would this chisel be suitable for making square edged finished corners and dressing the edges of hard of hard Basalt stone, or is the regular handset better suited for this purpose? plus whats the best width for thus work?
It is your angle of your flat chisel point, put the angle of your tracer at a 45 degree, score the line, then possibly switch to a 90 degree angle with your masons chipper along the score line. Some softer stones are more stubborn than the harder ones. If it is a big block, use the slab splitter or a bull hammer with a 20lb sledge, you'll get it split in no time. Good luck. I believe it is a 3/4" or 7/8" size Hand Point -- Randy has pretty big hands to it's somewhat hard to tell. Please let me know if you have any other questions and thanks!
