Well done, Sir! The most succinct and foolproof method I’ve seen to date. And I’m with you on maintaining the systems as designed. If it worked for Ferdinand Porsche, it works for me.
Help me understand if the fan is located under the air filter housing and clearly pushes air UP, why the airflow arrow on the filter should point DOWN (?). On the filter, it clearly states the arrow denotes the direction of airflow.
Yes , the fan is below the filter but you are thinking it is like a desk fan that would blow air towards you. Hence you think this fan should be blowing up. This fan actually blows down and this is so because of how the blades are oriented in the "drum". Good so far? Now, there are two ways of notifying which way the filter should be installed. Filters that show the word UP should be placed so you can read the word UP . Sometimes there will be arrows to the left and right of the" UP" word. Then there are filters that show with an arrow and the word "airflow". It may not be obvious to some which way the air flows , and so the easiest way to tell is that the side of the filter that is dirty you can think of it as the tail of the flow arrow and the clean side of the filter , the tip of the flow arrow. Hence you can now determine the airflow direction. Another thing I would like to mention is at 1:38 in the video. If you zoom in you will see the word UP near the front right side of the tray. This has nothing to do with the filter but more so the orientation of installing the tray properly. You will also notice that if installed properly the braces( support) for the filter is on the underside and so supports the filter, preventing it from collapsing and being sucked into the fan assembly. Hope this helps. Cheers
Hola, saw this video featured while lurking TheSamba. Really great video with thorough explanation & demonstration. Heading out today to replace the old incandescent bulbs with the LED drop-in replacements. While the lower power draw is a definitive plus as well as the difference in brightness being more evident at night, the response time to activation is what sold me on this upgrade. +1 Subscriber. :) Bravo.
That's probably why I got sick. It's a good thing I replaced it last night and didn't suffer for days or weeks. It's upside down so I need to fix mines.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us clear clean organized professional work with passion and knowledge. What are the components of a complete fuel system D Jetronic? It's possible to upgrade the system to new product. For me D system better than k jetronic Best regards,
May I recommend Cerakote headlight restoration kit. Follow the instructions to the letter and save yourself a couple hundred dollars. However, I do find it easier to do with the assembly removed, so your video still comes in very handy!
Thanks for the closes up of the washers and brass thing. Seems like there should be a book somewhere that would have an exploded view of each part. Maybe I should get some CAD software and start doing that.
Well I put it together and as soon as I turned on the key the horn honked. I put it together wrong? I've been told 3 different ways to do this on my 67 bug. Cup side up and down. Is there an exploded diagram any where? Showing all the washers and springs and cup directions?
Hi everyone! In actual versions of obdeleven you do not have to type the channel. When you select the "basic settings" you get a list of the functions and you directly select the desired function. In this case it would be “Initial fuel filling”. Here you enter realistic values, e.g. a “filling time” = 30s and “fuel level” = 10l. Then you start the process at least 3 times.
What 10mm bolts are those? My mechanic lost mine and the housing is now being held down by zip ties..... 😂 What particular 10mm bolts should I get at Auto Zone. I'm calling my mechanic tomorrow to inform him. Thank you
very poor design. Sylvania, for unknown reason designed these poorly where the plastic LED housing drastically jet's out over the aluminum bucket, far from an original 1157 design. This makes it not work at all for early Chevrolet 1157 female housing. the problem is that you can insert, but it bottoms out, so you can't twist the notches in because that white plastic housing carrying the LEDs hits the Chevy design. I also don't know why they use the "indirect" distribution design where their light needs to reflect from the car manufactured housing - many cars don't have that design. that limits Sylvania's customers. It's just a bad design, period. Glad this worked for you.
Lol the zevo led bulbs are not poorly design. Not even close. They are by far very well made. We have the sylvania zevo 7443R on my 2015 lifted Scion xB, my family’s 2017 Toyota sienna LE, and my brother in law’s 2005 Toyota sienna with 1157R. These red led bulbs works very well. They are high quality OG led bulbs. With that lifetime warranty, they do last forever. No doubt. Not even poorly at all dude.
@@toyotabrony its less than incadecent. Perhaps part of the problem is my housing compared to yours. Meaning, the reflectablity of the housing to amplify the brightness fails as my housing is a less than semi-shiny almost pot-metal. I have since discovered "Alopee" 1157s. They are far superior in design, fit, look and brightness. And they cost less than Sylvania.
