My favorite is episode 3's. I keep thinking about it. Someone using the balance scale of justice ⚖️ as an ash tray for her cigarette 💀💀💀. It's basically saying how much of a mockery justice and fairness is in today's world. Like when they let lalo off on a $7M bail. It's just another tool to use to your advantage like jimmy and all the criminals do.
I think what I like about Better Call Saul is that throughout each season the intro becomes more distorted, as reflection of jimmy deciding into the criminal life and embracing his character as Saul Goodman and by the end of it he pretty much becomes a nobody.
The last few seconds of the intro for eps 10-13 of the last season also have a rewinding sound and a quick flash that the record button has been pressed. SO not only has the tape degraded from months of Gene watching them over and over, at the very end it's like he's frantically recording over the tapes to hide as much evidence that he was Saul as he can.
This is one of my favorite TV show intros. The jingle is very catchy and it gets stuck in my head lol. And I like how the intro gets progressively worse as you watch each season, signals Jimmy becoming more corrupt and losing all his joy.
All I can say is that Better Call Saul has the best intro I've ever seen in a TV series, both visually and by soundtrack. Hands down. And I must say, Better Call Saul is even better than its predecessor; Breaking Bad.
There is something really unsettling about the intro of BCS. It looks like something that was made, and played in universe, and seems to be leading up to something ominous from the very first episodes. I always thought these could be brief shots of a crime scene (potentially Saul being killed?) leading up to the end of Better Call Saul. Its one thing I love about BCS even above Breaking Bad, a lot of the characters feel much more real. The dialogue and conversations feel real, and its a lot more ‘convincing’ than a lot of other shows you watch. Saul never feels like the main character of the world of BCS / BB, only ever the focus of our attention.
Get a load of this. I counted every time the intro glitches to black and white and here is what I noticed: season 1 no glitches, season 2 two glitches, season 3 three glitches, season 4 four glitches, season 5 five glitches, season 6 black and white with one glitch to color.
Fun fact : the intro loses its color each season cuz it shows that sauls way hes going a happy lawyer to a cinnabon worker thats a good detail thanks vince and peter!
It never occurred to me until I saw a complete compilation of the openings that they were deteriorating over each season and finally give out in the final few episodes. That’s pretty cool.
I really hate this theme song, it's prolly one of the worst I've heard. From Breaking Bad's suspenseful yet immersive theme song to whatever in the world this is......
It's hard to see, but after the tape breaks on the final 3 episodes there's a very slight afterimage. I can't tell what it is on episode 11, but episode 12 it's a woman's silhouette (for an episode that's 3/4 what happened to Kim) and episode 13 it's horizontal bars (which I guess would be too on the nose if it was vertical jail bars)
