Wow, what a beautiful voice you have! Thank you for sharing. I had the same surgery, same levels. I'm a Country /country rock, singer..Well, I used to be. This sucks. I hope you get it back, and I hope I do too. I'm 65, and 8 weeks out. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Praying for you, and would appreciate your prayers as well. I'll be watching. God bless you!🙇♀️☝️❤️
Hey Dr Bible, when you reminded us about what the orchestra sounds like when all 4 sections are playing together, the audio clip you played is actually The Theme of The Young Persons Guide To The Orchestra by Benjamin Britten. The theme for this piece was written by the great English composer Henry Purcell.
The most common woodwind instruments today are piccolos, flutes, oboes, english horns, clarinets, bass clarinets, bassoons, contrabassoons, soprano saxophones, alto saxophones, tenor saxophones, baritone saxophones, and recorders
A wonderful introduction to the Renaissance. Many excellent points. I could enter into the mood and atmosphere of this interesting age in music history. Much appreciated. Thank you.
Agree the instructions were deplorable. I have written to the company, but of course got the usual we will let our team know answer. I don’t understand how hard it would be to have one of their team put this thing together in a video with explicit instructions and close-ups. We’re paying a lot of money for these things. I don’t see why that can’t happen.
Thank you for your seminar! One note about Gesualdo, wo wrote Moro Lasso, whose wife was murdered - you might have mentioned that it was he who murdered her and her lover in rage, after catching them in bed together... 😅💀
It's well worth watching this slightly different take on medieval singing techniques and styles: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hxcH7S2BaiQ.html
Thank you for this video! I think it's so cool that even before I learned about the Dies Irae, I already subconsciously knew about it because of its use in film soundtracks.
I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2008 when I was 27 years of age and now I'm 40 years of age, so I've had U.C. for about 14 years, I had flares and remissions throughout the years, since my last flare up I've been in a remission since about 2 years. Thanks for sharing.
@@kierstin1989 Yes, the reason I had flare ups is due to not having access to the medication Asocal, however, thanks to the subsidized healthcare I have access to a Doctor and Asocal. I'm getting a Colonoscopy this Month, as my Doctor wants me to.
8 months and no "likes" until I came along! Come on, everyone! What I love about medieval music is its openness to interpretation. I had great fun with "A Chanter m'er" when, in 2016, I was asked to give a talk on the troubadours in my local church. I did an improvised prelude on a psaltery, and the melody in two rhythms on a recorder with psaltery interlude. Planning it was as interesting as playing it. I listened to other people's recordings, then made it my own without plagiarising, waiting for my ideas to come to fruition.
Mark Hayes version really spoke to me-- I like the idea of a solemn acknowledgement of inevitable upheaval as opposed to spiking anxious stings, but that's just my perspective
Dr. Bible, Can you tell me if the beginning of Barry Manilow's Could It Be Magic is a good example of a pitch and chord played on the piano? I was told that it's all chords. Thank you for your help.
I like the way you break down the broad lable of classical as a segway into style periods:). 😎 Way to clear one major understanding issue right off the bat 👌
