see another penny from me. (*) cancelled the pledge level without refund option, forced backers to accept lower pledge level with refund of difference in pledge. BAIT AND SWITCH
I didn’t expect a great experience, just an okay-to-good one, which seems to be the case. I backed at the Collectors Edition level for a display piece, and an okay-to-good puzzle game as a bonus. Feeling somewhat double-screwed, tbh
