@@tomistallard hi Tom. No the stop start was not working before I changed the battery. It was one of the reason why I changed the battery. After changing the battery the stop/start worked as normal. The reason the stop start stopped working was because the battery voltage was to low and the battery wasn’t changing enough for the voltage to get to the correct level for the stop start
@@nocluewhattodo21 perfect news. Thanks mate. I had my battery tested today and needs replacing (98k miles, 13 years old!). Turns out that astra j's don't need any battery registration or anything like that. Sometimes, when the new battery is installed, the vehicle needs time (overnight) and then everything works. My job this weekend. Cheers again.
This video was useful for me, but I couldn't get the brace to release no matter what I did. Ended up having to bend the brace plate out of the way so I could remove the battery
Great portfolio are you spread betting on companies noticed you kind of stop at a couple of hundred? Good solid companies you have. Are you going to increase any into the thosands like Realty? Thanks for the video its allways nice seeing what stocks people have.
@@AM-gy5xg general I and trying to show what a small amount can achieve. But there are occasions where I am putting more into one of my holding I i believe there is real value to be found
Hi mate I changed my battery, did everything in this video, but my car just gets to the ‘checking’ point on the dashboard and nothing else happens. Doesn’t even sound like engine is even trying to start.
@@raulmadeit if it’s cranking over but not firing. It’s not a battery issue it’s more likely to be a file issue. Just/change your fuel filter. Them check the fuel pump.
@@jakelum9618 yep but it is well devise. I started to figure out about half way through year 3 that is was not a Good idea to go for 100 companies. So I have been slimming it down but still want to show how a little each month can grow to your financial goals
@@nocluewhattodo21credit to you. We’ve all gotta work that kinda stuff out, diversity is good, however there are index funds that focus on dividends and that will bring no doubt more diversity. What made you focus on dividend paying stocks rather than just growth stocks?
@@jakelum9618 I think this type portfolio good for retired people or planning to get a fixed income in future... very good monthly dividend portfolio.... Imagine this stocks earning on 200K investments... or more...
@@nocluewhattodo21 I like your portfolio.... if you planned a monthly fixed income in the future then this is good... I mean you have 14% increase with dividend earnings... beautiful...
@@jakelum9618 my thinking was after this 5 years I would have a good opinion on T212. Then if I want to continue to use it the profile would be slimed down to about 20 to 30 holdings and the focus would be on generating that£1000 per month. I know I would have stood more chance of getting to the 50k With growth value stocks
TRIG is apparently down due to it being overweighted in solar energy. The Compounding Investor is selling it for that reason essentially. Uk renewables are down in general. TRIG's incredibly little debt shouldn't have much impact on its price. But then I'm a novice at all of this. I'm also down on TRIG. All the best for June.
cracking video cheers, can i ask what happened at the end when the lights didnt go off until you went back to the boot to do something then it worked after that?
I went to check in this but it was all ok. Then I took the keys out of the ignition and put them back in and turn the ignition and it worked. It was a bit of panic moment because it was working when it should have
Well done! I find that exponential growth graph inspirational!! Two questions: what do you think of crypto, and wouldn't you try make some extra on that on the side? And I see Steam down there, what are your main games? 😄
Thanks for the kind comment. As far as crypto goes, I don’t invest in it as it’s not a tangible item and I don’t know enough about it. The Steam account is my daughter and she is the gamer!
I'm impressed by the meticulous tracking sheets, but I was mindblown that you'd split 12k into nearly 100 different stocks! That seems waaay too many for a relatively small account imo. Also makes the tracking the more daunting! Why wouldn't you split it to 5 to 10 dividend stocks instead? Or maximum 20. Well done anyway, and good luck on your journey!
I am doing this portfolio as a bit of an experiment. In year to I realized it was too much going for 100 companies, so started to sell a few off. But it’s still going really strong
@@nocluewhattodo21 good luck! It's always inspirational seeing dividend portfolios grow! If I may ask, how did you construct those sheets? You must have quite the experience with excel, or was it ai generated?
They are fairly basic. I started with the dividend sheet to track what dividends I was getting. Then I did the front sheet so I could see the key facts quickly. The predictors sheet was an afterthought and uses the data from the dividend tracker sheet and some simple formulas to project what the future might be. The more data I have the more accurate the predictor will be
Ya did it today and was quick putting it in just had to do the window thing and the car it starting much quicker now , checked to old battery it was only reading 10 volts the new one was 12.7 volts and showing 14.6 when running very happy with the job car goingvgreat now and the radio was perfect 👌 thanks for the feedback 👍
Also just a note the main dealer wanted €400 for the battery and labour to put it in , got a new battery myself (stop start eco one ) for €200 so saved myself the price ofva full service which i will get done in the next week or two 😉 thanks again 👍
If you have a stop go system in your car then you will need a stop to battery. You can use the halfords vehicle check. Just pop your reg in and it will tell you want battery your need
probably one of the best instructions for oiling the belt ... I managed to mess my one up by losing count of how many turns I did .... after oiling should the belt lay completely flat on the surface ? As I think I over tightened and maybe the oil is drying up faster due to the edges being raised ..... now I can't get it to stay centered and the belt sways to the left .... any tips or can u guide me to any links etc?
The best thing to do is loose the tension screws up a bit a time. While the belt is running. You will see when it’s too lack, look for the belt moving side to side or at a slow speed just below a normal walking pace, then walk on the belt and if you feel it slipping or moving then that’s a good sign it’s too lack. Then tighten then tension bolt back up a quarter of a turn and repeat until it looks felt right. A over tensioned belt will lead to belt stretching and wear faster than normal. If the belt starts to stretch you will feel it slipping a bit which will require some more tension etc
The motor is in the front roller. The hole deck needs lubrication as it’s where the friction is. If not lubricated correctly you will see high wear and have to replace the belt

Yes, the stop start function had stop working because the battery voltage had dropped. It was more of a preventative maintenance thing as it’s my partner car and I didn’t want it to get to the point where it could Fail on her
Having changed loads of battery's over the years it's always been on pre 1990 cars, and having seen the amount of stuff around the J battery I was apprehensive, thanks for showing the window reset very usefull, thanks for a very informative video👍
Hi sir I have same car astra j 2011 Today I go halford they said your battery life is 33% Please tell me when should I change or what is the size of the battery should I put in my car thank you
You should replace the battery with the OEM recommend battery. If the battery has not been replace from new it will be the same as that. Halfords and and got retailer will be able to tell you which battery your car needs. As for replacement of you are having battery related issue (like I was) the replacing it now won’t be a bad choice
I’m having issues with my Astra J, 61 plate, going to change battery this week, did you need the radio code when new battery was fitted? As I don’t know what it is.
