The infant is a blank sheet, and birth is the first experience written on it, certainly. The attachments made over the period of total dependence are important, but gradually weaken. In many ways, we're talking about developing the shells of perception, firstly neuroception, then interoception, proprioception, exteroception, and finally (my own rebadging of Maslow's transpersonal) transception. Neuroception's about discovering our basic reality and making definitions of sensory inputs, interoception finding our toes and exploring those new senses, proprioception the first steps in family relationships, exteroception starting to discover the locality. With that much, these norms create a defined persona aged about 7 or 8. The next major step's adolescence and the formation of a social persona, and finally the person settles aged about 25. Disasters can happen along the way, though - in my case, The Tavistock Clinic destroyed my social foundations aged 9, breaching my privacy and failing to disclose the information I was entitled to to make informed decisions thenceforth.
It was certainly interesting but the same thing kept being said over and over. I've no problem considering his base idea which is spacetime is not fundemental and that conciousness is. I'm sure there are plenty of people who aren't even interested in hearing this idea so he is likely arguing this point quit a bit. However I would really like to hear some ideas on what might possibly "BE" instead of just repeating numorous time what "ISN'T." So I'm not arguing against any of his statements. I am just saying that there is plenty of room for more detail above and beyond the ideas that are so well repeated here. I find myself wanting more but most most of what is said here could be covered in about 20 min or less. Most of my attention after the first half hour is just wanting more detail and then getting the same concept restated in not even all that many different ways. So I get what "isn't" but I'd love to hear more about what possibly "IS." Even a discussion about how hard it is to consider or know or find what "IS." More deapth and breadth would be very nice to engage in.
I believe one error contained within the arguments here is the repeated reference to Natural Selection relating to a strong belief in Neo-Darwinism which is incorrect. While Natural Selection does exist, what it really exists as is an envelope of survival within which living systems have been intelligently evolving themselves with their intelligent decision making and long term genomic and hereditary memory passed on the offspring. We scientifically know beyond a doubt at this point that there is a two way flow of information between the memory and information passed to offspring and the intelligent decision making of the parent organism, creating a swarm intelligence that exists across a reproducing species.
So basically, there is no creator, it is just nature, that we are part of, that is evolving... we do not know how it all started and where it will go from here.... nothing matters... if you can, enjoy life, if you cannot then suffer and die anyway... nothing matters. True but sad ...
My experience as a woman with a severe case of complex ptsd has demoralized me utterly. Psychiatric professionals have almost always dismissed my pain and pathologized all of my good traits--my empathy is "preoccupation with victimization," my love of my dog is "maladaptive attachment," my love of school is "the need for artificial strokes in a falsely structured environment." I have been drugged to the point of vegetative lethargy, obesity, blacking out when just trying to walk across the room, having seizures, drenching cold sweats, bizarre, terrifying nightmares, chronic digestive problems, dry mouth, etc. My ptsd symptoms are understood as sickness rather than reactions to a truly wretched life. The sexism is appalling. The meds do nothing other than cause relentless suffering, Psychiatrists say that sid effects don't exist. I have come to a point of having nothing but contempt for psychiatrists.
OMG. This, "PhD", has the vocabulary and speaking style of a 5th grader! It was so distracting I couldn't focus on anything but his constant, "...and then I go...and then he goes...". Sorry. It's my first time watching one of his interviews. Yikes! Very annoying. 😂
I disagree with this- i argue that rational clarity of our phenomena is possible when one accounts for our 'reference frame' ie the capabilities and limitations of our sensory perceptions, intersubjective validation of perceptions/measurements and how memory, logic, abstraction, tools and cooperation enable us to transcend many of our individual limitations.
Very enlightening thank you. However I would change the word 'personality' to 'temperament' because I don't think your personality has anything to do with defence mechanisms. Temperament can be changed, personality cannot. IMHO.
I suggest that ones 'nature' best describes that part of us that we are born with. Both temperament and personality can change. The word 'nature' in this context comes from the old German word 'Natur', Goethe writes about this aspect in his Biology.
