I love 8 80 Cities! Santa Cruz has a rail trail under construction and we have been in touch with founder Gil Peñalosa. Capitola, Aptos, Watsonville, Santa Cruz, all connected by rail transit and cycling path! We need to prioritize walking, cycling, and transit over automobiles and Gil with help us. I was in DC last weekend and was in an area of the city where walking was easy and pleasant. I walked each day from my hotel to the AAUW headquarters and back, then one afternoon to the White House and back to my hotel. This area of DC was easy to navigate -- very walkable. I wish my city was that easy to navigate.
