Hi Nick, a fee years ago I watched your spin videos and if I remember right the idea was never to limp button, and to do a lot of jamming vs button limps. Why are you limping buttons with Ax? You limped with A5o and A9s. Don’t you want to get more money I. With stronger hands in position?
@NickWalshTV
@NickWalshTV 19 дней назад
@@jackiesee1907 you might be getting confused with 3 handed vs HU play? 3 handed we basically never limp BTN. Limping the button HU is a REALLY important strategy however if you want to play optimal heads up poker (and that would have been the same since I started streaming in 2019). The reason for this is we want to play as many hands a possible in position and include many more traps as we get to the shallow stages of HU play. If we play a raise or fold only strategy IP, our playable range IP becomes much smaller (or we become exploitable by aggressive 3bettors) and therefore is not an optimal approach to entering pots 25eff and below. If you'd like to learn more about optimal preflop HU ranges I can point you in the right direction on my Discord? Link: discord.com/invite/t8GCB6BU

Why did you allin call with the pair for 4's? Wasn't it kind of obvious that he had a better hand all-ing on the first hand of the sit and go?
@NickWalshTV
@NickWalshTV 19 дней назад
@@OnlyTutorials 44 is just a default call in that spot according to GTO (but not 22 or 33). That's just the math. If you have more info on your opponent (which would require quite a lot of hands played) you could consider folding 44 against VERY VERY tight opponents but 55 will ALWAYS be a call because you're just going to have the best hand too often to want to raise fold. It's important to remember that your opponents are supposed to 3bet shove all their small pairs from SB so that's immediately 12 combinations of pairs you absolutely crush (80% fav) with 44 which goes a long way towards boosting your average EV (not to mention the suited Ax combos we have dominated (another 12 combos x 70% equity). Hope that helps 🙂

I hope to reach your level one day. Finally, I want to ask you a question… Don't you use HUD in your games? Do you think it’s not really worth it for Spins? Big hug, brother. Good luck at the tables and much success with your channel! 🚀🙏🏻🤜🏻
@NickWalshTV
@NickWalshTV 20 дней назад
Thanks for the kind words dude! I do have the facility for a HUD (which is the same program I use to track and graph on stream) but I tend not to use it at these stakes as I don't play the same guys as much as you would at higher stakes, the games tend to be softer anyway, and with lower samples it tends to confuse me more than help. BUT If I was playing higher with a smaller pool (like when I was playing full time before getting signed by PokerStars) I would defo use a HUD to find leaks but in those circumstances the data would be much more useful as I would have way more hands to track. I think after all these years I'm good at just adjusting to players organically though so really I think it's a personal preferance. Best of luck with your channel and games - speak soon!

@NickWalshTV
@NickWalshTV 22 дня назад
@@herkudzia1132 All good - I'm with you now! So regarding your analysis, I don't think he has 99-AA really at all with the 3x preflop raise. It's just WAY too big to be a premium like that and TECHNICALLY almost all of those are meant to be limp traps pre (people don't always follow "the rules" but that's important to note). Even if he does raise those pairs, people always min-raise them to try and get max action and not 3bb. If he does have a pair on the flop there are many scare cards on the turn / river where we can lose value. If he does have a draw we aren't punishing the draw by flatting and with the stack size / bet size on the flop the only way to punish that is by shoving. If he does have high cards only, you could argue that we want him to catch up but, as you can see in the video, he has already completely committed himself to this pot with the (way too) large preflop size and half pot (which is also half his stack) flop bet and needs to call regardless (which he does - basically because he sized so badly pre and post he feels like he needs to run with the hand no matter what I have). Is flatting the flop BAD, nah I think it's also good too, but because of the weird super huge preflop open and the super huge continue (in relation to his stack), we are printing by shoving. EVEN BETTER, if we shove flop and he folds ANY equity, we get 70% of his stack with 0 variance which is huge for this game and for our overall cEV. So basically, everything about how he sizes here is super wonky and that specifically means we can play our hand like we did BUT let's say he min-raised preflop and bet small on the flop, then we can start mixing some flats / small X/R instead. Thank you for the question though - hope you're enjoying the content - GL GL in your games! 😀

But... I was playing 200/300 games a day so it basically doesn't even move the needle when you're playing that kind of volume. Hypers aren't cash or MTTs (although I would argue that MTTs FEEL way worse when you're on a DS because they are so slow by comparison) - when you're playing so many games so quickly with lots of variance, they are bigger swings but you play through them super quickly if you stay consistent and put in the time.