Here and now I synapse this electrical and magnetic at core spark into the collective consciousness that is the aether that is the internet... The focus and emphasis has now shifted officially from the "ME and mine" to the "We and ours!" In this age of Aquarius we have the momentum needed to fast track enlightenment across the masses across this land to the outer depths of our solar system. The time is here and now. Slow down and and be honest with yourself... It is all so fast paced by design in hopes we will all blindly comply and continue shooting our self in the feet but expecting to be able to walk. To ignore the problems that arise in life is to be ignorant. These issues accumulate and just as they accumulate in our lives...as above so below...they accumulate within mother earth as well. She isn't very pleased with her current state of dysbiosis but she is all knowing. The galactic super intelligence the cosmic consciousness will reign supreme. Although she is not pleased she knows all and that's the beauty in it all. We either begin to get smart, and begin thinking in terms of energy frequency and vibration. If we don't begin to accept that there are laws that govern this universe thst you may break, but you'll always suffer the consequences. Be them what they may it isn't a pleasant existence and is why you are in a cyclic never ending story of life suffering and death life suffering and death...to live is to suffer, to find meaning in the suffering is to THRIVE. Let's begin to thrive let's begin to talk about love and light and hope. A reset a plan of recourse.to hold the very individuals that have kept us all in this ignorant state of dysbiosis and being...of existence....and let's begin thinking outside the box of ways that we as magnificent creatures can better the human condition. Pretend they're not there. Go to your job act like your playing the roll of a good little worker robot blindly complying when in reality we ban together form a place of meeting a place to gather and we brainstorm outside the box plans of recourse thst we will one day in this age, in the next several thousand years, a plan we can implement. We could be Aristotle and Platonius...we could be these figures like Jesus who preach love and light frequency energy vibration. That hold dear the laws that govern this spiritual but material realm. Objective reality manifests in the form of applied knowledge...called WISDOM. It's not wisdom if not applied, therefore it must be ignorance. To ignore life and all the issues thst arise ...continuing the same expecting different which is insanity. It is no measure of sanity , to be conformed to an insane society nor a measure of success. Become abundantly wealthy within, and watch the racks pile up. The law of correspondence, cause and effect, polarity gender rhythm vibration mentalism and love. The care of self to seek truth and not blindly comply. The love and care within our souls that push us onward in spite of any other circumstances...we are hue-men and women with capabilities beyond our wildest dreams. Let's start acting like the apex species again. Let's get back to where we once belonged. It is no longer me it is we.
Sorry to hear of what awful things you and others have gone through. Awful. Dr. Breggin wrote on how soldiers are being affected in a negative way by meds and it helped me to help my veteran pal when he had adverse reactions to his five or six prescribed meds; a new doctor took him off all but one..
i knew that "nothing" is anything out of my focus,, this just occured to me recently and then this pops up on youtube. surprise surprise, lol but yes this is great stuff, when i hear something i actually got to think of .,,,,,,but struggle so much putting into language. but, the fact we have to ask are we machines? machines compared to what? i mean we are one of a kind thing. we could have been given the name machine instead of human? if that helps lol in my mind i can add humanlike qualities to my idea of any machine. years ago, when i began using computers i thought, these computers are like brains. their were even older slow ones n newer faster ones. then when i heard about a computer virus, i thought this was cool n this was the beginning of more unique type thoughts in my mind.. focus on something with intention on how you want it to be and possibility of happening so others also experience what is intended n focused upon by one. this is how i realize i am susceptible to anything, being of human biology so possibilities in my mind are 100% endless n forever!! n the grandmaster of this vast billions light year across space time can do all things. object permanence is a gift

Dr David Luke, Good talk. I am sorry the video could not show the slides. I saw you on the Stoa channel, along with others doing research on Psychedelic and it is interesting to me that none seem interested of the 1000s of years of Catholic Church Theology, especially as Fr. Ripperger does Conferences on Spiritual Warfare and what is known about the Angels and Demons (Fallen Angels) on RU-vid. God Bless., Steve
