The main problem with this type of cheap desoldering iron is the rubber seal between the heater pipe and the plastic holder (inside the joint where the 3 screws are located) will deteriorate and melt after about 45 minutes of usage. Thereafter, the suction power will be very much diminished due to the air leak, thus rendering it useless.
@@dismayer666 This is no contradiction. The video is very informative in that he one could learn as to how he realised idea in practice. Still, this can be done using many types of vacuum pumps with respect to its performance (e.g. amount of air suction per minute). I requested that information to avoid using an over or under dimensioned vacuum pump for my implementation. Hope this clarifies. ;-))
